Monika Centrum Hotels

I visit Riga quite often, but for the first time in the wonderful Riga Art Nouveau district. I liked the location of the hotel, the authentic charm, the single room is comfortable, quiet at night, even though the window opens onto the street, beautiful buildings can be seen through the window, they are everywhere around. The breakfast is especially delicious, a lot of choice, worthy of 5 stars.

There were no bathrobes, slippers in the single room, I stayed one night only and didn't pay much attention to it. You have to ask for bathrobes and slippers if you live in the single room.

The location of the facility is very nice, the rooms are very clean and large enough, the staff are friendly and helpful.

I had a good-sized room. The receptionists were all very helpful. The breakfast was varied. It was nice to have the opportunity to book out the whole sauna area for yourself for an hour a day for free. The location was good, opposite a very nice park and very close to lots of Art Nouveau buildings. I enjoyed walking into town through the park along the canal.

The breakfast could have been fresher and the hot food kept hotter. My room overlooked the main road but I got used to the sound of the traffic, especially as it wasn't very noisy when I stayed there. It wasn't a big deal but next time I'd ask for a room that wasn't on the main road. I'd still stay here though even if such a room wasn't available.

Our room was upgraded from standard to suite and we had a blast! We were on the last floor with a huge corner room and beautiful view of the park and the city. One of the best sleeps I ever got in hotels, very comfortable beds, clean and shiny bathrooms, nice breakfast! We reserved parking some months in advance for 10eur/night. The parking we were offered was more like a warehouse that could fit two cars only but it worked perfectly for us and we were thankful to be able to park for a smaller fee. Location was good also, 15-20 mins walking to Old Town through the park mostly. Overall, we were quite satisfied.

The room was big and comfortable with good Internet. I liked the diverse breakfast too and the location of the hotel.

the staff needs more training. When you arrive at 1 am you expect at least to be asked if all is ok. But I got no greeting, instead I had to wait for the reception to do the invoice which could have waited for the next days … Then the million copies after my ID and card etc. The shower was cold for 30 mins so I showered cold early in the morning… I noticed a lot of other problems with the staff that show their lack of training. it would be nice to take care of your employees

Very convenient location, next to a nice park and 5 mins from old town of Riga. It is also just 100 m away from Art Nouveau street (Alberta iela), which I was not planing to visit, but could not miss as it was next door. Breakfast was great, with nice selection of hot meals and cold dishes. To my surprise hotel had quite decent sauna (in other 4 star hotels I had visited sauna was more of an item in check list instead of a proper amenity), spacious (it can easily accommodate 4 ppl), just bear in mind that you can book it only for 1 hour and 1 room at a time. Staff was friendly and helpful. Finally, if you come with a car and want to take parking of the hotel, bear in mind that the car has to be removed from parking with checkout (at midday).

Good location, 10-15 minute walk into Old Town through a really nice park. Also on the edge of Tthe Arts and Crafts District and close to bars and restaurants. Really helpful staff, limited English, however this added to experience. Food and beverages very nice and well priced. Buffet Breakfast had something for all. It does have a Spa but it is only a sauna and a few weights. We didn't see anyone using the Spa, but why would you want to hide away from the magnificent sights if Riga.

Beautiful, older, hotel on the edge of the Jugendstil area, just a block from the Art Nouveau Museum. Located on Elisabete Iela, so literally a walk down the street to the new town area, and immediately across from the parkland walkways to the Old Town. The room was quiet, spacious and well-appointed, and the staff courteous and helpful. Breakfast included cereal, cooked and cold buffet options. The only issue we had was with the 'continental' pillows, which don't give us a good night's sleep. We'd certainly stay there again.

The hotel is a 10 min walk into the old town at the junction of a road with some stunning buildings along it. The walk to the old town is through a nice park. Quiet at night, lovely big rooms, big bathroom. I am very glad I stayed here as I think the old town would have been very noisy at night and it meant I had the chance to explore a bit more. I felt very safe in the city, not harassed or bothered by anyone at all. Highly recommend Riga for a City break!

The hotel did not have the bar open which is a shame but, on the flip side, you're kind of "forced" to go out and explore the city.
