Vincci Consulado de Bilbao

This was a great find. The hotel is a short two minute walk from the Guggenheim Museum. This was the first time ever that I had ridden in a car elevator so that was an adventure. I'm glad we were driving a small car. It was also the first time I ever used my cell phone as the room key. The dining room looked wonderful but we were exhausted from our three hour visit to the museum so, we had very good bar snacks and a drink in the lounge for dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful. Big breakfast buffet. We really enjoyed our time at this hotel. Two photos below: The Guggenheim from the hotel and the hotel from the Guggenheim

Fantastic location. Ignore the poor website photos. In a nice part of town with loads of restaurants, cafes, shops and supermarkets. Central to everything incl. airport bus about 5-6 mins walk. Staff are lovely and professional, I only met the afternoon shift team, who are very welcoming. Hotel is modern, in a safe area and has great views. The rooms are a decent size with all the usual amenities and has the quietest aircon I have ever experienced in a hotel. A real find as I walked past other hotels and none can match this one for it’s good points.

The slamming hotel room doors which shake the whole room, you think this is nit picky, but trust me, this is a real issue this hotel needs to address as it is very disruptive at all hours and the hotel’s open plan makes it worse as you hear it from all floors. They sell a nice scented room freshener, they need to use it in their rooms and hallways and clean the carpet as there is an odd odor like cold frying fat? The towels need replacing, the mattress topper is very soft and uncomfortable. These things get annoying when you stay for 3+ nights. This would be a fabulous hotel if these issues were fixed.

The only thing was that I was charged in £ when we checked in so the price was higher than Booking.com price, however the next morning when I spoke to them they refunded it and charged it again in Euros so I got the correct price, with no protest. Just watch out for that if you pay the hotel.

Outstanding location--very close to the Guggenheim, river walk, and dining--with good-sized rooms that were clean and comfortable. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The parking (underneath the hotel) was nice to have as I saw very little open on-street parking or parking garages nearby (though I was glad I was driving a small car).

Excellent hotel in an excellent location, a modern hotel but with a very comfortable ambiance and beautifully furnished. The service from staff was excellent everyone so helpful and polite. The views from the bar terrace and dinning room where fabulous, we booked dinner at the hotel which we throughly enjoyed the food was delicious, and the breakfast was probably one of the best we have had and we have stayed at quite a few hotel’s recently, for the choice, quality and presentation of our food I would give 10/10 and the service from the staff could not have better. Our room although was not very large, it was clean and well furnished and the bed was so comfortable plus we had amazing views of the river and bridge. Plenty of shops restaurants and bars are within easy walking distance and also great transport links if you wish to go further into the city or the old town. We had not booked the hotel parking which unfortunately was full, however, easily found lots of parking areas and car parks nearby. I would definitely rebook this hotel when we return to Bilbao as it is also ideally located for catching the ferry to UK, just 23 minutes drive, however, next time I would ensure I booked a longer stay.

Absolutely nothing everything was great just wished we had stay more than one night

The moment we walked in we felt like home, because everybody treated us well and did their best to make our stay pleasant. The rooms are nice and with cosy design and functionallity. The restaurant was runned so well by staff. Customer service in top. Always prepared to help you. Breakfast was super. The hotel is very central to the airport stop, the Guggenheim, the free Bilbao arts museum (recommended), tram stops, eating and shopping etc. We stayed for three days, and spent half a day to go see the historic Unesco site Biskaya Bridge-ferry from 1893; only Basque Unesco monument and a symbol of the industrial revolution. A great occasion to visit the beach and outer port area. We were recommended by hotel to buy the Barik Card, which makes public transportation even cheaper - a real bargain. The urban renewal of Bilbao is quite remarkable.

Amazing hotel in the heart of Bilbao with high standards and service.We were welcomed by a touching surprise in our room from the hotel's manager due to our wedding anniversary. Amazing 5 star breakfast with an amazing view. The hotel crew was also super welcoming and have a great eye to detail.Private parking in the garage (paid). It was a car elevator, which is a blessing to have, in a city like BilbaoThe location was superb, right next to the Guggenheim and the river promenade, not so far away from the old town (20 min walking distance or tramway if you prefer, next to the hotel too)

The need to use an app in order to open the door. Unnecessary hustle. The fact that I have to write my passport number in order to log in to the internet. Again, unnecessary hustle.

A really lovely hotel in a wonderful location. Staff were very lovely and top class. Extremely accommodating - we had to book an extra night at the last minute and we were given a great rate and an instant booking. We were also given a complimentary upgrade upon check-in. Lovely breakfast each morning and the Hotel has what must be the most impressive location in Bilbao with a beautiful terrace overlooking the river and with a view to the Guggenheim (which is only a five minute walk). Parking was fantastic - accessed by a lift. The Receptionists were really wonderful and made a fantastic first impression which lasted throughout the stay. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Stunning location! The Guggenheim museum is just opposite, a beautiful park is 5 minutes away, plenty of cafes and restaurants in the vicinity and the old town is within walking distance. Breakfast was 5 stars! Option to sit outside on the terrace was always available. The quality and variety of the food served, and nothing was too much when it came to extra requirements-I asked for hot Oat milk every morning and they always brought it to the table for me. The service everywhere in the hotel was wonderful and we were made to feel very welcome. The terrace , with its incredible views, came alive in the evening. The food served from the bar was delicious. We often chose to come back to the hotel to have a bite in the evening rather than go elsewhere. The rooms are also nice and very clean with a river view, and the beds were very comfortable. We have already decided that this is the hotel we will be staying in next time we are in Bilbao. No regrets.

If only there was a gym/pool or spa, it would have made our stay even better! :) Otherwise, no negatives.
