Location. Close to George, close to the Rooms, close to many pubs and eateries. Generally a quiet street, mostly other guests and patrons of Magnum and Stein's around. While part of the inner core of a city, with the attendant graffiti and such, it felt safe to go out for a cigarette or a short walk around the neighborhood looking for photos...

The last minute nature of getting the check-in information, may trigger your OCD. Travelling around The Rock was brilliant, but it kind of nagged on the brain that I didn't have my check in information.... Running out of coffee on day two, not so great, but we just grabbed some from the convenience store on Queen's Road and soldiered on.

I loved the location and the rooms were beautiful and comfortable. My only complaint was dragging my luggage up and down 3 flights of stairs without assistance from the absentee staff. It's a self-serve inn You,'re on your own..big luggage can be a pain going up 3 flights of twisting stairwells. Still would recommend Duckwork Inn. All in all, I still did like the place. Just don't bring a 28" suitcase or expect help from the lackadaisical, non-existent staff,

Probably with help bringing my suitcase up the stairs. That was my main stress. Some people did try to be helpful but it was random.

Quaint comfortable room. Ease of check in and proximity to downtown. Loved the historical feel of the building.

It is not a dislike as such, but a bit of inconvenience when a person has difficulty with stairs. Obvious signs of the age of the building and a bit of concern regarding the security of entry. We were unable to find the entry code to enter but another couple who were arriving , were kind enough to give it to us. This is probably not ideal and could potentially be a risk to the safety of the Inn, but otherwise we were pleased with our stay. We did not encounter any staff during our stay.

The high ceilings made it feel even more roomy. The room was clean and lovely. Bigger than I expected. Very comfortable bed. Within walking distance to everything in town was great.

Could hear the bell ringing from kitchen frequently throughout the evening, maybe a quieter method might be a better idea. Can hear chatting/louder voices in restaurant at times. They're just having a good time. And it's quiet by around 11 anyway. All understandable with an older building, and hotel with a restaurant right there. And they give you the heads up on all of this anyway.

The room was beautiful! It felt so luxurious. There was a lot of attention paid to the details of the room, which made it feel like a high class European hotel. The coffee, tea, sugar, cups, and kettle provided in the room were very thoughtful and useful. Ample space. The location of the hotel is perfect --- right in front of the parking garage and right on a major street in the heart of downtown. The self check-in/check-out was super convenient, very thoroughly communicated, easy to follow/do, and highly appreciated. While we didn't get the chance to eat at the attached high-end restaurant, it looks elegant and the discount offered to hotel guests was very thoughtful and appreciated. The beds, towels, and facilities were all very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and were so pleasantly surprised with how great the accommodation was, that it truly made our day.

Nothing!

The road parking in front of the Duckworth Inn is good. However, I don't know if they will close it for the summer to put the patio back. The location is very close to the Duke of Duckworth Bar which is perfect for us. We only have to go upstairs to sleep after.

The building and the room are ancient. It needs a little bit of renovation and fresh paint. Everytime we stayed there, seagulls woke us up every morning. Well, we can't do anything about that.

Location was awesome! Easy walking access to everything. Parking on street ir at parking garage across the street

The fridge had a high pitch whine...all the time. T.V. had to swapped out...then heard someone else complain about their TV and they were told it was a cable issue...? We stayed a week, umm ok you don't need to change the sheets, thank you for washing our dishes! BUT the floor was never swept?? I felt like asking for a mop and broom!

The self check in process was very easy. I liked the parking garage across the street. The style of the room was very nice. It was clean and comfortable, and I was glad to have a fridge.

The room was very small. It was fine for myself as a solo traveller but I didn't know it would be so tiny. I also didn't like the noise late at night, but it was a Friday night so I should have expected it.

The Duckworth is mine and my boyfriend’s favourite hotel in St Johns. Everytime we visit the city we want to be downtown, not for the bars but for the feel of downtown. The Duckworth is square downtown, affordable, clean, and the old building is beautiful. I think we have stayed in every room possible now and will never stay in another hotel as long as the Duckworth is available.

Absolutely nothing. The Duckworth hits everything we look for in a hotel

The location was exceptional - very walkable to George St. This is over a 100 year old building and the room was was very comfortable, clean and well worth the value. The staff were exceptionally helpful and I would highly recommend the hotel. There was a great restaurant very close to the hotel - The Duke on Duckworth with the best cod and chips.

Just a caution: there is no elevator and you could be on the 3rd floor. It didn't bother us, but others may have difficulty with this.
