Villa Maïa

Location was fairly central and up on a hill that overlooked the city of Lyon and was so beautiful. Staff was very quick with showing us the rooms and facilities and explaining where to eat. The bar was chic and bartender was knowledgeable. Staff was quick to bring us anything we needed (e.g., an iron for pressing clothes).

Nothing except perhaps the price, but expected this at a 5 star hotel. Because we had reservations for a city tour and then dinner at Paul Bocuse (20 minute taxi ride), we did not have a chance to dine at the hotel (one night stay only)

The hotel is situated on a hill above the old time and has breathtaking views of Lyon. The property is modern, clean and peaceful. The spa and large pool are a welcome respite after a long day seeing the city. The hotel is tranquil and the staff very helpful and kind. We had an early taxi and when we opened our door, a member of the staff was waiting to take down our luggage and offered to make us a quick café before we left. The service was excellent.

Though this was not a problem for us personally, if you have physical limitations you may want to consider a property within the old town or elsewhere. The hotel requires quite an uphill climb (either by road or stairs) to reach from the old town. Again, it was fine for us and made us feel quite virtuous after partaking of many delicious meals in Lyon but be aware that you will have to do some walking to reach it or take a lot of cabs.

Staff are outstanding, so helpful, efficient and friendly. Receptionists, concierge team are fantastic. They helped plan my sightseeing and organised 2 great taxis during my stay. Housekeeping was also top notch and nothing was a problem. Very helpful bringing in extra bedding etc. Lovely room service and bar team. Great relaxing bar for drinks and meals. Fabulous bedroom overlooking garden. Faultless from beginning to end.

I found it close to perfection!

Very comfortable good location. Room was very well designed. Beds are extremely comfortable. Amazing view of Lyon. A good luxury stay, I felt very comfortable there.

Room service menu was not the best, it could do with some simple options 'comfort food'. We wanted to watch a movie and get a few small snacks but there was not enough options for this. Downstairs bar service was a little slow.

Very nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Hotel positioned well above the town with a great view. Our room had a very nice little terrace looking onto natural gardens; was very peaceful. Room service was good and punctual. Hotel seemed new and well decorated/designed. Great pool (although a tad cold!).

A couple of minor details could have been better: - there were no towels in the swimming pool changing area - the room was not made up when we went out

Loved everything about this hotel, from the contact when I first booked, the amazing customer service, fabulous room and lovely touches for our dogs. We also loved the breakfast, the cocktails, and the effort made to get us a table at the nearby rooftop restaurant. We are already planning a return visit

Google maps not great in finding the hotel - not hotel’s fault, it was fantastic experience

the staff was absolutely wonderful, Marion, Annie, Francois, room service, spa: the therapists are fantastic, the room is very quiet and feels comfortable

get a professional Espesso machine and get a barista course to upgrade the coffee experience more towels in the spa area and fix the drain issues

the location is rather isolated sitting up on hill near Notre Dame cathedral. There are few restaurants nearby unless you walk down (about a 15 minute walk). To return there is either walking or use the funicular

Rooms were spacious: location was brilliant

We ate in the Michelin star restaurant which is part of the hotel Service was slow 1.5 hours before our food order arrived… my husbands beef was raw and could not be cut they only reduced the cost of this by 50% and a free coffee …. Whole meal took nearly 3 hours !!! Would not use it better places to eat

Service is good. Stuff is professional.

Breakfast does not match the level of the hotel.
