Best Western PLUS Port O'Call Hotel

they listens to my every request! We got the room facing downtown so we were able to watch the fireworks with the family without having to go out, they had four glasses for our New Year’s Eve juice with the kids.. everything else was perfect, and we would recommend anyone to go.. even our room service was cooked with love. it was so yummy! kids were happy with the pool. staff was helpful & made us feel comfortable.

the only things was that my ice machine was down on the fifth floor and had to go to 1st floor to get ice and during the evenings the restaurant was closed so couldn’t get ice & that the hot tub wasn’t working the first night we were there.

The Port o call is awesome. However the upside to staying here, along with the professional staff and great service was the shuttle service. However It has been discontinued since COVID. I have been a guest at the port o call many times however the price of the room is as much or more than similar accommodations closer to the airport, with airport shuttle services. I travel a lot and even though I love the people and accommodations at the port o call, staying there simply does not make financial sense anymore and I am afraid I will be looking at other options moving forward

We love the pool and the water slides , always a hit, ample outside parking, very friendly staff, the beds were comfortable and the room was overall very clean and comfortable

Would like the availability to indicate whether we want pool side and whether or not we want to be in a room with the “cabana” or not. This may be a booking.com issue though not a best western issue. If your vehicle is close to the 6ft tall it cannot go in underground parking as the cement pillar is bowed a bit in the roof

Room was upgrated, Original was wrong information, should have a sofa for 2 persons to sleep, was not correct told by phone, solved by upgrading to another room by manager, good service. We were informed that there was a shuttle service from Toronto airport to Best western, This was not true!! We had self to find out how to get there, no good after 12 hours of traveling !!

Real information how to go from airport to hotel, not 250 meters to walk, but 15 min with a cap!!!!

The room size and furnishings was great. Loved having a sink outside of the bathroom as well.

The shower head squealed almost the entire duration of a shower. The toilet dripped/leaked from inside the tank the whole time. And the bathroom door squeaked if you didn’t open/close it quickly. But as long as you kept the door shut, it really was fine! People on our floor failed to observe/care about being in their rooms or quiet late into the night.

First, the security. You need to use your room keys to use elevator and open doors throughout the hotel, preventing non guests from wandering around. Felt very safe. The pool was amazing. A small one for the little ones with it'sown little water slide, and a bigger one with 2 slides for the rest of us, plus another (quieter) pool down one level, next to the gym. 3 hot tubs, 2 up and 1 down. Two on-site restaurants, one buffet style, one a bar and lounge with menu options. Only had the opportunity to try the restaurant with the buffet and it was good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay here again.

Pool had a very low number of towels and the towels were not very large, thereby causing water trails throughout the halls and elevators.

The pool and slides were amazing for the kids! They had a blast for hours each day. Honestly probably had as much fun at the hotel as all the other excursions we did while in Calgary. Nice that there are restaurants attached to the hotel.

The pillows weren't great. Basically the whole hotel just has the pool smell and most places just felt wet. If you're there for the pool, it's worth it. If not, I would chose elsewhere. You need to have the key cards for everywhere! they say it's just after 6pm but that wasn't the case - so remember you key cards when you go to the pool because you can't get up the elevator or stairs without!!!

It was a bit older but the upgraded room was spacious and comfortable. The cupboards around the mini fridge could be redone and extra hooks for towels/swimwear would be a great up grade.

When we got into the room it was quite hot. The service guys were super quick to come to the room and adjust the temp. After about 24hrs it was almost too cold. Would have been nice to have control of the temperature in the room.

Overall, the hotel is in a great spot, close to plenty of restaurants/fast food places, Grocery stores, gas stations, etc.. The airport was a 12 minute drive. The water park was also quite fun, although the children’s water play area looked significantly different aesthetically than in the photos advertised online. The slide that looks like it was made out of decorative rocks, is actually just a rusty yellow slide. The pools were rather cold in my family‘s opinion, but the pool on the lowest level of the hotel that I’m assuming is more so meant for adults, was a lovely quiet place to take a swim away from screaming kids that were having fun. The restaurant on site has an amazing breakfast Buffet. The rooms were average, comfortable. With the exception of the service staff being scolded by the front desk managers for not cleaning a room that in their opinion they thought they had cleaned quite well, all of the staff are very friendly and courteous.

The staff was terrific, especially when we had an emergency and had to extend the room at the last minute. Ravinder from the morning restaurant is a fantastic guy - dealing well with the guests and attending to them enthusiastically. Kids love the pool (which is what makes us come to this place for the third time)

The bed needs to be stiffer than the one they have currently (It literally sinks when one of us wants to get up). Also, the pillow is too fluffy for our taste. The attitude of the restaurant staff in the evening is not the best.
