This hotel is the proof that a 2/3 star hotel can still provide 5-star levels of service and comfort, if they want to. The room, although small, has been designed to maximize its space. The beds/linen are very comfortable (I've stayed in many 4/5-star hotels that couldn't provide this level of comfort). Spotlessly clean room; fluffy towels: great shower and amenities, and a TV with local channels + good-quality WiFi. Continental breakfast is provided with great quality ingredients and sufficient to get your day started. Last but not least, the staff members are just lovely and that makes a huge difference in your experience too. A huge thank-you note to Camelia & Florin who were always genuinely very kind, responsive and attentive.

The staff were great, really helpful with directions and timetables. The location was excellent, so handy for the centre of Chamonix, the train station, cable cars, bars and restaurants. The best thing about the room was the shower! I didn't have the breakfast but it all looked very substantial for continental.

My issue was with the room, it's size and lack of light. Why anyone would paint a smallish double room's ceiling a very dark colour is beyond me. I had requested an upgrade if possible and as far as I was concerned this had been confirmed in advance stating my special request had been approved at 'no extra charge' I was hoping for a terrace or at least a small balcony but this wasn't the case when I arrived, hence my low rate for room expectation. I think the room was very expensive for what it was

Very, very clean. The location is perfect. Walk distance to all main cable cars, ski lfts, the train station, bus staion. 10m away from the main street, super market -next door. The stuff at the reception is really very nice, very helpfull and friendly, speaks English. I had a beautiful view from my room but be careful when you ara booking the room. There are rooms with windows at the top, near the roof. There can be problems if you have claustrophobia

WiFi is not stable. It didn't work 2 days out of 4. It should be written on the hotel's page. (I had similir problems at home. Cheap equipment, cheap provider- no Internet)

Everything was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Previously it was mentioned about how great the breakfast was(13e each) but maybe it’s just me, it was average, and after the first day we decided to find stuff on our own. even though we only had a two night stay, they cleaned the room after the first night which I find exceptional. They also have a safe storage room that you can put your things in if you’re not leaving immediately after you check out. The only thing that could improve this little gem is if there was a small mini fridge so you could keep a small amount of things cool for your stay. 

Location, Staff and Views are incredible... Front desk was very accommodating.. Pet Friendly, Close to everything in town, especially the Super U Super market n shops. Very central

I went at the wrong time of the year.. so what is usually a kinda quiet city, was absolutely packed and loud. This is not the hotels fault, but be aware of events in town before you book.

the staff were exceptional, we arrived with last minute booking after hire car breakdown they made our lives so much easier they all spoke perfect English, they went over and above and helped us sort hire car and alternative transport couldn’t recommend enough recently refurbished hotel very warm, clean and fresh location is literally best in chamonix right in the Middle of all amenities and only a short 2 min walk to bus / train and taxi points

nothing all was great

Excellent location in the heart of Chamonix. Our room also had a fantastic view and an extremely comfortable bed. We booked at the last minute but were delighted to get a parking spot as well (must make sure you reserve it in advance!). Everything was just perfect, we'll definitely return to La Verticale next time we're in the valley.

Nothing to complain about really.

Good value. Bunk bed rooms are tiny, but for a trip, where we are only there to sleep, and to ski, that was all we needed. Clean facilities, and large ski room. Incredibly central location in the middle of downtown Chamonix.

The room got really hot at night. The radiator was not very adjustable, so we had to leave the window open, which introduces a lot of street noise at night.

We liked the central location, the excellent & friendly staff and the breakfast. It was a convenient 15 minute walk from the bus station & about 10 minutes from Aiguille du Midi. Lots of bars, restaurants & shops within a few yards of the hotel. Perfect.

We didn't like our original room (which the lovely manageress changed for us the next day) and we would have liked a kettle in the room.

Like the place, room is clean, staff are super helpful. I just finished my Tour du Mount Blanc and booked this place last minute. I was just planning to stay for one night and switch to another hotel close to the chamonix sud for a early morning bus. But I really enjoyed the place and ended up to stay my last two night of chamonix here.
