Campanile Bayonne

it’s convenience to Bayonne and other cities near by.The staff were excellent , welcoming , helpful and accommodating. The restaurant was spotless and the buffet breakfast and buffet salad and evening meals were delicious compliments to the chef and kitchen team .

We felt the accommodation .ie the bedrooms would benefit from a makeover . The bed linen and towels were spotless but we felt the floor in the room was tacky and worn and when we first entered the room there was a damp smell . one of the members of staff came and washed some mould from around the window frame , it made it look better .

Good size room, pleasant staff spoke English, French and Spanish. Good onsite restaurant. Good location for the town and opposite a retail park with fuel McDonald's, American Diner, and a Noodle bar.

Situated on a very busy roundabout, so traffic noises could be a problem. There was a motorcycle show in Biarritz, so the roundabout was very busy with traffic from the show, probably not an issue normally.

Stayed at this hotel on two occasions on my journey from Spain to UK via France. Good service and friendly staff. Room very comfortable and large. Good breakfast. My evening meal was a little difficult in translation, my 1st course was in a jar, my 2nd in a basket, saved by the dessert, good old fruit salad with cream and ice cream

Overall there was nothing in particular that I disliked

A nice warm welcome on arrival at Reception, all done very quickly - and able to do so in English. The rooms are a tried and tested set up in Campanile which makes the rooms look bright. My sister appreciated being on a ground floor due to her lack of mobility. The comfortable bed was a massive plus and the hotel chain only charges €5 per dog for a night’s stay. There was a small area for the dogs in the grounds, but if you want to give them a decent walk, you need to drive elsewhere. Excellent choice for breakfast.

There was a lingering smell of stale smoke in my room which I masked with spraying perfume. The carpets look old and could do with a change soon.

Quick check in, comfortable beds, kettle and tea and coffee, good shower, easy parking. Near the Atelier du Chocolat. The covered terrace outside the restaurant for relaxing. Supermarkets nearby.

Need better car arrival instructions about exiting from the roundabout. Quite a lot of traffic noise - near motorway exit and busy roads. Limited dining options within walking distance. Being woken up by the fire alarm at 6am one morning and drunken idiot guests the next.

Lovely staff. helpful and informative, Very clean rooms and I may say very hot water. No problem on Sat Nav finding the hotel. Return stay on my way back to Spain after holiday in UK

Well located for our onward journey. Staff friendly and pleasant. Bed very comfortable and bathroom really good too. Evening meal was good, waitress very helpful. Breakfast excellent with lots of choices, buffet style. Would stay again and would recommend.

Difficulty to get a taxi, but not hotel's fault

It's a Campanile - A brilliant chain, for value for money one night stop overs. Easy parking, easy access to the rooms, good plain food and we had brilliant service from the Bayonne Campanile.

Good choice for breakfast. Plat de jour for evening meal was excellent value. Staff very helpful and professional.

Parking spaces could be a little wider .( But plenty of parking available and secure)
