I have nothing but good to say about our stay. My friend and I went over to Vancouver to search the downtown Eastside as her son is missing. We spent 2 days and 1 night (a Wednesday night). All the staff, especially the receptionist, were wonderful and so helpful. Our room was very clean, plenty of hot water for showers, and we had no noise issues (in the morning we only heard street traffic which is to be expected). Bus stop is right outside the front door. We appreciated the kindness and helpfulness of the staff so very much. I would recommend this hotel for sure.

The loveliest staff--they all clearly care about the Waldorf. There's so much good food nearby, and so many busses to just pop over to Chinatown or downtown.

The hall carpet could maybe use a refresh.

Good price, the staff was nice and helpful, there is a bus stop (for buses 14/16/20) right in front of the hotel, so it was easy to visit the center and get back to hotel (until 11 pm I think)

Somehow far from the center of the city, but again there were buses. However, the streets from the hotel to the center (especially main street) are quite full with homeless and drug addicted people, which could make a visitor quite uncomfortable if you only want to move around by walking. Also, had some little problems with the shower head, which had an unstable flow (so you need to increase/decrease the water flow continuously)

It’s great value for money. Rooms were clean, had AC, good security and I didn’t hear any noise. The staff were lovely, especially the lady with glasses who works during the day and checked me in, she was super nice and helpful.

While the area around the hotel is fine, to get to the main attractions like Gastown and Stanley Park you need to walk through Downtown Eastside which is a dodgy area with open drug use and homelessness issues. I got around this by taking an Uber to and from downtown for about CAD10 each way. This still worked out way cheaper than booking a more expensive hotel downtown.

Can’t beat the location and charm of the space. Considering how many places are disappearing in Vancouver this is a godsend, best price you can get anywhere and the location is fantastic for if you have an event in the area. Even though the area may seem a bit questionable, I assure you it’s safe there at night if a bit noisy especially if you’re with a group. Awesome events and also liquor store in the building. Staff is always always amazing.

Just the noise, and even with the cooling device in smaller room it can get really hot. In some of the bigger rooms they have stronger AC which cools down the space super quickly, though.

The staff are some of the most polite and helpful staff I've ever had the pleasure to encounter at a hotel. They are so personable and genuine x The beds are incredibly comfy , spotless clean and toasty in freezing winter. The character of the hotel is beautiful and is done in keeping with the beautiful original features including the staircase. I've stayed in hotels around the world and I've never been made feel so welcome and not just another room key 💚 sad that we missed your wonderful Christmas decorations you were busy putting up xx Felt like we were staying with family 💚

They can't help the area they're in, and the standard of the hotel is 2nd to none. We felt completely safe , parked our car in the alley beside the hotel, and had not one problem. I've had more problems outside some major hotel chains. There's nothing I could say I didnt like the whole stay was amazing , best staff ever.

Stayed here during two overnight stays within a month's time. The room away from Hastings Street was quiet and comfortable. The room facing Hastings Street was spacious, comfortable, and power points were conveniently positioned for recharging devices. Both rooms had a fridge and good-sized TV. No noisy neighbours. There is a budget grocery just across the road. Bus stops in front of the hotel and across the street. Managers were very friendly. Checking in was easy, including after midnight, though I suspect not so much if I had paid with cash.

The room facing away from Hastings Street was a bit small; would have been a bit awkward if I hadn't been alone. No conveniently placed power points for charging. Powder creamer for hot beverages is just awful. Bathroom fans that turn on automatically can be noisy during midnight pitstops. No elevator to help with heavy luggage or mobility-impairments.

Slept like a baby. Front desk staff was very nice as well as the rest of the hotel staff that I encountered. Good security as the area was a little bit sketchy but so is a lot of Vancouver now adays. I would stay here again.

The lobby was a bit dirty however keep in mind that there are shows in the bar downstairs from the accomidations and I think they were still cleaning up from the punk show that happened the night before.

Quirky little spot. Its on East Hastings which has a bad reputation, but its a block from Commercial and there were a dozen EXCELLENT restaurants within walking distance. The hotel was safe and secure. It's a historic building so its old but well maintained. I'm from a small town and I felt safe and enjoyed my stay. I will be back!

The front door has a lock to prevent rif-raf. The staff let you in until you are given a fob. It's good, but its a weird first impression. You get over it pretty quick once you realize it's for your security.
