Hotel Intorno Al Fico

My husband, Grand-daughter and I needed an overnight stay, close to the airport, to go home to the U.S. and were very pleased with our stay. The location was perfect. Easy to find, close to restaurants, fuel and especially the airport. We felt that we walked into a little oasis when the gate opened! All the staff were friendly, professional and courteous. We booked two rooms, well in advance, and were pleased to find that everything was ready for us. Our rooms were charming and comfortable - and very clean. The morning breakfast was wonderful. There was a wide variety of food and everything we had was fresh and delicious. We will return when back in the area and will recommend to anyone needing an overnight stay near the airport. This is charming small hotel (only 6 rooms) that is a mere 2 minute walk away from the beach. It is attractive, well maintained, and comfortable. Each room has it’s own outside sitting area. We were in room 4 and it has a cushioned L-shaped stone bench that was surprisingly comfortable. The common areas are very nice. There are a couple of roof terraces if you want some quiet time. Breakfast is served 7 to 9:30 and it is your standard continental breakfast buffet, but the cappuccinos are delicious and made to order. Dinner was also very good and prices reasonable. However, there is a restaurant just a short walk away called I Cinque Scalini that has amazing food. Don’t miss it if you stay at the hotel, the gnocchi was awesome. I can’t say enough good things about the staff at the hotel. They were just fantastic. I highly recommend this place. Just be aware that the beach restaurants and bars, that are all super easy to get to and of which Altamarea is the best, are only open from May to mid September. We were lucky to be there in time to enjoy them and the beach.

This is totally understandable for a small hotel that needs to stay flexible but the “king” bed was actually two twins pushed together. Not the most comfortable although the mattress was good.

We stayed here overnight before departing the Rome airport on an early plane. When we arrived, there was a constant stream of noisy aircraft taking off from the nearby airport. We worried that the planes would make it impossible to sleep. But the Intorno al Fico has installed heavy wooden doors that cover the heavy glass door to each room, and these very effectively blocked noise. The manager was very helpful in helping us into our room and in answering questions we had.

Very quaint and comfortable. The staff was outstanding and very accommodating. A short 2 block walk to the beach! The food was surprisingly excellent. They need to talk up their apertivo that was amazing. We had dinner too and it was quite lovely and excellent quality. All an unexpected pleasure! We even watched the beautiful sunset from the roof top sun deck!

Not many restaurants within walking distance. Close to the airport with planes…but the noise was very tolerable and we needed convenience to the airport for travel arrangements.

We only needed a place near the airport for one night. Rome is a 45 minute to an hour drive from the airport. We found the facility and the staff exceptional. Very close to the beach with a beautiful open space just a few blocks away. It is a great place to stay on your way home or to get over jet lag. I wish we had more time there.

Since it’s right next to the airport there are numerous jets coming and going all day long. The airport closes at night so there is no noise at night. The rooms all have thick walls so they are pretty soundproof.

location, we leased a Peugeot and the hotel is just down the road from the pickup location. it is not a boutique area but this is what we like about it. The Beach is nearby and airport only 10 minutes away. if you arrive at the airport remember to go to the local taxi stand (orange sign) and the taxi will cost E30. We have stayed in this area many times and it is safe and convenient. The hotel is safe and full of light and the breakfast is good.

I highly recommend the Intorno Al Fico Hotel. My daughter and I stayed for one night prior to flight back to USA in a first floor double room at this beach property. Picture and description of property on Booking.com match. Stefano was so friendly and communicative from initial reservation made to saying goodbye to us at the airport. Wish I spoke better Italian, but he spoke great English. He accommodated an early check in and early morning transfer to FCO Airport at 7am. Great wifi. Bed very comfortable. Concrete floors in room - perfect for sandy toes and you'll have them when you walk on the lovely Malibu Beach, a mere block away. Small restaurant available on site, pizzeria/cafe across the street, on beach places to eat short walking distance away within 5 to 15 minutes. Beach area crowded on weekend but cleared out by 7 pm, at least it did on the Sunday we were there. You won't go wrong staying here and with revenge travel in full swing now that Covid restrictions are easing up - book soon! Thanks for a great short stay!

Wonderful stay! For breakfast I had a dekicuous high quality croissant which i enjoyed with a cappuccino in the charming courtyard. The property is about a block from the beach which was the perfect place to go on a beautiful morning. The location is about 15 min from the airport which makes it great for layovers. This place was much better than staying in a stuffy airport hotel in that one feels that they are still on vacation! Staff was lovely and was able to drive me to the airport. Thank you!

It was different. Very pleasant and staff is very friendly and informative. The beach is beautiful and quiet. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. Room is not very big but super comfortable and clean. Nearby Burger Bar has good food!

We arrived on Sunday, so getting to and from anywhere can be difficult/expensive. Transfer to the airport is 20 euro. So if you need to get to and fro Rome… that’s 85 euro for two person(train to Rome termini is 14 euro per person). Direct one way trip to Rome is 65 euro. On Monday, most restaurants are closed except for Burger Bar which is about 25 mins walk away… but the food is well worth it.

Due to us testing positive for Covid we had to delay our arrival. The hotel was kind enough to allow us to change our date with the results of our test. We could only get a very late train to Rome. The hotel left the front door as well as room and put our room keys on the bed for our arrival. They had a plate of fruit, cheese and crackers for us as well. Loved the location and the charm!

When we needed to catch a cab for our 10 AM flight to the USA - We could not reach a cab service, or find anyone in the hotel to call a cab for us. Another guest that was catching the same flight, had his cab driver call another driver to come and pick us up! Staff should be on duty especially for those with early departures.
