Finding a hotel with parking in downtown Lyon is tricky at best - especially off you want a hotel that has some traditional charm and isn't a cookie-cutter American-style hotel like you can find in major cities all over the world. I was so very happy to have come across this beautiful, charming hotel right in the heart of Lyon for the first two days of our trip. Were able to park right out front to drop off our bags and check-in and then I had to move my car a few blocks away to an underground garage at the Alexandra Hotel that they have an arrangement with, for an extra charge of course. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. You have to carry your bags up top the reception and then there is a small elevator if you want to use it to go up to higher floors. Our room was absolutely beautiful, with a fantastic, comfy bed and big windows that opened out onto Place Bellecour. We really wanted the old-style bathtub as well, which was delight to soak in after long walks through the city. With the windows closed you couldn't really hear any of the street traffic except for the odd motorcycle. Breakfast was absolutely amazing and the pretty girl who made our coffees and eggs was absolutely charming and very friendly. Located in a very safe part of the city and within walking distance of some really terrific restaurants - I can not recommend this hotel highly enough!!

What a gem of a hotel! It was truly like stepping back in time to the Belle Epoque but with all of the modern comforts. Every little detail was thought of -- the tea kettle in the room is disguised as a porcelain tea set, the thermostat is hidden behind a tiny paneled wooden box that fits seamlessly in the sorroundings -- the light switches have been carefully selected to envoke the feeling of stepping back in time. The room was meticulously decorated, clean, and comfortable and had a beautiful view of the square. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even provided an option for parking (30/night), which is to leave your car in the secure parking garage of a nearby hotel, which we found very helpful and practical and cheaper than other options in the bigger garages in the area. Would definitely stay again!

I don't think this is a handicap accessible property. While there is an elevator in the hotel itself, you first have to go up a flight of stairs to reach the lobby of the hotel. To the best of my knowledge, there is no elevator available on the ground floor.

The location was great, close to great restaurants and just across the bridge from the historic old part of Lyon. No elevator to our room with lots of luggage was initially disappointing but the staff helped us carry everything up. The room was wonderful, very comfortable and clean. They brought us a fan to help cool things down. The breakfasts were amazing, with fresh baked pastries, breads, eggs, coffee and juices served in a beautifully decorated dining room. The staff went out of their way to make sure that any questions were answered or directions given. I would definitely book this for another stay in Lyon.

An elevator would have been nice but no place to put one in an older building.

The design and thought that had gone into a retro decoration. Obviously a project of love by the owner. Loved the decoration. Breakfast one of the best breakfast experiences and as a luxury hotelier I have had many. Not copious but well organised, choice and well reflected upon. All home made and prepared.

Parking was available but in a different hotel. Not as convenient as would have liked but was a good solution given the location of the hotel. No TV in the room was a little strange but in reality would have been more strange if in place as no appropriate location for it. Tablet alternative was available with TV channels but we found it more relaxing to have no TV.

A hotel in a historic building, where a renovation was carried out in perfect early 20th century style, taking care of even the smallest details: from the porcelain sockets, to the bronze switches, to the stylish enamelled metal tub, to the late 19th century furniture, to the kettle in ceramic, to the fireplace in the room. The excellent breakfast, served in a stylish room with a wide choice of local cheeses, charcuterie and exquisite homemade cakes. Staff very helpful. Impeccable cleaning.

The reception of the hotel is located on the first floor. The lift also starts from that floor.

Atmosphere of the rooms was fantastic, with great attention to detail. Air conditioning was a great plus and the beds were extremely comfortable. Rooms were clean and the service tidied up even more than we expected. Staff were friendly and helpful. Service in English was also no problem. Breakfast is pricey but worth it. Everything is self-made, fresh, and delicious. Would recommend having breakfast at least once during your stay.

The suggested parking slot, property of another hotel, is really too small. When it's full, it's extremely difficult to get out, even if you have a small car (I had an audi a1). I believe the hotel should find an alternative.

This was one of the most unique, quirky properties I ever stayed at. It was perfect for the context that I was looking for. I will certainly remember my stay at this unique location. was like stating in a well curated museum. Nice bathtub, view, location. I really liked the decor/ atmosphere. despite the retro vibe, the Wifi was quite good. close to many markets, bouchon, transportation.

well, this is not some modern property with the current stock market prices scrolling across the room, while you check your overseas investments. in fact, there isn’t even a TV. It is a bit quirky, the breakfast and food service is lacking, but step outside for unlimitless possibilities. If you are physically limited, the walk up the stairs may be challenging.

We had a view facing the square, which was noisy with traffic if the window was open, but when shut it was sound proof. The location to the city and restaurants was second to none and the car parking the under ground Bellecour carpark was in very close walking distance from the hotel. The breakfast was exceptional, so much was homemade. (Yogurts, conserves, cakes) there was a great choice from cereal to cold meats and local cheeses and the lady looking after the small breakfast room was very attentive and informative and would cook you eggs if required. The room and the hotel had so much traditional charm that we thought ourselves very lucky to have found such a place. If you want a historical place to stay in this is the one. They don't do lunch or dinner, but there are so many places to eat nearby it is not an issue.

Our traditional looking china electric kettle, which although very fitting with the style of the room had a severely broken spout. When pouring boiling water into our tea cups the water poured onto the tray and saucer too. It needs to be replaced. I'm sure if we'd asked at the time they would have changed it though as the staff were very accommodating.

We spent 4 nights in Lyon. The staff at the hotel reception and daily room service were very friendly. It is tucked away, only a doorway from the street and then through a corridor and up a staircase to get to reception. Room was spacious, nice double sinks in bathroom. Very central location, excellent to access everything.

Unfortunately we stayed during a heatwave. The room had air-conditioning, but despite being on the apparent cold setting one night, the air conditioning did not work and we were left sweltering. There is a little house icon to press on the thermostat that I believe disables the automatic turning off based on movement detection. Once we worked this out, the rest of the nights were pleasant.
