Staff went out of the way to send up towels and park the car - staff 9/10

Air condition did not work - broken When called the hotel after viewing booking .com the hotel revelations stated they were not allowed to match and they quoted 50.00 more - told to book via booking .com even though I still got it at the price and you paid commission - not smart - Also not informed if booking for 2 nights that room not serviced - if informed would not have stayed - deliberate hiding

This is a gorgeous hotel right across from the Te Papa Museum in downtown Wellington! The artwork in the lobby and public areas was spectacular and really fun to explore. Our room was beautiful with an exceptional bathroom and amazing shower! We enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub and found them quite relaxing on a rainy day in Wellington.

Although our room was beautiful it was a bit on the small side. This is a fairly expensive hotel but the parking is still an added $40 per day and you have to wait a bit for a valet to retrieve the car.

Fantastic location, beautiful decor, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Had a lovely patio deck with furniture that was a bonus we didn’t expect. The artwork in the lobby and throughout the hotel was amazing. Very short stroll to huge selection of restaurants and the central city. Hotel is directly across the road from Te Papa Museum and the waterfront. Only reasons I didn’t rate a 10 was because of the parking cost and the overpriced breakfast at their in-house restaurant.

Not great for parking. No option but to pay the $40 a day valet parking because free parking would have been a great distance away and only available at certain times of the day. You need to give 15-20 mins notice for the valet to bring your vehicle around. Breakfast was overpriced and not a great variety at the in-house restaurant.

very quirky , not sure about the mirrors everywhere. It is quite dark inside, beds were extremely soft and comfy. I do have some mobility issues but due to the shower in the bath and awkward tiling on bath i was unable to use. Valet parking was good tho $40 a night to park. Convenient location directly opposite the museum and not too far to walk to town and ‘the library’ for fab cocktails. I would definitely recommend

shower in bath, very dark everywhere and too many mirrors all over the hotel and rooms.

Valet is off site, but by providing morning departure times, the team always had the car ready. The common areas are nice and the art in the ground floor is amazing.(worth walking through even if you are not staying!)

The front desk staff were aloof. Both the concierges were great - however the desk is not always fully manned and you need to go to the front desk to get someone to drop car keys. The beds could do with replacement - we found them to be like two canoes.

Beds were amazingly comfortable as well as pillows ! Dyson hair dryer amazing - great advertising ! Lovely little gestures such as bathroom goodies - vanity packs / shower gels and soaps etc Room service was quick and the reception was extremely helpful - plus the hippopotamus restaurant at night was excellent service ! And the cocktails at the hot sauce were just wow!

More options in the self service breakfast - normal Breakfast dining was lovely. Room was large and very comfortable- a little tired in some places - bedside lamp didn’t work, broken light in bathroom, no air vent in bathroom when showering, teabags didn’t get refilled everyday we had to keep asking. Plus only two tiny towels - could have done with at least one more

room was really good, happy with size and space facilities were excellent

alot went wrong, first they didnt have our booking, then we had to pay for another room, then they found our booking with our persistence that we had booked a room, we then got charge an extra $60. when we booked breakfast was included, at time of check in it was confirmed that breakfast was included, on check out we had to pay for breakfast, they could not give a breakdown of what we had for breakfast or room service, very poor, lack of staff concern

We were congratulating ourselves on getting on the right road after coming off the ferry, but we then drove straight past the hotel. It's a big grey building - get in the righthand lane and look for the hippo! The entrance for cars isn't hugely obvious. Anyway, once round the block was all it took. We dropped the car at the hotel for the valet parking. Rather than wait for our room to be ready, we went straight over the road to the museum. For us, that made it the perfect location. The room itself was lovely: good value too.

Location, location location! Easy walk to restaurants and theatre (in Welly for a comedy show). Clean and comfortable. Efficient valet parking.

Like so many other places of late, there is a somewhat hidden charge for using VISA. Fortunately, I checked and had the option to pay with EFTPOS. I stay in lots of places for lots of reasons and some are humble and some are “posh” and what narks me is that it is always the expensive places that have the hidden VISA fee. Shame on you!

Room was a good size. Bathroom was a decent size and likes the bath as it was big and deep. The breakfast at the Hippo was amazing. Location wise, close to Cuba Street and the waterfront. The art work in the foyer and hall ways were fantastic.

The finer detail in the room. The shower hose was leaking and needs replacing. The walls have been patched but not painted. The ventilation fans were hanging loose in the bathroom. The bed was way too soft (but that's a personal choice) there were times when the hotel staff were playing on their phones rather than actually helping us and we had to asked them to help us when were right next to them..
