Hotel Justus

The hotel has an amazing location, right next to the main square and Riga Cathedral. Almost all major tourist attractions are within 5-15 minutes of walking distance. Our room was spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was renovated and spotless. The breakfast did not have endless options (which is such a waste) but all the available things were tasty and more than enough to feel full and satisfied. The hotel staff is kind, professional and helpful. There was someone working at the reception even 04:00 am in the morning and helped us check out smoothly.

The bedroom was a bit cold but we visited Riga in January and the outside temperature is -5 to -10 degrees therefore it was expected. If you are visiting from a warmer country, bring warm clothes and socks with you!

We have just returned for a 4 day break in Riga and this hotel is a gem. It is almost boutique with comfortable period furniture, exposed brick and plaster walls, subtle décor, wooden staircases , but also modern facilities. It is also so central to everything in the old city, 5 mins at most from the House of the Blackheads, St Peters Church and the Cathedral, in fact part of the hotel was originally part of the Cathedral cloisters. At night time you can hear the chime on the hour from the House of The Blackheads, which was very nice and calming. The street was quiet at night and the hotel is only 5 mins from the airport bus stop (no 22), just over the bridge. Breakfast is extensive with hot, cold, cereal etc, more than enough choice for three days and it is constantly refreshed by the attentive but not imposing staff. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel for a stay and will certainly look to return in the near future. They also provided us with a kettle for that very important English tradition, a cup of tea first thing, brilliant.

Maybe slightly larger room, but then I could have booked that myself so minor.

The breakfast was solid, it could be better, but everyone can find something for themselves. The whole hotel is very pleasant and nice, it is in the city centre and all the sights can be visited on foot. I would really recommend this hotel, especially if you are staying for a day or two to visit the main attractions of the city

Only two minor complaints, although we asked for a quiet room, we got a room facing the street. At the end of the street is a club where loud music is played at weekends until morning. So if you want to sleep quietly with the window open in summer, it will be difficult. But if the window is closed, you hear almost nothing. And it would be good if the beds had another pillow. In a bed with a metal edge and a small pillow, it's quite difficult to read anything.

The hotel was awesome, great ambiance, kept its old world roots but had great modern conveniences. The pictures on their website are accurate. Very nice breakfast super value. The hotel sits in the old town center and easy public transportation. Lots of museums but we didn't get a chance to see them. Public transportation is superb too. 8 Euro for a 3 day pass you can pick them up at almost any of the corner stores. Bus, trolly, tram and train all in one. Just hop on and tap your card on the reader. Way too easy. Just a pretty gem of a city, clean and lots going on.

It was a little warm and the A/C couldn't keep up. But it can also be humid there. We are mostly vegetarian wish there were more options at the restaurants.

The hotel was cozy and clean, personnel was welcoming. As it was in the Old Town, everything we wanted to go to, was easily accessible by foot. That also comes with a price - car parking was approximately 0,5km away and the morning started with loud church bells (8 AM)- but if you are prepared for that, it does not hurt the overall experience. Due to the holiday season the hotel was fully booked. It did not show anywhere else, but it was crowded at breakfast. Some had to wait for a free table for a bit, but the staff managed it well - tables were cleaned quickly, everything was filled in foodcourt all the time. And if you did not want to wait, you had a possibility to eat in lobby area.

Information about the parking and its cost could have been more easily found while making the reservation. Hotel bar was a bit poorly equipped (no ice nor lemon/lime), BUT there were other bars just few meters away.

The location is perfect, just in the centre ( almost) of the Old Riga with good accessibility for main points of interest. The breakfast was very good either , even though not so much diverse ( we stayed three nights and there were the same plates but of good quality). The decor of the hotel is impressive and leaves you with desire to explore it more and more

The door of the toilet was squeaking a bit, also there was a problem with hot water last night , but we were said it was a general maintenance problem in that area. Overall nothing to complain about

The hotel is located in the exact city centre which makes the stay very comfortable. It's close to all main attractions as well as bus stop where the bus from airport stops! Breakfast is very good and offers huge variety - I believe everyone finds something for themselves. When I asked for early breakfast as my flight was early in the morning, I got "to go" box with it - much appreciated. Staff was friendly and room has all I needed (I asked for an electric kettle and got it immediately). T

The only problem was walls... I could hear my neighbours very clearly. But it might be because of the building and its old construction. Apart from that everything was wonderful!

The room was just like the photos. Spacious. Great decor. Big bed and very comfy. Powerful shower. Superb views. Great location. Exceptionally clean. Quiet and safe. A lot to love.

The bed had 2 single duvets which were too small. The heating didn't go as hot as I'd like. No blankets No kettle or facility to make hot drinks. Breakfast was adequate but as a vegetarian I'd have liked more options: just 2 cereals, no fresh bread rolls, many options included meat unnecessarily such as potatoes with bacon pieces and boiled eggs with fish. Drinks from the bar in the evening were expensive. Extremely nice but not luxurious.

Lovely rooms, good facilities, excellent options for breakfast, welcoming staff, it was really great. 8 of us stayed here for a conference which was not in the old town but it was so nice to come back to the old town for the evenings. Also big shout out to the night staff who let us have drinks in the lobby one night when we wanted to talk together rather than hang out in a bar (tho I think we got as tipsy!) I'd highly recommend Hotel Justus as exceptional value for money in a lovely location.

In my room there were only 2 power outlets, one for the mini fridge and one for the lamp. This was room 506 under the roof, so the charmingness of the room made up for the lack of outlets, and also all my colleagues had plenty of outlets

A good location in the old town. Not fully in the old town so not as noisy as some places. For the first time ever, the hotel actually managed to honour the "if you leave towels on the rail, we won't change them" policy - I've seen that sign so often yet they change them anyway.

Reaching the hotel, the outward signs implied a restaurant but that is not the case - just breakfast. The street was a bit noisier than expected but that is probably my fault - Riga old town is not a quiet place and I should have done my research a bit better.
