Sunset Resorts Canmore and Spa

Charlie at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room and amenities were very good. We enjoyed having a "real" kitchen during our stay, and the jet tub was very relaxing. The bed was comfortable, and we were happy we paid an up-fee for preferred "mountain views." We were an easy walk from the town centre, shopping, dining, and sights. All in all, we HIGHLY recommend this as a vacation spot if you enjoy privacy and excellent "home away from home" rooms.

This seems more like a condo or time-share building than an actual resort or hotel, which was just fine for our expectations. Just be aware you don't receive daily room cleaning, etc. (again, this was okay with us), as it works a bit more like an Air B&B. Two small annoyances: 1) There were three different codes to remember to get in and out of main doors, parkade, and rooms. We had a bit of trouble with keypads in the parkade; and 2) While they provided small, not really adequate pool towels (although we did not go to the pool during our stay), we would have appreciated a second set of full-size bath towels for use in the jet tub area, as it is in a completely different part of the suite from the main shower. Otherwise, all was great!

Great spacious apartment, well equipped and clean. We had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms - and an OK sofa bed for an adult. Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, there was a washing machine, parking in basement (fine for big family car). Very friendly staff - for this area good value for money.

Due to staff shortage you could only check in at 17:00 which was fine for us as we had a very long drive from the USA, but you have to check out at 10:00 and then is becomes quite expensive for not even 1 full day (we stayed 2 nights so less of a problem). There were loads of restrictions on what you could (not) do - including recycling but then the bins were tiny - for nor Canadians (we are from Europe!) some extra instructions would be great.

There was plenty of space in this apartment-like accommodation. It was great having a full kitchen with most of the things you need to cook. The bed was comfortable and the in-room jacuzzi was nice. I also felt secure and with underground parking I didn't worry about our car.

The air conditioning was difficult to control. It snowed and was cool (in June) and there were no instructions on how to turn on the gas fireplace. The television stations didn't include many choices and no ESPN or premium channels. The office was very difficult to find when checking in and it seemed like the staff had a little fun at our expense when we arrived after we had called asking for help. No biggie, but not very professional.

We stay in Canmore every year for the last 5 years for a family vacation. I booked different hotels each time, and I didnt regret booking in this resort. So far, this is the best. Worth what you paid for. The place itself is perfect for a group/family. We really felt like we are home. Considering allergies?Scent free is a plus!👌 Staff are very accomodating. We enjoyed the pool after a long trip daily.Easy check in and check out, no fuzz. Damage deposit? Not worried about it.Take care of the place and they'll take good care of you! Will definitely stay here again.Thanks guys!

Everything is excellent! 10/10.

The staff were amazingly friendly and seemed interested in conversing with us. The room I booked had all the necessities in terms of if I needed to cook something, a fireplace to warm up, multiple gathering spots to socialize with friends, etc. There would be wild animals that come throughout the day at the front of the hotel which was new, cute and interesting to see. The messaging speed was immaculate. Whenever I wrote a question, the staff got back extremely quickly and answered my questions very well and politely.

The bedding, pillows, robes, towels and toiletries were just like any other hotel. A bit uncomfy but can manage. Some of the kitchen wear stuff seemed worn out like the baking sheets, cutting boards, tupperware lids, etc. There were also the knifes which were all serrated options rather than usual chefs, knife, pairing knife, etc. One of the room had no windows. This meant that by night time, it would be pitch black. The lamps that could be used were too bright to softly light up the room at night.

Swimming pool was awesome, slide was great, double jacuzzi was cool and wading pool was perfect for the little one. Games room with pool, foosball and air hockey was also a great touch, kid loved it. Very comfortable, spacious rooms, kitchen had everything, value was spot on and location was perfect.

Staff were friendly and attentive, just a little hassle to ask for somethings but they still accommodated all requests. Cleanliness was 9/10, few details here and there with some dust build up especially on fans provided. Last little thing was they did a dust clean up of parking lot, got our second vehicle outside covered in dust, maybe just a warning so we could have parked somewhere else while they completed routine maintenance:)

Nice apartment for a big family. 2 separate bedrooms (a small one without a window). 2 bath + tube (we don't use it). Full kitchen and laundry. I liked that the dishwasher and laundry had starters for cleaning and washing. Price Owerall is high, but it's for all Banff/Canmore. 400 CAD - it was the cheapest that I could find for my family with 2 bedrooms

For price 400 CAD staff could provide better service. Check-in too late (5pm) and check-out too early (10-00 am). They told that it's because of COVID. But I believe for summer 2023 they should prepared better

Great location overlooking the Rocky Mountains. The rooms felt like home with a balcony and a cozy living area with all amenities in the kitchen.

We did not realize the bathrooms were not ensuite. It was not clear from the photos. If you're traveling with different families you might need to consider this. We also didn't quite feel welcome at the reception. As international travelers first time in Canada, we flew into Calgary and drove here but we felt like they expected us to know about their ways immediately.

Front Desk staff was so nice and helpful. They had all the information needed, and gave us a map with some restaurant discounts. The apartment was very spacious (honestly way bigger than we needed!). We enjoyed the mountain view from the balcony.

Sometimes the wifi was slow or inconsistent, but I think it would've been good enough even to work remotely. From the balcony you could hear the cars from the highway, but it wasn't overly loud. Everything was great, and while expensive, it definitely met all of our needs.

The unit we stayed in was very nice and well-maintained. Spacious. Comfortable bed! The Blake next door was a fabulous pub with flights of their distilled spirits and beers. Great location for those doing day trips to Banff and Lake Louise!!

The resort itself is a bit dated in the common areas. The pool and hot tub area is very packed. Good for families but definitely not a couple! Linens were a little well-worn, especially the pool towels. Soaps and such were very low grade, bring your own shampoo and conditioner.
