Hotel Coellner Hof

The hotel location is ideal for connection to city center (main train station) and the Messe both the normal train and the underground train. At first I got one of the few rooms without cooling, but was transferred to a room with airconditioning, which was excellent for the summer heat. The staff were friendly and helpful, also with the car parking, which was a bit odd at first going into an underground parking by elevator.

Everybody has their own preferences for beds and pillows, personally for me the pillows were annoyingly soft and fluffy, The odd thing was that I had to search hard for a power outlet in the room, except for the one used by the room-phone. Maybe this was just my specific room.

Very nice and cozy hotel within walking distance from the centre and the main sites of Cologne. Very good breakfast which is served until 10.30 a.m. In general, a good value for money choice in this beautiful city. Just to mention that in the neighborhood around the hotel there is the egelstein torburg and in the pedestrian roads around there are some really nice cafes and restaurants

- Double beds are really large, which is good, but i found the mattress too soft (if someone has waist problems like me, it is not that good)

The hotel generally satisfied my expectations. It was clean, silent and the location was great. Also I would like to thank the woman in the bar (Katharina?). She was very kind and answered my all questions.

I was in the fifth floor and couldn't connect the WiFi from time to time! I asked the receptionist and she said me that's a technical problem and they would help me only the next day. But, I couldn't connect it again the next day.

Very nice traditional hotel in the heart of Cologne, friendly staff, you can feel that it is family owned. Walking distance to Hauptbahnhof and Hansaring, from Hansaring there is a fast and cheap direct train connection to the airport. It’s near Eigelstein, Weidengasse, Agnesviertel with a lot of good cafés and restaurants.

Wifi was poor, could be because my room was at the end of the aisle. A small fridge would no harm anyone :)

Hotel Coellner Hof is a very comfortable hotel, dedicated staff, comfy bed and excellent breakfast. The location is very good. It is in the historical centre and just 15 minutes walking distance from the main trainstation. Pleanty of good restaurants and bars around. Excellent wifi

A desk lamp would be appreciated as well as a choice of more international television stations. Also there is no fridge in the room. Bathroom is clean and functional

We went to Cologne for Christmas markets. The hotel is not more than 1 km away from the Cathedral and the Christmas market beside it. Neumarkt Christmas market is 2 km away, but we took 16/18 tube and the station is close the hotel. The breakfast is generous, as other guests mentioned. We parked our car in the hotel garage for 15 euro per day, and the price is much cheaper compared with the parking places across the street.

No electronic kettle in the room. The hairdryer is too old.

Hotel was in a lovely quiet area, only 10 minutes walk from Central train station which was ideal as we got train from and to airport

We had to book out of hotel at 1.30am to catch our flight. The man at reception had no English and we couldn't speak German he was trying to charge us for the 3 nights stay but we had already paid, I showed him the receipt but because it was printed in English it caused a problem, we finally got it sorted with great difficulty

The room was clean and had plenty of space. The receptionist was kind and helpful. The hotel is close to the station and very well connected to the rest of the city, even on foot.

Matresses could be more comfortable but were enough. There were few power outlets and it was difficult to charge all our devices at the same time.

Great location in Koln near good restaurants and a 15 minute walk to the Dom and train station. Street parking is available on weekends. Otherwise they have an adjacent parking garage. Beds were comfortable, and the balcony in the larger room was nice.

The smaller room had an AC unit that dripped condensation everywhere. Also the door didn’t close without slamming it and the window was difficult to close all the way so the street noise came through.

Everything was perfect.

We booked 3 rooms. 1 room for 3 persons, 1 room for 2 persons and 1 room for 1 person. The price for the room for 2 and 1 was the same. No problem so far. But the room for 1 person was very small and had 1 single bed. In my opinion it is not fair to charge the same price for a significant smaller room.
