Woodcocks, Lincoln by Marston's Inns

we liked being out of town where it was quieter well apart from the nearby train line . The rooms were clean and tidy and the bed was very comfy . Great for families as the play area in the beer garden would keep the kids amused while you rested with a drink . Lovely walk along the canal to get into town takes about 1hr to do .

The thing we didnt like was the tv in the rooom as the signal to the tv made alot of the channels unwatchable so ended up on our phones watching what we wanted so nice that the wifi was there and free . Also the prices of a splash of coke in your vodka was £1.90 so made that drink quite expensive but the pints were average for the prices they charged .

We've stayed here before and will continue to stay here each time we make a trip to Lincoln now. Having stayed in many hotels around Lincoln nothing has lived up to our stay here at the Woodcocks. It's perfect in every sense. The hotel is lovely and clean, beds are so comfortable, the staff are lovely and attentive then you step outside and wow, just wow.. it's absolutely gorgeous. You need to see it yourself to appreciate just how beautiful it is. No matter what direction you go in when stepping foot out of the Hotel you'll not be disappointed, from the Pub adjacent to the Hotel to the Canal, walking trails, the Marina, the People and especially everyone at the Woodcocks.. they make your stay exceptional.

There is nothing to not like!!

From the minute we got there to the minute we left it was exceptional 😁 .. we booked it last minute as our regular hadn't got room availability not knowing what we'd turn up to. However, when we pulled up we instantly fell in love. We were greeted in the Pub adjacent to the Hotel itself where whom I believe was the Manager came and had a chat with us.. he told us where to go walking, pointed out little shops/dining places and was so very informative. From there we checked in to the Hotel which inside the room was absolutely spotless and although we brought our 2 young Children with us (4 in the room, 3 beds) the room still felt cosy, not cramped at all. We did have a little mishap with our room key cards which we laughed about afterwards but still, from the minute the owners found out about this issue they again couldn't do enough for us and put things right instantly. We came over finalizing our Wedding arrangements and are now actually booking up again for the day and following day of our Wedding as absolutely everything about it.. hotel, pub, scenery, information, staff we just can't think of a better place to spend our Wedding Day/Night plus future stays when visiting Family. These people are truly amazing and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone.. can't wait to be back in September. Thank you to all at the Woodcocks!! 💖

There wasn't a thing not to like!!

Nice pub with a good atmosphere with live music playing in the garden. The rooms are in a separate building opposite the pub. The bed was comfortable. There is plenty of car parking spaces however a lot of these can get taken up particularly at weekends. I stayed on a Sunday and it was a sunny day, so was busy, I arrived early afternoon, but I did manage to find a parking space. I thought the price of the room was good value staying sunday. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Nice location Burton waters & next to canal. I booked the room because I was attending a show at Lincoln theatre. I enjoyed a walk along the canal into Lincoln (45mins - 1 hour) a member of staff was helpful with regards directions and issued me with a map. It is a short drive into lincoln. Enjoyed stay and would stay again.

I found everything ok for what I required during my one night stay. I was satisfied with everything.

Lovely location, the reception is in the pub next door Staff very friendly and helpful working hard to give great service. We had dinner on our first evening it was very tasty the breakfast was very good too, buffet style continental breakfast, then a server takes your order for cooked breakfast. Everywhere was clean, tea coffee and biscuits in the room the bed was comfy and a nice hot shower. There's a canal at the back of the hotel with a path to walk along. It takes you all the way to Lincoln we didn't go that far half way was enough walking We visited Belton House it's a 40 minute drive from hotel.

The rooms are clean but basic. But it is very reasonably priced. The bed was a tad hard for me but suited my husband. The laundry was spotless, towels were fluffy and pure white, The pillows were very comfortable. The restaurant is really good and the food was great. We ate in the evening and the following morning at breakfast. I cannot fault the food. All staff are lovely, helpful, and friendly. Would I stay here again-most definitely.

Although the room was clean. Some attention to minor details would have made it better. The carpets in the corners had bits and the bedside table ledge was not as clean as I would have liked but overall was good.

Great place to stay, clean and modern rooms with friendly staff. The pub/restaurant is next door. They serve good food and drinks at a reasonable price. The grounds are spacious and perfect when the weather is good. Woodcocks is next to the Fossdyke Canal which is a pleasant walk into Lincoln of about three miles. It’s also next to Burton Waters, which is also a pleasant walk and has a couple of restaurants and a coffee shop. Woodcocks is where we stay when we visit Lincoln, which is often.

Nothing

The hotel was very clean and everything was new. The Housekeeping staff were very friendly and when we got to our room I realised I had forgotten to carry a travel iron. The lovely Housekeeping staff Allie gave us an iron and ironing board to use for our stay. The bed was nice and comfortable and I usually struggle to sleep in a strange bed but had two nights of good sleep. Would definitely stay there again if we go again to Lincoln.

The only thing I would say is that the bedside table is not very close to the bed. You have to reach a bit if you are enjoying a cup of tea to get it. Nothing major if you have long arms then you will be ok. Maybe also be good to have a heater in the bathroom as it was a bit cold.

A convenient location situated just outside Lincoln. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, all the facilities you could need for a comfortable stay. Situated next to an excellent restaurant, very busy on the day we visited, but the meal was well worth the wait, one of the best steaks I have had, certainly from a chain or restaurant for a long time. The breakfast the next morning certainly kept up the standards from the night before. I thoroughly recommend the Woodcocks, I would certainly stay here again if I was in the area. Brilliant!!!

Cleanish room Decaf coffee with real milk which was.nice.not UHT.

The bathroom extractor was clearly clogged up badly with dust which you could see, I have a lung condition so not good for me. There were lots of bugs (including mosquitos) on the window ledge, I had to kill them before they bit my wife, no windows were open. I chased some of them round the room! The TV was installed incorrectly and was at an angle where it was off putting to watch, also there was no subtitle option on the remote that worked, I feel it could have been a problem for the deaf.
