Balmoral Motel

Good area. A grocery store across the street, a restaurant on site (delicious food). The motel itself was a little dated, but clean and comfortable. We plan to go back again. The no vacany sign went on for the nights we were there. They do not not serve free breakfast for the price they offer, but you can make your own in the little room in the lobby. There are kettles, coffee maker, toaster, coffee, tea, fresh milk, creamer. In your room there is a fridge and microwave. Also in the lobby is a freezer with bags of free ice. Now what else do you need to enjoy your stay? I would rate a 4 out of 5.

LARGE mowed area behind the motel. Very pet friendly. Quiet. Free tea and keurig coffee in small room between front doors. John at desk welcoming and friendly. Called as we were traveling to Tatamagouche to check on arrival. We were ok with directions with our map app. Checked into Junior Suite which is around the back of the checkin/office. Awesome windows in both dining/sitting area and main bedroom. I’d choose the Junior suite again as it is elevated (approx five steps up?) so higher view. Two separate bedrooms. We shut door to room with two singles and took queen bed with the view!

Area not mowed down to water so only had a sliver of river view. It’s possible that is not owned by owners of inn but it would have been soooo wonderfully calming to have a better view of the water to see from the humungous windows that we had in the Junior Suite. Noise thru door adjoining Kitchen or servery? Loads of spiders outside on windows. If you love that part of nature it won’t shock you.

Amazing service. Jon is the epitome of customer service. He called us in advance to confirm our arrival. Unfortunately, when we arrived our room was not made. Jon couldn't be more apologetic about it and gave us a huge discount (room and dinner). He didn't have to do it. I have seen worse in luxury chains and they never cared. Jon has his customer's comfort as first priority. The cleaning service was called and the room was ready in under an hour. We enjoyed dinner at the onsite restaurant (Whats for Dinner). The motel room had massive windows offering panoramic sunrise views which we loved. There were other nice touches like tea/coffee available 24 hrs. A telephone to reach staff if you didn't have a cell phone (or no signal). Overall a fantastic experience.

We didn’t have breakfast there, but it looked lovely. Our room was spotless! The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the view over the river. The wifi was good. We were travelling from Ottawa to Halifax and stopped for a funeral in Tatamagouche. The location was perfect, and the man I spoke with on the phone was very accommodating with our late check in. We would definitely recommend this Motel and would gladly stay there again.

There was nothing lacking at all. We had everything we needed.

The coffeeshop menu was great. Diisappointed that they were not open for early breakfast. (Maybe there is more business opportunity in the late evening than early morning.) We had breakfast at The Subway, not our favourite. The bed was super comfortable. It was quiet - wonder what it is like during busy season. I am acoffee addict so loved that coffee was freely available. I usually find hotel.motel air uncomfortable to breathe but did not have a problem - maybe the heat pump made a difference

They have clearly spent time and money updating and modernizing this motel. Opened the door and actually gasped. Was not expecting to see new bedding, couch, table with chairs etc. Wish this had been the motel we stayed at 2 nights instead of only 1! If we are every nearby again we will definitely stay here again, and would recommend this motel to ANYONE! Staff friendly and handy.

Can't think of a single thing that I would change. It was great.

this place was beautiful, it exceeded my expectations. this was on the third week of traveling and i thought it was going to be just a sleep and get out of there but it was not. The place was totally rehabbed and beautiful, clean, and it was perfect. We walked into town, the location was perfect. It houses a great chicken restaurant that use to be a food truck. It was a great find. The owner was so kind and professional too. A Plus!

The accommodation is just two mins walk from the town & Tata Brewery, which is well worth a visit. There’s a supermarket right opposite for any essentials. The accommodation is extremely well appointed, beds are super comfy & our room was extremely clean. Rooms have a microwave, fridge, hair dryer. Use of an iron is available & there is fresh coffee & tea available around the clock. To the rear of the rooms you have a beautiful view of the lake. Can not fault the Balmoral, husband & wife team are very friendly & the breakfast which is included in the price is a real bonus. Overall, the Balmoral offers excellent value for money which I think you’d be hard pushed to find elsewhere.

This motel is an absolute gem. Tucked along the riverbank, it offers a serene escape with an unbeatable view. The receptionist was not only welcoming but also a wealth of local knowledge, offering fantastic recommendations for activities and where to find the finest microbrewery beers in town. This personalized touch elevated our stay, and we wholeheartedly recommend this spot for a tranquil getaway. We can't wait to return!

The people running this Motel were awesome, we were getting in late and they call ahead to see if we would make it before the front desk closed, she let us know our room number and set us up before we even got there. The room was clean and very comfortable and the Breakfast was amazing, my husband said the breakfast was the best thing he had eaten on our trip eggs and bacon cooked perfect good coffee and many options to go with breakfast. I would stay here again any day!!!
