Wonderful rooms. Bed and cleanliness exceptional.

Did not have credit card to hold a bond even though room paid for by credit card. The guy on reception would not accept a cash bond and was extremely uncompromising. Needed to have a friend come over to show physical credit card. Offered 300 cash for bond but told without credit card imprint I could not check in. Left out on street until friend arrived. Most distressing and spoiled an otherwise lovely business stay. Rest of staff lovely but initisl encounter when checking in was highly upsetting

my room was very big and the hotel is in a good / central location. walking distance to most of the main attractions.

the bed was more firm than my liking, there was no hair blow dryer and for the TV it was only streaming services that you had to log into from a QR code which made it complicated.

The location of the hotel was so handy and was in walking distance of many of Wellington's main attractions and city centre. Check in/out was a breeze and the staff were lovely and made this process very easy. The room was clean and tidy and had a fresh feel about it.

Having the ability to know if our room would have had a window in it when making the booking would have been great as this would have been something I would have requested on making the booking had we had known our room didn't have one. We had also asked for fresh towel quiet early in the day but had to ask again after waiting several hours. The beds were also very very firm which some people may like but was not our ideal bed comfyness amd they were also extremely high o their base which was difficult to get into bed

On arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the kind and warm approach of a gentle soul, a gentle man whose name is Hrushabh. We were trying to park up and he kindly met us in the parking area to help get parking sorted. A simple touch, but nonetheless hugely appreciated by us Aucklanders, who are not used to the narrow streets of Wellington. His willingness and warm demeanour makes this establishment a joy to visit. The room was very modern, clean and pleasing to the eye. I would recommend Microtel by Windham, Wellington to anyone and would, when next visiting Wellington, return to stay here.

On retrieving our key and sussing the room out, we realised, unfortunately, that we had chosen, through booking.com, a room without windows. This was very claustrophobic to my dear husband, so we decided to try for an upgrade even though we were on a very strict budget. Hrushabh very willingly helped us out and gave us a Christmas discount on the room. Secondly, we couldn't get the giant TV to work, but this wasn't a biggie to us for a one night stay. I'm sure it would have been an easy fix, if we'd followed it up.

I loved the location. Very central with the ability to walk to many city destinations. Simple entry and exit swab systems which is great to come and go whenever suited.

The power outlets on the desk were too close to the desktop making it impossible to plug in my charger for my Mac laptop. Staff were helpful with an alternative which was to plug it in to the multi box behind the TV. This is simple for a techie person but to many others it may be something they may not want to do. I did find the lighting a little dark having only one overhead light in the main space. I do prefer natural light and also having one small widow to me felt a little claustrophobic.

Nice and tidy Hotel. Good location close to CBD but not too close for noise etc. Room was nicely presented, good use of the space. Big TV with casting software. Bathroom and shower where nice and clean with great shower pressure.

Found the bed very firm, parking price is abit steep per night if you're staying for a week maybe a discount? Not much in the kitchenette area, 2 spoon 2 cup 2 mug that is all. No microwave, tinny kettle, no plates or bowls or knives or forks. No window in my room, just skylight.

The room was very nice, clean, and laid out in a way that made it feel spacious, particularly the bathroom, which had a good sized shower and countertop. Check in was smooth, and it was easy to secure a car park during the check in process. The location is also very good for proximity to the cbd.

The interior of the building feels like a little bit of a maze, although it does loop so it wasn't a big issue. The although the shower was spacious, the shower door opened into the shower & partially blocked it, so we had to squeeze into the corner to be able to close the door. The bed was also on the firmer side than what we prefer, but fairly standard for hotels.

The design of the windows is unique and the city view was amazing. The faucet in the bathroom had a strong flow. The bed was comfortable and its firmness was just what I was used to. The staff are very kind.

I wish there could be a counter for suitcases in the room so I did not have to bend over to unpack the suitcase all the time. In addition, I hope the option of “pay at the property” could include cash payment.

we didn't have breakfast as were running late although it looked great very well presented

no bar or such services in the downstairs space as it was being used for a private function which was awkward to walk into. it would be nice to have a wine or beer prior to going out or just relax upon arrival (if one arrives early as we did)to wait for room to be ready.

Room was lovely - very spacious, nice to have a couple of comfy chairs and great to have air-con. Bathroom was also good - shower had great pressure.

Breakfast was included in our room rate but was terrible. No selection at all so didn't have breakfast at the hotel at all - went around the corner to Cafe Lafaare. Personally, I think you should just ditch the breakfast offering if you are not going to do a good job of it. My friend paid for a coffee and that was also awful. Could do with a little more lighting in the bathroom area - was a little dim when trying to apply makeup.
