Hotel Europaischer Hof Hamburg

Everything was excellent with the exception of the breakfast. It was beautifully laid out and we thought this will be good, unfortunately the hot breakfast was cold and the plates were icy cold. I pointed this out in the dining room and got a grunt from the I assume chef. Everything was the same the morning after so I mentioned it to reception and they said they would put in a report. For the whole two weeks we were there the hot breakfast hotplate and plates were cold this is why the rating from us is down.

It is great that it is just opposite the station. I came in on a rainy day and just jumped over the street into the hotel. And the next morning took the train to airport. Great as well that they provide free train ticket for local transport. Breakfast and room are nice as well.

Great location and you get three days free travel with your stay on all busses, trams etc. Additionally, tickets for the habour trips are cheaper when buying there. Brilliant hotel. Didn't try the pool area, something for next time.

Breakfast was a buffet and everyone was coughing. Didn't like that.

If you travel by train, this is a perfect option, just right on the other side of the main train station. Breakfast is very good! A hotel with long history remains quite good condition. Will definately come again when I'm in Hamburg. BTW, after reservation, you'll be granted a public transportation ticket for the city, subject to S-bahn, U-bahn, buses etc.

It's under renewal construction now, sometimes you hear some drilling noise or something like that and if you have big luggages, you have to go through some stairs before you reach the elevator. Prices are a little expensive.

On arrival the staff were amazing, provided us with an early check in. The beds and pillow were the most comfortable for any hotel I stayed in. The breakfast was amazing plenty of variety for different people. The spa area was great, fanstastic sauna and gym also. Fantastic location with train station across the way

The location is very convenient and well connected to the conference center, I had to go there daily. Breakfast was superb, lots of choice, very fresh, some items cooked on spot. The room was more spacious than I expected and the bed comfortable, the bathroom had a bathtub. I liked the old-fashioned look, everything was still clean and functional.

Unfortunately, the wellness area was closed for renovation, which would have made our stay even more comfortable.

I had an unfortunate fall and fractured my leg in the city. I needed medical help, the hotel staff made me feel comfortable and immediately arranged for the ambulance to pick me up. When I was back from the hospital, they proactively moved my room to a more wheelchair friendly room and even breakfast and lunch in the room. Also, the stay comes with complimentary train rides for 3 days, which was helpful while moving around the city.

We got an upgrade to a rather large room with a sofa. that was nice. Room was comfortable and there was complementary beer in the room which was unexpected. We wanted to be close to station and this was as close as could be. Breakfast was very good.

Reception staff seemed a bit stressed upon arrival. Bar staff did not seem to understand what I wanted. We got woken up at 9am by cleaning staff asking if the mini bar should be refilled. Strange as we were leaving that day. But overall these were minor.

The hotel is currently under renovation which will add more facilities. We chose it for location as we needed to be close to the main station. It is literally opposite!

It lacks character and has a warren of corridors including up and down several short stair cases. A lift is available for some parts but if there are mobility issues it would be prudent to ask for an accessible room
