Hôtel Littéraire Jules Verne, BW Signature Collection

Great location. Very convenient and a 10 min walk to the centre of town. The staff were very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to check everything was fine for us. This is a unique style of hotel with its literary theme and is tastefully decorated. It has the best designed layout of a bathroom that we have come across. The parking was easy but you need to find somewhere to park first before you get the entry token. Not that easy as a one way street where the parking entrance is. It was very quiet in our room despite being fairly central. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. The room was very comfortable and clean. It was one of the best hotels we have stayed in at this sort of price. We would love to return and will probably put it on our travel itinerary again. It is of standard to its sister hotel in Rouen but this one probably edges it. Pity we didn’t have time to use the pool.

Absolutely nothing

The hotel is lovely, bright, and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was really comfortable - great coffee and tea! I really like the efforts toward improving sustainability, every small implementation makes a difference (I think a notice to guests reminding the value of a short shower would be good).

My only very small and selfish 'dislike' (more of a case of 'if only..') would be the bar/restaurant felt a little lacking in atmosphere - felt like a breakfast room, even in the evening, rather than a place to gather in a social environment. But that's all.

Brilliant location for exploring all areas of Biarritz. The hotel recommended restaurants for us in advance via a survey and we ate every night somewhere they suggested - I definitely recommend following their advice. The staff were all so lovely and accommodating. You can rent beach equipment from the reception if you’re heading down for the day. The rooms are small - it’s worth reading the other reviews, but it didn’t impact our stay in what turned out to be a fantastic hotel. Highly recommend!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus Hotel Litteraire Jules Verne. It was very clean and the staff were very helpful and professional. Our room was spacious and bright, with a clean bathroom. Small touches like 2 free cartons of water in the room and a note to congratulate us on our anniversary were much appreciated. The bed and pillows were also very comfortable, and the shower was the perfect pressure. We did not have breakfast whilst at the hotel so we cannot comment on this. The pool is a great place to visit also. Plenty of lounge chairs to use and they are all spaced out so you are not too on top of the next person. The hotel also provide separate pool towels, just ask for them at reception. The location of this hotel is great, particularly for the bus to/from the airport and if you want to take the bus to San Sebastian or Bilbao, both stops are within 5 mins walking distance of the hotel. It's around a 10 minute walk in to the centre of Biarritz where you have plenty of bars, restaurants, bakeries and local shops to browse. There are 3 beaches within easy walking distance of the hotel: Plage de la Cote des Basques, Plage du Port Vieux & la grand plage. We would absolutely stay at this hotel again if we go back to Biarritz.

The ventilation in the bathroom could be a bit better however it is not a deal breaker for us, we still very much enjoyed our stay here.

Friendly and active staff. We lived in a hotel with a cat. Upon arrival in the room there was an animal couch, water and a toy for the cat. It was very nice. The room is small but clean and quiet. Our room was located on the ground floor opposite the pool and we didn't hear any noise in the morning. In the rooms and throughout the hotel there are many books by Jules Verne, which justifies the name of the hotel. The hotel has parking.

Not very comfortable beds.

Gorgeous, elegant, modern hotel. Very clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Room was tastefully decorated and we were especially delighted with the easy-access wet room for my fragile husband. Coffee machine, teas..and china cups, a treat! Up on a hill it is a pleasant stroll down to the shops and bars. However, the walk back up could be difficult; we used services of local taxi firm which were excellent value. We enjoyed meals at La Coupole, excellent fish and chips! Biarritz is fantastic 👏 Acquarium worth a visit. If you eat fish,, book at Chez Albert, in the Old Port, a very special treat!

Only uphill walk on a very hot day. Get the taxi! Excellent service. Breakfast was nice at the hotel, just overpriced in our opinion.

Great communication before stay and the restaurant recommendations were much appreciated. Friendly & helpful staff. Lovely pool area with comfortable loungers and towels provided. Extremely clean and rooms made up every day. Nuxe toiletries. Happy to store luggage. Water at reception. Quirky decor. Excellent shower. Silent at night. Comfortable beds. Good A/C. USB charging points. Right beside Carrefour, Fernandez bakery & bus stop to San Sebastián. 5 minute walk to restaurants. Would happily stay again!

A fridge in the room would have been great.

A very clean and superbly decorated hotel with the Jules Verne theme abundant. Very easy to walk into town from the location. The breakfast was superb with lots of choice and a long eating session from 7am up to 11am - great for night owls like me, who rarely venture out for breakfast before 10am! Very secure car park too. The staff very friendly and available if needed.

For me the bed was the least comfortable of the 4 that we slept on this trip and the bedding quite rough too. My partner had a better sleep than me, which is rare, as she found it ok. Very stuffy room, possibly due to its small size and the fact we were in room 312 on the third floor.

The hotel is really a little jewel with the added interest of being dedicated to Jules Verne. It is stylish and comfortable and is only a short walk down to the centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It also has its own parking - a bonus on a road trip. The hotel was strewn with little bits of memorabilia linked to the author and even the rooms had their own names - from people associated with him - really fascinating.

The room was a little small for the price but was clean and comfortable.

The hotel was conveniently located about a 5-10 minute walk from the centre. The heated pool was a great facility to have with my kids (teens). We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but there are loads of nice options in the centre.

The rooms are tiny! It is more a b&b than a hotel. They're aren't any food and beverage facilities besides breakfast.
