Hotel du Théatre

Excellent location. Great value for the money. Easy access. If you want to visit old town of Lyon this hotel's location cannot be beaten. Right next to everything. Also very easy to reach from airport-train station.

Room was very very small. It was very uncomfortable to try to get dress at the same time. No space for putting luggage while using the table or hang clothes etc. 0 accessibility for disabled but they are pretty informative about it. You need to go up 3 floors to reach hotel, but it was not a big issue for us.

Definitely coming back. Staff were absolutely wonderful, the location is the best- just cross the bridge and you’re right in the heart of Vieux Lyon. Excellent, daily housekeeping. We had the spacious upgraded double and a wonderful view of the Theatre. Our boys had the regular double and they liked it too. The only thing one needs to know is that there are no elevators, as this is an old building. We didn’t mind at all but others might.

The hotel location where is the best that I more than expected. Very close the river also open air market and the squares - Place Ballacour. No need to use any transportation very close to old town and city of heart just walking distance Every day cleaning was very welcome. Lastly the staff are very helpfull and have kind manner. Nice to stay Hotel du Theatre next time I will prefer there once again.

First night was a bit noisy but the staff was very supportive to change my room and next days was very calm.

Everthing. Best location, 5 minutes walking to one of the main locations of the city, Place Bellecour, where can be found the main tourist center. Staff very friendly and helpful. Although we had a 3 beds-room, in the first night we have united 2 of the beds and in the second evening we found new sheets already adjusted to a double-bed by the cleaning staff. Room clean, very comfy beds, hair-dryer in the bathroom, in the morning you can have a french classic breakfast.

Excellent location. 50 m to the main street full of bars etc Excellent for a weekend break.

No air conditioning. Slept with the windows wide open, no covers and the tiny (supplied) fan on all night. Lots and lots of stairs. 4 flights to get to reception. More to the rooms. Only 1/2 toilet roll provided ? Surely a full new one should be provided, and a reserve, but other hotels in France were the same. BYO.

Clean, comfortable, and bigger than average room with a view of the theatre! Lovely staff who didn’t mind conversing in a mixture of English and French. Very close to shopping and restaurant strip, as well as metro. I would stay again in a heartbeat!

The entrance was down a backstreet with plenty of construction, and it only felt minimally unsafe at night. However, the positives outweigh this very small negative!

The food tips from the receptions, they were the best. I can't stress how good the restaurant was that they guided us to. Friendly staff and a clean room with a lovely view

Stairs, but I knew there would be some, it's just a bit much as we walked all day that there was no elevator.

It was clean and a great shower. The staff were helpful and it is centrally located. Quite a basic room, but we only stayed one night so no problem.

3 flights of stairs to get to reception and then 2 more to our room. But building regulations do not allow a lift. You get to walk off all that French food!

Vert convenient location just outside the city wall and a short walk to the city centre restaurants attractions etc.

The basic priced room is very small and would definitely not be very comfortable for a couple. There are also several flights of stairs which are a little precarious if you have a large or heavy bag to contend with.

Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, great view from the room overlooking the theatre. Great location of the hotel. Cosy and comfortable rooms and nothing missing for a great visit.

Only one little thing: there are indeed many stairs up to the room, especially after a long walk in the city. However, we were already aware of it as it is clearly specified in the hotel description.
