Hôtel Les Genêts Bayonne

Nice distance out of the city, well run, with a great restaurant and bar next door. Good parking facilities. Room was small but functional.

Only one thing, we stayed 2 nights, and after the cleaner had done up our room we discovered that our air tags had been stolen, one out of each of our main bags. When I approached management about this they were very good. They said they will attend to the problem and did not charge us for the magnificent meal we had in the restaurant to show their good faith. Only our air tags were taken and we can only think whoever did it must have assumed we would not check them as we do every day.

It was great that they were welcoming pets at the hotel. The receptionist was very helpful to try to get something for dinner since the restaurant of the hotel was closed for the weekend (which was a little bit strange since we were preparing ourselves to have dinner there).

It is strange that the restaurant is usually closed on weekends. We were on a long trip (I drove 11 hours that day) and thought to have dinner at the hotel. The receptionist was so helpful, trying to order something online but he failed to do that. Even if it was not late in the evening, there was no place to get food within walking distance. Since we were exhausted we could not go out, I did not want to get back to the car again after the second day of driving all day.

Great location for our overnight stop, close by and easy access to autoroute. The staff were lovely very accommodating, the guy on the reception even made us tea and coffee in the restaurant area rather than us using the machine in the foyer as he said it was nicer. Very dog friendly

Only one set of towels, probably could have asked for more but we were only there for 12 hours so didn’t bother. No evening meals available.

Staff was incredibly friendly and pleasant to deal with. We had a double room with single bed that was a tad small to be honest, but otherwise, everything needed was in there. Unfortunately the restaurant is not open during the weekends which is a shame as we really wanted to try it out. There is not much around either (if you dont have a car) so the safest option was delivery. Overall it was still a very nice experience, again thanks to the really lovely staff.

Clean, comfortable and warm, it was a very cold wet night when we stayed. Breakfast excellent and plentiful with lots of choice.

We were not keen on the "pod" bathroom, the room was a good size but the bathroom was similar to something found in a holiday lodge. A small one piece pod with a WC, washbasin & shower in a very small space. Usable but probably not something I'd would like to encounter again.

Very easy to find, it was on my route into Spain so no unnecessary detour. It had its own parking and it's own restaurant which was excellent.

There was nothing I disliked. Everything suited me. All the staff I spoke to were very friendly and the receptionist ask if I wanted her to continue in English when she saw I was struggling with my French.

Top notch comfy big bed with lovely soft white duvet. Clean. Lots of storage space. Lovely helpful people on reception. Reasonable value for money. Hot powerful shower.

The bathroom was a plastic cubicle plastered with images of hairy male hands. Honest! Too bad I didn't get a photo of this alarming taste faux pas .

Loved the food, I ate the cod fish with sweet potato it was amazing. Very clean, friendly staff who spoke English and dog friendly which i loved. Would definitely recommend it for family queen kids and dogs.

That i missed their breakfast. It smelled amazing.
