Hotel Conde Duque Bilbao

The staff were very friendly and helpful from the Reception to Housekeeping. The room was very spacious and clean with plenty of wardrobe space and hangers. It was lovely having a balcony. Vending machines were provided on several floors which came in handy. WiFi was excellent. The location was really central and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars, the Guggenheim and transport links.

There were no coffee/tea facilities in the room though I did read that you could ask at Reception for tea facilities; I would have preferred this in the room already as it's usually standard. There was no room service menu although there was room service available. It would have been helpful had the options been outlined in the room.

The hotel has an excellent selection of breakfast foods as well as a bar with pintxos for in-between mealtimes. We had breakfast daily and ate dinner there several times. Food was always good. The staff was unfailingly kind, helpful, and friendly. It is a great location. We walked everywhere and being next to the Zubizuri Bridge meant we were centrally located. Easy walking to the Guggenheim or the Old City

The room was tight by American standards, but reasonable for Europe. I would have liked to have in-room coffee. However, we borrowed a "tea set" from the main desk and, because we had brought our own coffee, we could manage.

Very easy to reach off the motorway and the parking lot was easily located with good help from the desk. Location was great in the middle of the Guggenheim. and the old town and directly across from the footbridge to cross the river. We chose a superior double and were pleased we did for the fresh air, light and french balcony The air conditioning was a bit disappointing with the overnight temperature 28. Quite uncomfortable for sleeping. On the last night was a cool change and the room cooled down considerably with the balcony door open. Another reason not to choose an interior room. Great coffee and croissant in the restaurant and there were many restaurants in the area.

This is about the 50th time that I have stayed in this hotel over the years, both whilst working and at leisure. I love it because the location is perfect for visiting the Guggenheim, Cafe Iruna and it's wonderful tapas, and of course the Old Town. The staff are always friendly helpful and efficient. (Thanks especially to the manager Alvaro, and to Oksana and Jorge on reception - the staff here always go the extra mile). Breakfast is always excellent with everything you could wish to have. Nothing - everything was great

We liked the hotel very much. And we loved Bilbao. Whenever we are in Bilbao, there is no question, we WILL stay at Dunque. The atmosphere in the hotel is very pleasant, because all the people who work there do their job just right. We are very grateful to the gentlemen at the reception desk, they helped us with every question and request. Breakfast every day was delicious and plentiful. Our room was so nice on the 8th floor with a magnificent view of the city. We appreciate the attention we received from the staff of the hotel. Thank you guys a lot!

The greeting at reception was really friendly and the staff were really informative. Our room was a great size, with our two boys being in their own room. We all enjoyed a lovely breakfast on two of our days at the hotel, plenty of variety on offer and this really set us up for the day. My family also really enjoyed spending time in the gym. The location of the hotel is excellent, being halfway between the Guggenheim museum and the city centre.

Great room, friendly and helpful staff who were keen to make our 3 night stay a good one. Very good breakfasts and also evening meals (on the first two of the three nights).

That the evening meal on our 3rd night was cancelled without prior notice. While in general the staff were incredibly helpful, one elderly barman appeared to be swimming against the tide by being deliberately unhelpful on our 3rd night which was unfortunate.

Located on the Paseo Campo Volantin, the hotel is an easy walk to the Funicular de Artxanda, and to the Zubizuri pedestrian bridge over the Nervion, thus very convenient to the great views and great places in the old and new Bilbao. The Hotel staff were most helpful and courteous. Our room was clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet in the cafe/restaurant was an excellent way to start the day.

Breakfast better than in many other 3* hotels. Room big enough, clean and modern design. Balcony with side view to river and Calatrava-bridge. Personnel exceptionally polite. Check-out time 12,00 i.e. later than usual. Luggage-room after check-out until departure available free of charge. Excellent location, Guggenheim 200 meters thru Calatrava-bridge. Airport bus in walking distance.

Besides the room and the view to the river with the balcony that we just loved, we were happily surprised by how nice and caring the staff was - and I wanted to do this review to thank them and compliment their care and kindness. I left a note on my booking reservation saying I am intolerant to wheat (equivalent to gluten free), and when we arrived at the breakfast lounge the next morning for the breakfast (that is awesome by the way), they knew who I was, called me by my name and had prepared for me an equivalent breakfast gluten free. I was really touched. Also the location is amazing and really beautiful. We left on foot to visit the Guggenheim and the city center, it's really close by (10min walk by the river). Wonderful. Really nice stay.

Unfortunately by the time we were there they had no reserved parking for the car, and that area is almost impossible to park the car on the street, particularly if you arrive late in the evening. Solution is, drop the bags in the hotel (they'll save them for you) and go park the car in an underground park nearby, where you can leave the car with no worries. But be ready to pay around 25€/24hours.
