This is most delightful B&B I have ever stayed in. I love antiques and vintage, and Iris has collected and decorated with many beautiful pieces that all seem to have a story. My room was very comfortable and cozy. Both Iris and Peter went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and pampered. I really enjoyed chatting with them, too. The location is excellent for walking around the historic center. Peter gave me great recommendations for restaurants, shops and things to do. Breakfast was lovely, with a huge variety of choices. I would return in a heartbeat!

Nothing about the property, but just note that a nearby street is being redone, which taxi drivers might not know about. Ask Peter about the best route when you go.

Poppy's is a true bed and breakfast in the best sense. The room is sumptuous with a comfortable bed, large bathroom and even air conditioning. The small touches were evident throughout, like the handmade chocolates on our pillows. The breakfast was delicious, made even better by the time spent with our host Peter. We enjoyed talking to a local and he had many good suggestions that enhanced our visit. He even helped me carry my bag up to the room.

I didn't arrive in Bruge as planned due to a massive train delay in Germany and a rail strike in Belgium. The host patiently stayed in touch while my plans kept on changing. The facilities are really great. Squeaky clean, totally over-the-top charming, and the bed and duvet were so comfy, that I hated to get up. Breakfast included tea, croissants, Belgian sausage and cheese, plus fruit. I had to leave very early the next day. My hosts arranged my taxi and prepared really great pic-nic breakfast. The location of the B&B is in a quiet area of town, away from the tourist hordes, (easily walkable though). For my my primary interest was the Lace Museum and that was extremely convenient. In fact if one were enrolled in a lace-making class, which I would like to suggest as a worthwhile endeavor, Poppy B&B would be the perfect base.

Everything was above and beyond what I have come to expect after spending quite a few nights in various establishments.

The place was an eclectic mix of Peter and Iris’s passion for collecting things. It was like stepping back in time. More importantly, Peter and Iris made our lovely holiday in Bruges even more special. They are super hospitable and the breakfast was like a banquette. They go above and behold and are excellent hosts. Peter is a knowledge of information about Bruges and thanks to him we we were able to plan our sightseeing smarter. I 100% recommend staying at Peter and Iris’s quirky place, if you don’t want the run of the mill minimalistic corporate feel, this is the place for you. It’s not just somewhere to lay your head, it’s an experience and part of your holiday. …and you may end up like us spending two hours at breakfast talking with a great couple (the other guests) from Canada, we didn’t stop talking over our amazing banquette ! There was absolutely nothing I didn’t like.

This is a quirky and fascinating place to stay! The interior has to be seen to be believed in terms of the antiques and furnishings that have been collected over many years. The breakfast was exceptional in both content and presentation. Our wonderful hosts, Peter and Iris, had spent significant care and time in preparing a feast on one of the most ornate, exquisite and colourful tables ever seen.

It was a shame there was no street parking, although we knew that in advance. The entrance hall was charming but a little chaotic on arrival!

If I had to describe my stay with one word, it would be "Stunning". As antiques and heritage lover, I really appreciated the history of the B&B building and of course, the decor. The stay felt very personal as the hosts actually took time to chat with me about the building, various items of interest, places to visit and life in general in Brugge and Belgium et cetera. They were also very flexible on luggage arrangements, which was a huge relief to me. Breakfast was great - lots of variety and really tasty local produce all set in a beautifully decorated room. The room was actually more than I hoped for - spacious, comfortable, clean, lovely decor, and also had air con which was vital to have during a heatwave. Finally, I really liked the location as it was not exactly in the busy touristic area but more in a calm, and peaceful residential street. Still, I could walk to the city center and main attractions in less than 10 minutes!

Peter and Iris and Miss Poppy are amazing hosts! The breakfast was outstanding and it’s different everyday. We enjoy chatting with them. It was nice to stay in a heritage listed home with lots of character and charm. It’s walking distance to the town centre. We highly recommend this place.

No lift but it’s not a big issue because of the age of the property. Peter was very helpful.

Everything about it was top notch! Iris & Peter have done a beautiful job of decorating & in making their guests comfortable. They were most helpful with recommendations & parking, etc. It was such a pleasure being there for our “One Night in Brugge”! My daughter & I only wish we could have stayed longer. We felt very happy that the Procession of the Holy Blood took place on the day that we were there, quite by accident on our part & fully explained by Peter.

Nothing at all! It was perfect for us however there were stairs to climb but Peter managed all of our luggage for us so it was fine.

The place is located in a quiet area. The room and bathroom are beautifully decorated (like a princess' room :-) Less than 10min walk to the old town centre. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful (packed my breakfast to take away as I had to leave early in the morning). They got up early to make sure the taxi driver they called for me arrived on time. the breakfast was well prepared with sufficient choices (salami, smoke salmon, bread, fruit, juice etc or other things you want). Absolutely enjoyed the stay.

We absolutely loved the house of Peter & Iris! The location is perfect, just off the busy touristy streets, and really easy to reach! The bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was delicious on both days! We also appreciated all the tips Peter gave us which made out visit to Brugge even better! Plus the extra history lesson :) 100 % RECOMMEND!
