Monjas del Carmen Hotel

Location of the hotel was excellent. Near to bus and tourist train stop. Near to most of the attractions. You could also walk to the Alhambra Palace. Quite a steep walk, wouldn't want to do it in hot weather. Lots of bars and restaurants close by to. We used the hotels underground parking.

A little noisy where our room was, located over the entrance. Would request a quiet room next time.

Perfectly situated hotel. Cannot be more central than that. 5 minutes on foot from the entrance to Alhambra and 3 minutes away from Via Colon on the other side. Very clean and excellent service. Also a very nice uncrowded breakfast buffet.

Underground parking was a bit narrow and the slope to level -2 was tight. Good thing we didn't upgrade the car rental for a bigger one. The twin room was small. But perhaps, we may have misunderstood the description.

Everything was perfect. The staff was extremly helpful and kind, upon check in and check out. They helped us immensly with local tips where to eat, where to get the best night view of Alhambra, how to get to Alhambra in the morning to avoid traffic. The room was clean and big, the bathroom had everything including a hair dryer. You cant go wrong with this hotel if you want to be in the city center and near Alhambra. Really hope I can visit Granada again and stay here soon.

Hotel is perfectly located between the centre of the city and the old Moorish city. Location could not have been better. We could walk everywhere within a few minutes except the railway station but a taxi was less then 5 euros. Room was clean and comfortable with very efficient air conditioning and a great shower. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful. The breakfast was very good - plentiful with lots of choice.

A nice hotel situated close to the old area of the city, with plenty of places to visit. Alhambra Gardens are also close but you'll better get a bus. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have an underground parking but it's very cramped, so if you have a bigger car it might be an adventure to get in and out without scratching it.

The buffet breakfast was OK, but not very varied. Still, the issue was that the breakfast area was extremely crowded and noisy.

Excellent location - right in the heart of Granada 2 minutes to Plaza Nueva and only a 20 minute walk from the Alhambra. The hotel was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Amazing shower. The staff was friendly and allowed us to check in early. On check-out day, we left in early (6am) in the morning and were able to walk down to Plaza Nueva and grab a taxi to the bus station.

The breakfast (optional) was very expensive. We opted to not get it - it is cheaper to stop at a bakery.

First the staff is super friendly, kind and helpful. The location is perfect. We took a taxi from Alsa bus station, 8 euro. We walk to Alhambra, 15min. We took a taxi to Mirador de San Nicolas, 6 euro and than walk back, 20 min. Spotless clean room and bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Fridge, air con, small balcony. Ask for a higher floor room (third floor) as many restaurants around and it can be a little noisy in the evening. We slept very well. Good breakfast (ham, cheese, boiled eggs, juice, cookies, yogurt, coffee) in a nearby resto with access from inside. We strongly recommend Monjas del Carmen Hotel!

Everything was perfect!

We really enjoyed the location and how it was not on a main (noisy) street. Our room was spacious. We enjoyed the balcony and restaurant downstairs. They provided a tea kettle and mini bar fridge that were very useful. We liked having the safe to lock away our passports. The friendly front desk staff were always helpful with directions, maps, and answering general questions. The bed was a little firm but still comfortable. The entire hotel was clean and the cost was very reasonable.

Access to central Granada is perfect, there is a wide range of atmospheric tapas bars al.ost on the doorstep.

Vehicle access to the hotel means followi g very detailed 3 page instructions received from the hotel. We accidentally only downloaded one of the 3 pages, leaving us stranded in the middle of the city until we realised we were missing a couple of pages. We read other reviews about tight spiral access to the garage and thought with motorbikes we would be fine. The access is very steep and rather than a constant spiral, it has almost a triangular shape, making the tightest corners very difficult to negotiate with a fully laden adventure bike. Fine for smaller bikes.

Staff was very friendly. Shared spaces like lobby were very pretty. Rooms are standard and the balconies are a great plus. We had no issues with the wifi - which has NOT been in our experience in other areas of Andalucia - which was a relief during our video calls. I was also able to use the Salon as a "business center", which allowed my husband to work from the room and me from there. There was a monitor in the Salon that you could use but I didn't use it. Overall it was easy to work from here but kind of bare bones. The restaurant was fantastic! I went down and had a beer and some free tapas, which were delicious. It gets packed and the waiters a bit overwhelmed but everyone was really pleasant and accommodating. The location CANNOT be beat. Super close to Alhambra, the Albaicin and not far from Sacremonte. Many bars, restaurants and coffeeshops nearby. The hotel helped us get tickets to a flamenco show which we enjoyed as well!

Not much - to be picky: No ice machine & phone in the room didn't work.
