Hotel Van Belle

The hotel was very nice very clean and everyone was very helpful

I was worried after reading previous reviews about the area and people getting mugged but I felt none of this fear on arrival, hotel was a good walk into the main centre through a Muslim area but I didn’t feel any fear of attack, don’t let previous reviews on this sway you as the area is totally fine!

We had a wonderful stay although some people were giving bad feedback about the neighbourhood, we didn't have any problems at all even when arriving at night time. On the contrary, everyone in the shops next to the hotel was super nice and helpful. There's a Marocain bakery just in front of the hotel that has these super delicious sandwiches and the fresh pastries are to die for, not to mention the very welcoming big smiles from the people there. The room was very comfortable and quiet with very big bed, we slept very well. Although a kettle and a mini fridge would have been nice in the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. In general, we liked very much the vibe in the hotel. Behind the reception there's the bar where we found ourselves, a lot of times, enjoying some drinks at very correct prices.

The room was comfortable and I had got good view on trees from quiet side of the building, not to the noisy street. Breakfast was very good -everything what is necessary for morning meal. Very tasty coffee. From the first sight the location seemed to be not very good, but after I've learnt that metro station is not very far from the Hotel.

Once more I have to emphasis that Van Belle is very nice, quiet and comfortable place to stay. Probably the carpet floors in the rooms are somehow not very hygienic (though vacuum cleaning is conducted every day). This is the only my 'contra' note - all others are 'pro'.

Lovely hotel, clean & modern. Staff were pleasant and the location was good. Rooms catered for our needs. No coffee making facilities in the rooms but the bar downstairs does lovely coffees for reasonable price. The bar in the hotel is not always open and does not serve food beyond continental breakfast. The immediate surroundings of the hotel are not designed for tourist families. The restaurants & shops cater for locals and they do great kebabs & falafel, just not suitable for families with children who want a sit down meal. The 51 & 82 tram run from a stop about 8 minute walk away which brings you to the centre of Brussels. Taxi ride for 4 people to Grand Place is between €9-€12.

The hotel is clean, including the room and bathroom. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful, with extra freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff is friendly. Staff Plus: We received our room very early without any extra charge, thank you!

The bed was a bit soft, not the most comfortable for me. The soundproofing is weak, and the toiletries provided in the bathroom are quite minimal. Staff Minus: they don't assist with special requests always well. We booked a room with breakfast included but for early checkout they couldn't provide a cold breakfast package as requested.

Extremely high standard of hotel room, in a place in Brussels extremely good for the Eurostar train station. The room was very swish and everything was of high quality. The check in was possible to do very late, I think around the clock was possible. The staff were very professional. The day of checkout, they let me use the common room facility and wifi for plenty of further time, that was generous. Also the breakfast buffet was extremely popular and well organised. The staff were kind and understanding of issues for me.

It would be nice if there was a kettle or hot drinking water available in the rooms. at the time of booking I understood breakfast to be included in the price, but I found out on arrival it was not, the hotel were kind in correcting for this. basically the standard of the hotel is extremely high and the cost of this hotel room on it's own is fair.

secure parking. very pleasant room with nice outlook. good bathroom. spacious accommodation. nice breakfast. nice staff. fair location - straight forward walk into the Centre. blinds were a welcome feature. Shower was powerful. Didn't hear ANY noise from other rooms/corridor.

struggled to find any staff on arrival. room was very hot (but the fan helped). housekeeping took our towels when they serviced the room but didn't replace them - Reception only had access to hand towels! Expensive parking charge. Safe failed to open when we were ready to depart.

I liked how modern the building was on the inside, and how spacious the room its self was. We also really appreciated that the toilet and shower were separate from each other and still in our room. Finally there was ample amount of plug sockets which when you’re travelling with girls is needed for getting ready with.

I didn’t like how there wasn’t a facility to make warm drinks inside your hotel room, such as a kettle in the room. The room was unbearably hot on a night time and although they provided a fan it didn’t help the matter much.

Staff were very friendly and very helpful, always ready to find the best solutions to any questions we had. We had a Double Deluxe room with bathroom and it was very comfy. A good bed, a nice shower and overall just a perfect room to use as a home base while exploring the city. The bar downstairs is a nice bonus to have a few drinks, good ambience, nice choice of music :)

We were allowed to have our room early by the very friendly staff. Both English and French spoken but strangely enough, no Dutch. The Hotel is spotlessly clean and smart. Good size room and nice bathroom. Good shower. Walking distance to the centre. The Mediterranean and Muslim eateries. shops and takeaways are amazing with superb food and friendly locals. Traveled there by van with parking in the side streets. Very close to two micro breweries. Very good value.

Only Jupiler beers available in the vending machine in the lobby ;-)
