Dorsett Wanchai, Hong Kong

Perfect location for access to WanChai and Causeway Bay. Very clean hotel and rooms. Friendly staff and always willing to help with taxis, questions etc.

WiFi didn't work in hotel room only in the lobby and bar area. Drinks very expensive from the bar. Over £10 for a pint of lager, sometimes no staff on the bar and having to wait for over ten minutes for staff to arrive in the bar area. The hotel seems a little on the expensive side for what you get. I paid extra for a view of causeway bay however I was only on the 5th floor so not high enough to see anything. The only view was of the building opposite. Disappointed with that part. I did mention to reception however this was the only room available apparently.

It has free shuttle for the nearest MTR for free, which is time and money saver. When I lost my phone they help us find the bus we rode and returned my phone.

The hotel was to my expectations and I enjoyed my stay there.

The bar fridge wasnt working and it is too small,way too small, for the money I paid surely you could have a bigger fridge. If you come to a western country hotel they supply a fridge big enough to cater for 3 - 4 people. Also the bathroom does not have a toilet brush ?? I dont expect the cleaners to clean up after me especially when I don't need the room cleaned everyday. 3. the shuttle bus is inconsistant where it stops going into town and returning, also I found out when I left HK that the shuttle service picks up guests at 'Central' station to take to the Hotel which you dont mention in your intro to HK Island ?? But in saying this this fridge ,toilet brush issue is an asian thing , no matter where you go.

Unlike other hotels that i tried to book, Dorsett was the only one that offered a good breakfast included in the room price. although the location at the onset was disappointing, once we got the hang of it, the location is actually excellent and is in a part of town that has everything at better prices. Restos, shopping etc.

The concierge gave very bad directions. They are men and being men, they are not detailed minded and directions were not specific and clear. Better to change to one or two ladies concierge.

Comfortable clean room, the hotel has good transport links with tram, bus stop directly outside

The room was very nice, but small. This is to be expected of a hotel room in Hong Kong, though. Our room was pointed towards the intersection, but this was actually very nice and fun for the kids to watch traffic at night with all the lights. The staff also had a welcoming gift for our son, which was a very nice touch.

This was our second stay at Dorsett Wanchai and we still very much like the property. The only thing is its location. Even though there is a bus stop "around the corner" and a Tram station right in front, it is actually quite a walk a sometimes cumbersome to get to the hotel, especially with kids.

This was my second stay at Dorsett Wanchai (first time was in 2019), and I clearly came back because I loved our stay here. The room was very clean and not too small (a lot of rooms in the city are tiny). The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly at all times. Breakfast was great when we went earlier and it wasn't as busy. When it was busy we were put at a table with other people which wasn't super comfortable for us introverted people, but I gather it happens a lot in HK restaurants.

The room had an interconnecting door to the room next to it, which was not soundproof at all. You could hear everything the neighbours did and I'm sure they heard us as well. Not great for light sleepers like myself. The location isn't the best but I loved starting our day with a tram ride so it didn't bother me as much as it might some others. The machine selling drinks and snacks were a huge bonus but didn't work well during our stay.

I love the staffs especially thr manager. Initially I was frustrated because the staffs didn't inform me I got breakfast for my 1st stay. But when I check in 2nd round,they informed me I got breakfast so I delighted with their services. The best service is my 3rd stay transit from 3 pax to 2 pax room, my mom was sick and I told the staffs my mom was having fever and she need the bed to rest while transit to small room they really did this seamless transit for me. Same floor from room 1718 to 1701 and I happy to move my luggage myself.. very very delighted. One more thing I made mistake booked wrongly till 3 Mar but they willing to convert to complimentary breakfast.. very very delighted with their commitment and put client as top priority.

Just a bit inconvenient but compliment with shuttlebus.. fantastic.

Next to the jockey club You can run round there

Staff pretty cold and very slow. I ordered beers foe the room i went downstairs after 2 hours and they just handed them to me The laundry service 2 days if you put in after 10am it was 10.10 am ugh The coffee and water weren't topped up

I liked the breakfast a lot. It was really good with both Chinese and Western cuisine available. I also liked my room very much, although I would have like a higher floor than the one I was on. The view to the city did not come off as I was not high enough to see it. But it was still a great room, and there was a good view across the street below and toward the side of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Next time, I will think I will ask for a room facing the mountain side where the old cemeteries are. I love old cemeteries. The ones that are next to the hotel are a major highlight of Hong Kong and should not be missed. I know them well and that is why I decided to try out the city view this time. For my next stay I will request the mountain side view. Great hotel. Highly recommended.
