JAG Boutique Hotel

The room was very comfortable and large. The air conditioning was also a bonus as St Johns was having a heatwave when we arrived. The little gym was great too. The door people were super friendly. Very close to all the sights of St Johns,

The staff member at check in wasnt super friendly but she seemed honestly a little stressed. We wanted to have breakfast in the restaurant but waited at the entrance for a few minutes and no one came to greet us or sit us. They saw us and made eye contact but never came over. Also there is only valet parking - no free parking unless you chance it on the street.

Very happy with our room, the decor and ambiance, and the hotel's rock 'n roll theme. The view from our 5th floor room was interesting. We had a bird's-eye view to watch cargo ships in the port being unloaded which was fascinating. The hotel bar was great with good service and plenty of options for beer and mixed drinks. (Didn't order any wine, so no opinion there.) The location is within easy walking distance to an array of pubs, restaurants, and bars on George Street.

No complaints about the hotel or the vicinity. When we stayed, there was construction going on in the neighborhood that made it tough to get to the front doors, but a bit of looping and we made it. Looks like that should be finished fairly soon and it wouldn't stop me from staying there again. Our first stay we lucked into free parking across the street and went with that. For our second stay, the free parking was full, so we just used the valet and that was perfect.

We liked that it was walking distance to pretty much everything. The staff were awesome and very friendly .I'd diffently stay again when I return next year .

I didn't like the fact that their wasn't much parking that was free , they had valet parking, which was nice, but when you're on a budget and you 9 expect to have free parking when your staying for a few nights .

Our whole experience at The JAG was great. We used the Exile restaurant for several breakfasts, some lunches and some dinners - great menu, excellent food and staff. Perfect location for downtown St John's area - only a few short walking blocks from Water Street, George Street, Duckworth and Harbour Drive huge tourist/bar/restaurant/shops scene. We booked and enjoyed a king bed room - lovely, with couch area, mini fridge, two desk areas, 42 " TV, free cable, large bathroom, with shower. Reception, concierge, front door and service staff were all attentive, helpful and excellent. Really extensive, incredible and amazing collection of music memorabilia decor in reception, restaurant, bar, hallways, elevators, room and every area, - Dylan, Stones, Bowie, The Clash, Elvis, Willie Nelson, Ray Charles and many more iconic music performers - almost a Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. And music from all these incredible performers and groups piped throughout the entire hotel. Excellent, enjoyable and very tolerable, not blasting, just very nostalgic and really enjoyable - lived up to their motto on the bottom of their food menus "Here at JAG we believe music is created to be heard and not be in the background. We hope you enjoy our selections" We certainly did. First channel when you turned on the TV was the JAG music channel, so you could enjoy the music just by turning on the TV and leaving it there. Really inventive glassware that looked like an iceberg or sail.

Truly, nothing we didn't like.

It was clean and unique. The food at the on-site restaurant was excellent. I really enjoyed the people at the door who were always ready to open the door for you and were very helpful. I also loved the showers - you had the choice of a regular shower head or the extra large rain head in the ceiling. The best part was the dental floss holder on the wall, every hotel should have one!

There were no bathroom fans and not enough places to hang towels in the bathroom if you are travelling with 4.

The music, the decor, the staff, valet, restaurant, cleanliness, and friendliness and location - could not ask for more - overall a very good vibe ! And really quiet and comfortable beds - the list can go on and in 😀

The fan in bathroom did not work and the coffee pot leaked a little and the room rate did not include breakfast - all minor inconvenience that would have been helpful but not enough of a problem to warrant an issue - everything else made up for these inconveniences

The JAG hotel is right at the edge of the restaurant district of St. John's with awesome rooms and hip decoration (music/stars). The room was super spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend the breakfast for the next morning. Very yummy and great value for money. Little watch-out - next door is currently a cosntruction site, but no impact by the noise.

What a great place to stay! The people were friendly. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was walking distance to downtown St. John's. There's a tour desk, but it wasn't manned when we were there, but easy enough to book online with a JAG hotel pick up. There's a computer/printer at the back of the first floor (I didn't know until I had to leave), but they gladly helped me print something at the reception. I would stay here again, if ever at St. John's.

Nothing really.

-the staff! customer service is like 6* -Amazing shower, super comfy bed -There was a fridge, a nice sunrise view if you look above the shipping containers, someone willing to help the best they can (Newfie style!) -great location -room service -TV channels -Lovely chat with bartender at the Exile restaurant

-The late check in time (4pm) -no microwave in the rooms -broken Keurig was inconvenient for us as my bf needs coffee in the mornings but to credit the customer service: they brewed us coffee and brought it up when asked - even at 4:45am! -no slippers, but they had robes when we asked for those (apparently they don’t just have them in the rooms since Covid -no bathroom fan (if it was broken I forgot to mention it to the staff) -not a fan of the construction happening but that is what it is - they will have extra amenities soon once it’s done

Everything. From the decor to the valet parking. Staff was exceptional and seemed happy to work there.

Really, there was not much to dislike. Everyone was helpful and engaging. Getting there was a bit of an issue, but that was because of construction. Also, the hold on your credit card was hard to understand. But the staff at the reception gladly helped me. It was resolved, and I would highly recommend this place.
