Large, clean room, with full height windows opening onto a garden lookout area Serene and peaceful location just minutes away from a vibrant and popular restaurant and shopping area Bright and airy space with very high 12 foot ceilings Greeted with large bed and a "First Class Style" welcome of towels shaped as two swans and chocolates Great area, within easy walking distance of train station, restaurants, tourist sights, and shopping Two blocks ( walking ) to a fantastic food store called Edeka (I think) on Lange Reihe strasse which had great food and beer Also within walking distance to a largely immigrant shopping area with cheaper produce stores, "dollar store" markets, bakeries, and lots of middle eastern fast food eats. A great place to pick up items like socks, umbrellas, etc. Friendly, helpful staff, who make guests feel welcome on arrival, and provide you with basic information about the hotel's area along with a map marked with specific areas of interest Toiletries and towels supplied and replenished Good breakfast A selection of fresh foods served in the bright dining or outdoor garden area in the morning Great lattes made on request at breakfast Appreciated the peace and quiet of the room and being on a lower floor with easy stair access to our space Two okay burger places close by, (but the best one was Brooklyn Burger) about 20 minutes walk away

Furniture arrangement made navigating the room somewhat challenging due to narrow space between the bed and the built in desk area that was along the opposite wall Having to step over the side of the the tub to shower may present a problem for some older and less agile people It would be nice to have a small table with two chairs by the window

Good location and within walking distance of the city centre. Plenty of space in the bedroom. Very friendly helpful staff and good breakfast. Excellent water pressure in the shower. Complimentary water.

It was very hot during our stay and despite having a fan in the room it was difficult to stay cool. The lift was out of order for six days during our stay and as we were on the second floor and not as mobile this was difficult. The shower was excellent but was difficult to climb into and potentially hazardous although there was a bar to help.

Room was a generous size with a well sized bathroom. we were on the top floor facing onto the street, also right next to the elevator, and there was no external noise or elevator noise that we noticed (although we only stayed Monday and Tuesday evening so it was generally quiet). The rooms are basic but comfortable. The beds were comfortable and there was aircon which was effective - slightly noisy but easy to cope with. Breakfast was a simple European style buffet with the usual meat, cheese and bread etc, also some hot options - scrambled/boiled egg and streaky bacon. there was also an assortment of cheese, pate and also smoked salmon. There is a garden/patio area at the rear of the property where you can take your breakfast or just sit and chill. the staff were very friendly and there were also 2 very chilled/well behaved dogs who generally roam around (/nap) on the ground floor. Location - very easy to get to the central train station (10 mins walk) and into the old town, 20 minutes or so to the rathaus and main city center for shopping and tourism etc. It is an easy walk along the side of the lake. Taxi into the city was just under 15 euro. We were there for a gig at the sporthalle which was a 12 minute taxi (20 euro) or 40+ minutes on public transport

If pushed to pick a fault, the seating in the bedroom wasn't the most comfortable.

The hotel is situated in a lovely residential area. It has a beautiful back garden and an Italian restaurant connected where I had a couple of delicious dinners. The breakfast spread was expansive, fresh, and generously included. There were two delightful golden retrievers to greet guests. I slept like a happy baby in the comfortable bed. All around great place to stay - felt more like staying with friends than in a hotel!

Nothing - can't think of a single improvement! It was pricier than some hotels, but well worth the price.

Hotel is in a beautiful location in Hamburg's best neighbourhood (St. Georg), only a couple of blocks away from the titular Aussen Alster. Although it does not perhaps meet the "four star" designation given to it by Booking.com, the proprietors of this hotel do the absolute best they can with an older building (many of the fixtures date back to the 1980's), making it romantic, stylish, and classy. The rooms were extremely comfortable and clean, with touches like an espresso machine, the lobby is beautifully furnished, and the breakfast was both great in variety and presented with attention to aesthetic detail. Staff are extremely friendly. Definitely worth the very reasonable cost for a vacation. Outdoor garden is also lovely.

Sauna was not turned on.

Beautiful property with two very calm golden retrievers that roam around the lobby and outside area greeting guests. Absolutely loved coming downstairs or coming back from sightseeing to see the dogs!!! The AC in the rooms was fantastic. Overall loved everything about the rooms. The breakfast offered is very good. Staff onsite were very nice. The location is also fantastic. Not a single thing bad to say about this hotel, highly recommend staying here.

This is a good small hotel with a bohemian/arty feel in keeping with its location. The staff are friendly and efficient. Our room was bright and the bed comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel.

What this hotel does not deserve is a 4* rating. The corridor leading to our room can really only be described as pokey. The door of the room was cheap and flimsy and not at all soundproof. The bathroom whilst being adequate was small and poorly ventilated. I really don't enjoy being so critical but we have stayed in many 3* hotels with a superior quality feel. 4* is an entirely different level.

Good location very near the Alster lake and the bus to the station and town. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was excellent. On the whole it was clean and the beds were comfortable.

The entrance is uninviting and the steps up are very steep. We were disappointed that the restaurant was shut. The room was tidy but we found paper and a broken pen behind the bedside table when we moved it to find a plug. The first day the cups were left unwashed. I asked for a quiet room but we had a room at the front where there was intermittent traffic noise. I think the hotel had recently been taken over and will have new improvements.

Location is in a great neighborhood with lots of eateries very close by, while being a block and a half off of the main street, so it's nice and quiet and night. The breakfast was lovely, and we greatly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay again.

We have no criticism of this hotel at all. Very comfortable and quiet. We would happily return to Hamburg and stay at this hotel again.

The location was perfect, 15 minutes walk from the main train station and the Lange Reihe, a small street of bars and restaurants. The staff were always helpful and the room was made up perfectly, replenishing coffee and water.

The room was rather cold as there was a small radiator under the window and single glazing. The house is not modernized so this could have been expected. The lift was being renewed but I received a free drink at the bar in compensation.
