Les Gourmets - Chalet Hotel

Staff are always very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic, the pool is a win in the summer with a great view too. Nice area to relax next to the river after a long day in the mountains and it is always clean. We had a late transfer to the airport and was able take a shower in the downstairs bathroom after a sweaty day in the mountains (and they provided towels) which was incredible and greatly appreciated. I have stayed here before and will again, it is generally one of the first hotels I look at when going to Chamonix.

I asked for a river side room given as I know it cools down a bit at night which is very helpful as the rooms don't have aircon or fans so it gets incredibly hot in the summer. Unfortunately this could not be provided and also couldn't sleep with curtains open to get fresh air in as there is currently a construction site opposite the hotel and flashing lights from the crane The rooms on the street side can get quite noisy late at night/early morning with restaurants at street level and people returning after a night out, so cant really leave windows/doors open for air in the heat.

Hotel is very cozy. We were very happy with our room. ( Junior Suite ) There is a garden behind breakfast room. The garden looks to Arve river. Perfect place for a tea or coffee. Breakfast is OK, you may encounter freshly baked bread which tasted excellent. Staff is very friendly. There is a good italian restaurant in 1 min. walking distance. Hotel is placed near a lot of restaurants and shops. Bathroom was superb, you get hot water in a second.

Unfortunately, there is an ongoing construction nearby as of August '23. Perhaps it's not the same for all rooms but we had a lot of noise. ( room 403 ) There is no air conditioning. We opened all the windows, it was more or less OK. One night there was a fire alarm because one guy in reception tried to heat some bread. He could go through the floors and tell people that there is nothing to worry. At first day, my wife found the bed sheets not in the cleanest condition. Our room key cards broke down from time to time.

Stunning location, pretty little village of Chamonix, the view from.our balcony was to die for, watching the sun rise over the Mont Blanc Massif, absolutely breathtaking.😍 Rooms are on the small.side.,but then you don't need more. Bed was comfy, I would have liked to have a mini fridge in the room but there was none. Breakfast was ok, for 15 euro/person. Hotel.is located very centrally, close to the main street with shops and restaurants. In the summer they have a pool as well. Overall a nice stay, I would go again for sure.

Lack of a fridge in the room

Great location at a great price within walking distance of most things in town. One of our rooms had a gorgeous view of Mont Blanc, and it was very peaceful to have a nap with the window open and the sounds of the river below. They made sure we could eat breakfast a half hour before they officially opened so we could get on the road to catch a flight! They gave us bus passes for our time in town, which turned out to be very useful. Breakfast was good, for a reasonable additional fee. Nice to have a mini fridge!

The shower took about 8 min to warm up. It did eventually though! No electric sockets by the beds (so I charged my phone in the bathroom) and the electric kettle wasn’t working. Parking is a bit of a hassle as you can’t park right by the hotel. One of the rooms had a view of a construction site.

The view from the room was the best I’ve ever had at a hotel room!! Family room was well appointed and super comfortable for the 4 of us. The hotel has a homey and casual vibe. Great location close to everything in town. With a few small changes this could be a really amazing hotel.

The worst was that the smoking area was right under the balcony to the room, and we had to keep our windows open due to the heat outside (and for some reason one of the radiators was on!) besides the smoking by patrons, The smoking by employees actually woke us up in the middle of the night— we were sleeping just a few feet above their heads. The first night of two and the kids wanted to swim in the pool, but it was absolutely dirty and unswimmable until our second day when it got cleaned. I never saw the sauna but would have used it if I knew where it was. Internet is very, very weak. We didn’t get the breakfast— it would have cost 46 euro (15 per adult, 8/kid) for the four of us, which seemed steep for small bites, especially since we can’t eat dairy.

Chamonix is of course quite expensive, but this was the most affordable hotel I found at the last minute and I'm very satisfied. The option to rent time in the sauna (15 euro per hour) was a nice perk that I enjoyed with friends. The lounge area and bar looked nice but I didn't get to spend time there. Everything was clean and well kept, staff was helpful and spoke English, my room had a nice balcony, and the location in town is very convenient but also relatively quiet.

Considering the price of the room, would be nice if breakfast was included. It was a little too expensive so I only ate there once, then found other options on my own. However, the breakfast on my first morning was very good.

This place has great location. Great view to Mt.Blanc from the balconies facing west. Bathroom had a large window facing the mountains in the north, so you can enjoy nice views while taking a shower. Friendly staff.

Breakfast is good if you don't have any food restrictions, but don't expect to find much gluten-free or lactose-free to eat. There was no tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce etc. green stuff available.

Amazing place The hotel staff is very welcoming and friendly. We were also pleased to see that they were able to speak languages other than French, ideal if French is not your first language. Also, the hotel is very clean and has nice bathrooms. We also thank them for making a special room for our romantic weekend (florist) we recommend you 100%

We did not find anything extremely negative, just some points for improvement. Perhaps some improvements in lunch. Offer fresh fruits instead of fruit salad in syrup, or alternatives to pork for brunch.

In a great location (next to the river) and it’s styled in a lovely traditional fashion - quaint, yet thoughtful fun / stylish touches. The night Porter (male) was super friendly, fun, kind and professional.

The shower room in the single bedroom was minute - you had to squeeze (breath in!) past the loo in order to access the shower. And pull out the bin from under a counter, in order to use it (insufficient room). Anyone claustrophobic, large framed or chunky would struggle. Also, there was frequently a dreadful sewage odour emanating from within there - possibly U bend not sealed - water trapped in system, moved as guests used their bathrooms😬 Hey, but other than that, it was fine - not in Chamonix to stay in the loo/ shower/bathroom!

Location was great, super central, also close to the bus station and Aguille du Midi lifts. The rooms were clean and well maintained. We also had a nice balcony and a view to Mont Blanc, which was amazing.

The reception didnt have the room ready for the indicted time frame and we had to chase them multiple times for the keys as they kept pushing the timeline. the reception staff could have been more considerate and in general nicer than they were. This is definitely an area for improvement. We have requested a double bedroom but what we got was two single beds put together (although the mattress seemed okay / this wasn’t a big issue).
