Hotel Le Morgane

Very clean and excellent location near the main food and shopping area. Staff was helpful and has a small street side bar for crowd watching . Plenty of cheap eats nearby , laundry and excellent bakery across the road . Cannot fault the position as it's near the Mont Blanc gondola ride and all amenities .

Breakfast was average and could improve . Never mind there is popular French bakery with queues every morning lining up for typical French bakery items and nice sandwiches

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Communication was easy as staff spoke English and our French is not good. Location for UTMB activities was excellent. The bathroom was great - roomy with bathtub and shower.

Room was kind of small for 3 people with little room for suitcases. There was one wardrobe but it did not provide much storage. Also the separate shower did not have a seal at the bottom of the shower door so water flooded the bathroom floor when the shower was used.

Lea is the best example of hotel staff, many thanks to her, the location is perfect, swimming pool and sauna are fantastic, the is a staff doing night shift he is nice and very helpful

AC is there but not functioning, no variety on food menu, there is a phone in the room but it is not working nor connected and even it is not possible to connect

The staff were all very friendly and so helpful to us and our dog. Location brilliant. Restaurant for dinner and breakfast very good cannot fault. In all the staff, food and location very good.

The pillows on the beds are awful. I didn't have a good night's sleep in the week I stayed. Please invest in better pillows! It was a pity we couldn't have light snacks or meals while sitting in the bar having a drink. It wouldn't take much to do light meals there. The bedroom was very hot! No air conditioning and when the door was open it was very noisy. I'm afraid we didn't sleep at all well at the hotel. I asked for new pillows but they were still awful. The carpet in the hall on our floor was stained it needs a bit of updating. The sauna wasn't hot and we only used it once so bot good.

This hotel is ideally located for visiting the Aiguille du midi, the Mont Blanc viewpoint. It was a great hotel worth staying in in every way for the price, and I was very satisfied with my stay. First of all, because I was in such a hurry to check out, I left some items in my hotel room without realizing it. The hotel kindly sent a text message to my cell phone along with photos of the items. However, my flight schedule did not allow me to return to the hotel to retrieve my lost items. The hotel even kindly sent the items to my home via international mail. I've traveled a lot around the world, but this was my first time seeing a hotel service that kindly sent lost items like this hotel, and I was very impressed. Thank you again to the hotel staff.

Th horel is in great location. Close to a Chamonix bus station and lively main street. Ski lift is 650 m away unless you plan to do an off-ski, then Aquille du Midi ski lift is 250 m, but it is not a ski resort up there. Worth a visit though. The hotel has it's own ski shuttle to ski lifts - very convenient. The staff was helpful and nice! Overall it is a good hotel, some little extras would make it excellent.

We were disappointed about the spa experience as the area seemed bigger in the pictures. There is very little room next to a pool to relax, just 4 chairs. A large part of pool area is just shallow water. I hope one day they will redesign this and leave more room for relaxing with relax beds. I believe a great designer good make a miracle to that basement. Breakfast was overall good but it lacked greens - like salad leaves, cucumber, fresh tomato, etc. something to add to a sandwich. I also missed boiled eggs. There was a possibility to order omelets and fried eggs for extra money. The croissants and other bakery items were really good.

The best thing about Le Morgane is the shuttle van service between the hotel and the numerous lift areas (did not ride the town bus once in five days of skiing) We really liked our room with a terrace. The Spa was amazing after a long day of skiing the staff really, really great. The room was fine but nothing special and value for money good but slightly expensive.

Late night Thursday check-in was not great; wrong bed set up; room swaps; no ski passes. All sorted in the end but a bit chaotic. Amnesia nightclub next door is loud until 4-5 am on Friday and Saturday. Mind you we were there St. Patty's.

The Morgane is a really good hotel in an ideal location close to the centre of Chamonix. The staff are very friendly and helpful. On-site car parking can be reserved at 15 EUR per day. The restaurant is excellent, and the comprehensive breakfast is a bargain at 18 EUR per person.

Unfortunately, the experience was spoiled by a later charge of 15 EUR against my credit card, for items (crisps, nuts etc) which we were accused of taking from the mini-bar / counter in the bedroom, but which we had not done (and had said so at check-out). I challenged this by e-mail, and was promptly refunded, but it was disappointing when you consider that we had spent over 2,300 EUR on our week's stay. We later had a profuse apology from the management.

The Hotel is very central to Chamonix and all the shops and restaurants are only a short walk. The room is very comfortable as is the bathroom and separate toilet. Towels were really thick. Car parking on-site is very reasonably priced compared to the nearby public car parks. Staff are very helpful and friendly

The big issue is the very weak wifi. Browsing web pages or google maps was very slow and the connection dropped out frequently

We booked parking but it wasn’t available on arrival so had to park in the more expensive underground car park, we did get the first night at the cheaper price, arrival instructions could be clearer it was almost impossible to find the car park
