Grande Rockies Resort-Bellstar Hotels & Resorts

We received a complimentary upgrade so our room was very spacious with a fireplace and a balcony. The view of the mountains gorgeous. The room was clean and had everything one would need in terms of fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.

Unfortunately our friends that we travelled with did not have the same pleasant experience - they were locked out of the room they were originally booked in which was nearby and were placed in a sub-standard room to that which they booked. The hotel did not respond when they were contacted with feedback. Our room could have used a coffee table and the one side of the bed did not have a night table which was odd. There was garbage still on the deck.

We were moved before checkin to the Solara due to an issue with our original room. They took care of it before we got there so that we could just check in at Solara instead. Very well organized. Everything was excellent, room, location, cleanliness, comfort, staff was amazing, especially the ladies at the Font desk.

There was a car in the parkade that had its lights on all night and idling with no one in it for several hours. I told the man at the FD about it around 1am (after the 4th time I was in the parkade that evening) and he didn’t really care. Said they don’t keep track of license plates and guests so not much he could do. Seemed odd as we were told to register our license plate at check in.

Loved the pool and hot tub area. The half indoor and half outdoor hot tub was neat. Rooms were spacious and we had a dog friendly room so brought our pyp. Only two change areas at pool area though so that was a pain. Also could use somewhere to put your stuff after like a shelf. Restaurant in hotel very nice and staff very friendly. Outside, there was alot of ice built up by doors and very slippery. Fell two times actually. Someone should monitor that or I can see someone getting really hurt. Rooms were awesome, clean and rainfall shower was great. Great location, close to lots of food places and stores.

Ice built up on sidrwalks, very dangerous. Pool area needs shelves for storing your stuff. On bill, lots of hidden taxes and fees ,($40 per night) not told about all that when checked in.

the location is great and the staff were nice and helpful and helped us get a cab to a wedding location.

it was a bit pricey for the Annex but I have stayed there before and I could tell it had been renovated nicely so that was good to see. I think the price is still to much for having no turndown service for multi day stays.

We were 3 of us and we received a suite with a sofa cum bed which was fairly comfortable. Overall facilities provided were good and there was underground parking for the car. There are amenities all around the hotel with supermarkets restaurants and shops. With just 20 mins from Banff Canmore provides many trails and lakes to look around. Also the Hotel was right in the centre nestled by mountains and the staff was friendly and helpful. We used their complimentary bicycles to ride around a lake which was a nice experience.

Everything was amazing , it was a great stay !

Only 1 thing to take the customer service up a notch is to encourage the front desk staff to do some research about trails and fun things to do around the town ! Anywhere I’ve ever went I’ve always had recommendations or directions given to me however it wasn’t the case this time. It’s not a huge deal as google can help however it will make the experience more enjoyable for future guests!

Location was great to get to Banff. Staff were kind and were prompt with any requests. we got an upgrade to a 2BR suite and it was spacious. Laundry ensuite and full kitchen were great for us, traveling with a baby. Views were gorgeous.

jacuzzi in second bathroom didn’t work. there were some beer cans on our patio when we checked in. parking was great to have but challenging to find the spots that were designated for the hotel. Expensive for what you get, but still a good value in the context of Canmore.

Large room, comfortable bed, fireplace, and two comfortable chairs. The kitchenette (fridge and microwave were useful. The view out the window was nice.

The carpet in the room moved a bit underfoot, there was a crack in the sink basin in room 281, I noticed garbage on the stairwell, between the main floor and basement of the Annex, as well as the parking lot.

I liked everything but if I had to mention something I would say that it would have been great if the outdoor part of the hot tub had views to the mountains. The elevator didn't work while we were checking out but they sent someone to help us with our luggage.

Every part of the hotel looked amazing, even the annex. Really modern rooms (particularly the bathroom) the balcony has great views to the mountains. It wasn't big deal to be separated from the main building. What I liked the most was the swimming pool area.

Great location

I originally booked with Booking.com for one night (Saturday), and wanted to add a second night (Friday). Couldnt add it on Booking.com, so called the hotel and made the extra night booking with them. However, when I went to check in, the hotel would only allow me to check in their booking. We were told we would have to vacate the room at 10am on Saturday and then re-check in at 5pm that evening, probably into a different room. I offered to pay for both Fri and Sat on arrival on Saturday, but that was "not allowed". This needs a change of policy at the hotel...no-one wants to have to repack, then unpack again... In addition, it was a shame that I could not book the second night on Booking.com, as the booking.com rate was $98, whereas the "best hotel rate" when I called in was $152....
