Braeside Country Inn

The inn is in easy walking distance to the town centre and there is ample parking. One could not fault the cleanliness of the premises and the welcome was warm and friendly. It is a lovely building with character. Our room was small, but had a great sea view.

Patience was needed with the shower as it took around 10 minutes for the hot water to come though. The breakfast was adequate, but not a lot of variety, which may be to be expected in an inn with a limited number of rooms. What there was was very good.

It's not far from downtown, yet it's still it own place. Walking into the property is like walking into my own home. The host is a wonderful person and very accommodating. It has a lot of history for those who are interested. Rooms are spacious and a mix of old style with up to date amenities. Breakfast had verity and very healthy.

There isn't a bad thing about this place.

This property is one of the top best of all the ones we’ve stayed at on our 2,500 miles (plus) road trip. It is beautiful & well-kept inside & out. The friendly, honest & helpful owners anticipate & provide for all their guests’ needs & more in order to make them feel comfortable & right at home. It is well-situated, with a great view of the harbor & ships, & conveniently located close to great restaurants, shops & all the amenities you want. It’s also quite close & convenient to catch the ferry to & from Prince Edward Island, only 10 minutes away. We highly recommend it!

Not a thing!

Linda was extremely helpful. She was very responsive to our needs. The breakfasts were simple but nutritious and adequate. The Inn has a wonderful location. We walked on the Jitney Trail each morning and saw many great blue herons.

The only thing that was difficult at times was the lack of an elevator. But Linda assisted with carrying things upstairs.

The room was comfortable and clean. There were many birds in the trees on the property which added to the ambiance. The breakfast was very good. The building seems to have a lot of history. Check in was very easy and the hostess was accommodating.

The bathroom is very small. The building temperature was quite cool. The building could use an air exchanger to improve the dampness.

All around excellent value for money, superb location, fantastic hosts.

Small room in which the only few free surfaces were taken up by kleenex box, minifridge tucked under the only small table (so sitting at it difficult without moving the fridge), one small side table filled with brochures and flower vase. Just free up a bit of surfaces for guests to place their belongings. Nevertheless, I rearranged and enjoyed anyway.

Wonderful historical inn, we’ll maintained by excellent owner and staff. We had a king suite with hot tub, comfortable and quiet. Short walk to town and waterfront. Nice breakfast in historic dining hall in the inn, a great start to our day. Owner is an author with intriguing life story.

We only had one night to stay, wish we had more!

Charming country inn, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, excellent breakfast (continental plus hard boiled eggs and slices of cheese). Owner works hard to keep everything clean and tidy. My request for a room facing the water was fulfilled.

There was an excellent watermelon for breakfast, sadly my partner cannot eat melon or watermelon, another choice of fresh fruits such as apples or bananas would have been good.

Breakfast was served in a large room with a beautiful hardwood floor, that suggested at one time it would have been used for dancing. The food was plentiful and satisfied all the basic food groups for a breakfast that would give me a great nutritional start to my day. Excellent COVID-19 protocol in place. Linda was friendly and helpful. A delightful hostess!!

Because I access to a table for work was important to me, it would have been helpful to not have had the little fridge under the table so I could use it more comfortably. However, I understand that most tourists using the room would find the fridge more useful than the table, -I used it myself actually.

Nice old place, interesting harbor view, if you get it, through a small window. Interesting decor. Nice gardens and property.

Staff was cold, NOT warm & fuzzy. They never did anything wrong (in their mind), guests were always at fault. Breakfast was spare, to say the least- stale danish, no hot food. Location near Pictou was good, but not really walkable.
