Our room was lovely - spacious and very comfortable. Concierge on our arrival was great. Excellent parking facilities and service.

Pool area disappointing - it didn't feel 'looked after' and nowhere in the (admittedly small) changing room to leave stuff. Staff in restaurant a bit hit and miss - we booked dinner on our first night and were told it was unnecessary to book, so on a Sunday night (which we thought would be quiet), we didn't book - and were told we should have, the restaurant was full and to go to the Sofitel Hotel opposite for dinner. Which we did - had a great meal and excellent service and we'd recommend it highly to others staying at the Bolton Hotel!

Just about the best place in Wellington to stay. Location, quality of rooms and facilities.

I had my old dog with me. She had stayed with my son all weekend but after we dropped him at the airport on Sunday we needed to keep her with us. It was not possible to take her to our room which is understandable. But maybe there is an option you could consider in the future. Offer a dog minding service. Lots of hotels in Europe allow dogs. I am not sure that is the solution for NZ but being able to bring my dog and take her for walks would appeal if an external party looked after her when I need to be in the hotel

Perfect location and great view from our room. Room service and house keeping are excellent, thank you for cleaning and making our bed perfectly daily during our stays. Fine dining food quality of room service, plus very efficient. Only two things can be improved : Main's portion is same as kids menu portion, but price is very different $$. Indoor swimming pool is not heating pool, it was very cold with cold air conditioning temperature on. SPA pool is out of service which is very disappointing. Otherwise is awesome experience & very enjoy our stays.

Front office manager, Nona, if I have her correct. She was extremely accommodating in arranging a room move for us. Reception staff extremely friendly. The Gentleman who checked us in also assisted us with out departure. Room service was super convenient and easy to order on the iPad in the room. Meals were super well presented and tasty.

The cracks and creaking sounds throughout the night. Due to the design and the safety factor of the building. The bed in our first room before us moving rooms, was super comfortable and like you were sleeping on a cloud. The bed in second room was hard and not too pleasant

Very spacious suite which was well appointed and had fantastic views. The hotel is also very quiet, despite many guests. The reception staff were helpful and efficient, despite being busy and the car valet service was excellent. The atmosphere in reception was welcoming and relaxing

We ordered an a la carte breakfast which didn't arrive. The waitress apologised and said there was a mix up in the kitchen but it was obvious that we were sitting there for some time without our meal. It was my sister's 70th birthday and we had looked forward to the hotel dining option so we were disappointed and went without breakfast. We were offered a free meal but we had to leave

I up graded to a studio with a view and it was very peaceful overlooking the cemetery. The suite was spacious and well equipped for a long stay. Although I didn't use the pool or the sauna and spa I would if I was staying long term. I had organised a reunion and we were a small group so the boutique nature of the hotel was perfect. The meetings staff were excellent. The food is wonderful and all the staff are capable and professional.

Some of the floor coverings and the blinds are starting to get a bit worn but perhaps they're due for replacement.

Probably one of the most enjoyable rooms we've stayed in for ages. Location is central and amazing (200m from the Beehive) and the room facilities were everything you want and need and done really well. It doesn't set out to be uber stylish but instead anticipates everything a traveller needs and does it brilliantly. Loads of space for cases, lovely views over botanic gardens, huge tv with all the channels, self catering kitchenette is excellently equipped if you're sick of eating out, and unlike so many hotels lighting and power points were great all with total privacy. Gym and pool/sauna were a nice treat and staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. Hotels like this are why Airbnb often seem such poor value nowadays.

We could only stay 2 days!

Amazing staff, so friendly and helpful. Great location, nice easy walk into Lambton Quay and Wellingtons CBD, while also being super quiet with a beautiful outlook. The kitchenette was great, well equipped, and much bigger than expected.

The room was very tatty and not quite what we expected for the price and the hotels 5 star, boutique status. It could really do with a refresh and a lick of paint. The bathroom was also extremely tired with stained tiles and showers, which made it look very dirty.

This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in for sure ! A full apartment space with separate bedroom had all the amenities in a super comfortable setting. The food and coffee from the restaurant was perfect and always arrived promptly. The location was also an added bonus; just walk out and go behind the hotel to the historic cemetery that then leads to the botanical gardens and up the hill to the cable car. The best solo Christmas stay for 4 nights! I highly recommend the Bolton hotel.

This hotel is fabulous. A true boutique hotel with style class great service& food, friendly reception, and a beautiful clean, nicely appointment room. A huge shower with more towels than needed - such a bonus. And a fabulous location. Close to everything I wanted to do for a day in the city. Plenty of walks, meanderings and shopping. Loved it.

The only thing that "spoilt" it for me and stopped me from thinking it was 100% or 10/10 - was the surcharge. I felt it was a mean-spirited policy to have to pay quite a lot extra on top of what was already a pretty grunty bill.
