Escale Hotel

First and foremost, the location of the hotel is a definite highlight. It's conveniently situated near Midi Station, making it a perfect choice for travelers relying on train, metro and tram connections. I found this to be incredibly convenient, especially for exploring the city of Brussels and for day trips to other places like Ghent, Antwerp, Liege and Bruges. The room I stayed in was quite spacious, providing ample room to move around and store luggage. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and I had no trouble getting a good night's sleep. The quality of the sleep was certainly aided by the comfortable mattresses and cozy bedding. One of the standout features of the Escale Hotel was the staff, particularly the receptionists. They were not only friendly but also extremely helpful. They were always ready to provide assistance, answer questions, and offer local recommendations. Their warm and welcoming demeanor truly added to the overall positive experience of the hotel.

The walls are not soundproof. While the spacious room and comfortable beds contributed to a good night's sleep, I occasionally heard noises from nearby rooms. This lack of soundproofing made it challenging to fully relax, especially when there was loud conversation or other disruptions from neighboring guests.

A nice and spacious room and bathroom. Very convenient with a desk, couch, chair, large cupboard and space for luggage. It was great that we could control the temperature in the room by turning the heater up or down. The staff were friendly and helpful. Convenient location near the Brussels South train station. Restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and a laundromat in the vicinity.

The bathroom was clean but the room was very dusty. Only two shelves in the cupboard as the rest appeared to have broken. It is a busy area. Our room was on the first floor and the noise from the street (buses and passers-by) was quite loud at night.

I find this hotel a gem in the sense that it was built in the 70s and has been superbly maintained so that it retains an original feel and is cosy (the windows are fairly new, double glazed and keep the noise out). And since maintenance is cheaper than renovation, it's great value for its location near the train station. If I had to stay for a week, I would choose this hotel.

I was entirely satisfied

Rooms were huge, a nice comfortable bed, clean bathroom, and an oddly big wardrobe :) It is located just behind a train station, is nearby the center; probably because of that, during night felt bit unpleasant to walk back, we were in a 4ppl group so nothing to really worry about but still something you might want to consider if alone.

Nearby offices and the station made morning bit noisy. Parking is not internal to the hotel, you need to walk around to hotel/block to reach it, bit inconvenient when carrying baggage.

- Location! Almost outside Brussels Midi station. - Nice and cozy hotel. - Stuff and reception always kind and willing to help. - Nice neighborhood and looks safe.

- Rooms could be a bit more cleaner, as there was dust under the beds. - The room need to be painted and change some stuff in the rooms. - The check in should start at 12 at least. At 14:30 in the afternoon, it's a little late.

Location of the hotel is perfect, 300 metres to the Midi station 🚉 very close to the train station, public transport and airport (Charleroi) shuttle bus. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Every day, they gave us clean towels, soaps and emptied the trash cans. Very simple room with an old furniture, but is ok for short stay.

The location is really close to the city centre and one of the main train stations is just 5 minutes away. Also, the bus that takes you from one of the airports has the arrival by the hotel door.

The heater was too high and we were sweating at the room every night.

Emoloyees were kind and provided us wirh hot water from the coffee machine couple of times. Location is quite good - close to Midi station and Flico buses from southern aiport. Convinient for getting arround the city. Pleanty of space in the room.

Well, it is quite old hotel :-) It should be renovated probably. But for a short stay on budget, it is ok.

During check-in, there was a misunderstanding about the reservation, but the receptionist solved it in the best way for us. Looking at the low ratings of other guests, my expectations were minimal. The room is very conformable, warm, clean, internet could be better, 7 minutes walk from the train station.

The only thing that annoyed me was the shampoo bag, which was difficult to open.

Large rooms with big windows, comfy bed and spacious shower, good space for luggage and clothes. Staff were friendly and helpful, use of gated car park is handy. Good price.

There was only one towel in the room and there was a piece of scrunched up toilet roll on the towel rail. A thicker pillow would be more comfortable. Neighbourhood was a little seedy.
