Eden Hotel Früh am Dom

rooms are extremely big, with a very good shower and heating too. most of the staff could also communicate either in english or italian. the restaurant is a big plus when you don't feel like going far for dinner after a day exploring the city and the vicinities. the hotel is very central.

some channels in english would have been appreciated, just to keep it running as a background when in the room

We arrived at the main Cologne railway station, so the hotel is only 5 minutes walk away. The breakfast had a good buffet breakfast, all very fresh and with something to suit all tastes. The room was bright and airy with tilt and turn windows which could be left open at night for ventilation. There were electric shutters and curtains at the windows to block out the early morning light.

The room does not have facilities for making a hot drink, nor does it have a mini fridge to store cold drinks. These items would be more useful that the tablet which is in each room. Most people use their own devices to connect to the internet.

The hotel is ideally located, 5 mins walk from the station and 2mins from the cathedral. It is clean and modern with good lifts to the higher floors where there are great views. It is within a few minutes' walk of 2 of the delightful Christmas markets. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the beds comfortable. Very good varied breakfast. You won't need to eat til the evening!!!

No kettle. I would give the hotel 9or 10 if there were a kettle in the room. When you have spent hours sightseeing and pavement pounding it is nice to go back and rest for an hour or two with a cup of tea before going out again for the evening. Very disappointed. We stayed for 5 nights and every morning when we woke, sometimes in the afternoon and every night until about 1am there was scraping of furniture, banging of doors and dropping of items from the floor above. This was not just an isolated event. We had no idea what was going on but when I went to investigate there were no sounds from the room above and nobody answered when I knocked. Strange.

Extremely clean, spacious room, helpful staff, perfect location walking distance to major attractions. The room didn't have a coffee/tea maker, but they gave us a water boiler which worked well. There was water in the room every day and they did room service. Breakfast was good and items provided were fresh. Beds were comfortable and overall, we had a nice and comfortable stay.

The staff were a bit strict about amount of shampoo and soap they provided. We were running out on our last day and they insisted to only gives us a tiny bit more and said "that was enough"! Though it would have stayed in the container for the next guest! Getting them to switch sparking water to still water everyday was also a bit of hassle.

The welcome was very kind, the room was nice and warm, there was a decent amount of space, everything was functional and accessible, and we loved the big windows which gave a proper view. Also, the breakfast was tasty and diverse.

The room needs to be ventilated much more and the bed and the pillows need to be patted because there was a lot of dust. Also the sheets need to be washed with a fresh parfume, so is the room, so we can feel we enter in a fresh environment with some olfactory identity that would make it a great memory. Finally, comfier pillows would be appreciated but these were okay.

Location: perfect. P.S: If you're going, keep in mind that near the Hotel are under construction so maybe it could be a little bit tricky to find it.

Excellent breakfast, and round the corner from the hotel in same building, super bar/restaurant for lunches and suppers

The style of pillow is unsuited to my particular neck problem, I needed a thin rectangular feather pillow, should have bought my own! And hotel kindly lent us a kettle as they don't supply a kettle in the room with teabags, as would be normal in the UK, we English tourists need their early morning tea in bed, we couldn't call room service to just bring tea to the room at eg 6.30 am, but this is a minor quibble!

Beautiful and lovely styled hotel. The bed we're good and the bathroom was good. Absolute great location in the center and near the station. Nice souvernirshop and acces to the Fruh am Dom brauhaus pub at the hotel.

It was a bit warm in the room so we opened the window, but it was a bit noisey outside, on the other hand that's what you can expect with a hotel in the city center. Roomservice option on the tablet didn't work.

The location is the best asset of the hotel. It is near everything we look forward to as tourists: shopping center, fastfood, train station, hop on hop off stop, and the iconic Cologne cathedral. Even though there was some construction/digging going on just beside the hotel, this didn't bother us since the windows were sound proof. This is a highly recommended place to stay.

I would have liked it if there was a personal refrigerator inside the room. A little updating of the room would be nice, although the present condition is acceptable. The floor of the shower is a little slippery.

Excellent location, in view of the cathedral, and close to restaurants, galleries and museums, and the main shopping district. The room was clean and comfortable, a reasonable size for the price I paid. I can't imagine a better location for a short stay in Cologne as everything was so close.

Only a couple of English-language choices on the in-room TV, or the ability to stream to the TV. There was an amount of beer advertising in the room decor that some might find off-putting but we thought was amusing.
