ibis Lausanne Centre

The location is at the upper level of the town with easy access to the historic areas. There is also a funicular rail locally which goes down through the town to the lake. Dining and bars are really good with a fine selection to suit all tastes.

One problem (which was quickly resolved) was that the car parking is in the basement with the hotel reception at level 1. It wasnt working so we had to haul cases up a flight of stairs. Compounded by our room being on level 4! Staff were pretty unhappy to help us haul the cases uo 4 flights of stairs.

Firstly I would love to start with the staffs. They were such an amazing group of people. Overall my favorites were the guys (bartenders) at the bar, they have good sense of humor and can make you feel at home, meaning they are open for conversation if they aren't busy with the other guests at the hotel. HERE'S A RATING: Staffs: 10/10 Breakfast: 9/10 Environment: 10/10 (really quiet and comfortable) Cleanliness: 10/10 Infrastructure: 10/10 City: 8/10 (well I was there just to have some holiday fun, I'm 20 years old by the way) I would totally recommend this hotel :) Oh... one more thing, you receive a free transportation from the hotel for the city during your stay.

The only problem I had was the room that I was expecting, which I saw when I was booking, wasn't the room I got at the hotel. Don't get me wrong, the room I got was also good, maybe a 8/10 but I would've prefer the other one.

room - perfectly adequate, was light and airy, quiet and not too hot, and was kept clean. The staff were very helpful and keen to make our stay a happy one. Location - it was perfect for our needs. Close to restaurants and cafes, the rail station was easily found 10-15 minutes walk, as was the metro. Lausanne is on the side of mountain and walking can be strenuous, but Bus routes run close to the hotel. Breakfast - the continental breakfast was more than adequate with a good selection of cereals/toast/ meats cheese/yogurt/scrambles egg/fruit juice and coffee. Fresh fruit was always available. There is small cafe onsite serving tea and coffee and beer all day. It also serves light meals in the evening, which we did not try. It very easy to order in a takeout meal to eat in our room (UberEats/Deliveroo etc)

I can't think of anything we didn't like.

Ibis provides transportation tickets valid for the duration of the stay at the hotel. It includes all buses, all metros and trains. Trains are free for a certain distance from Lausanne. The staff at Ibis was extremely welcoming, one of the better check-ins I've had. The room is small and comfortable, quite pricy but I guess that's just Switzerland.

Don't buy any drinks at Ibis Hotel. They sell the liter of Evian water at 7 swiss francs (roughly 7 euros). If you go to any super market in Lausanne (Coop for example) you can find the same bottle of water at around 1 Euro. I understand they're a business but that's just daylight robbery.

Covid restrictions made it difficult to relax and enjoy breakfast, as large disposable plastic gloves had to be put on in order to serve food. Coffee from machine was so-so. Food itself was good quality. Staff did what they could to make it pleasant. The rooms are quite small and a little dated, the classic Ibis style of maybe 20 years ago. Clean and serviceable, though. The shared lounge, reception and breakfast area makes the place feel safe and like there are people around most of the time. Small issue with shower in room flooding was fixed very promptly.

Rather annoying I could not expense cafe items to my room, so had to pay each time (a lot of lines on the expense report that could have been avoided). Was told it was because I was not an Ibis member, but no indication of how I could become one.

Very friendy stuff. The room was pleasant, with a nice bathroom fully equipped. I didn’t like the fact that there was not a window. Very comfortable bed. The lounge area was very nice, with a bar, couches and a table football. The place around the hotel is very nice with many shops, restaurants and bars. Just minutes walk from the historical centre.

Although the price is ok for Switzerland, it is still high for one person.

The staff were extremely helpful, they were more than happy to help with any query we had and were so friendly. Our room was spotlessly clean.

The location was perfect for us ,however at night there was alot of guys hanging around on street corners ,we didn't see any trouble but I don't know if I'd like to walk around there too late at night.

Close to town, bus outside, early check in.

Reception area is not welcoming at all (actually there is no proper desk, thankfully the staff were nice. (when eventually arrived). We were booked for 3 people but only 2 large towels (no hand towels at all) 2 cups etc. So annoying, but just helped myself to stuff on a cleaning trolley in the hallway. oh and only tea, no coffee in the room.

The location is perfect for exploring the old town of Lausanne in walking distance. The staff are incredibly friendly and amazing. They freely even excitedly offered suggestions for dining and attractions. The room is pretty spatial and clean. Breakfast is great with a diversity of food. Definitely will stay there again. Lovely hotel and staff.

Great location! Centrally located. Near lots of shops and restaurants. Near bus stops and a few mins walk from the Metro. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The cleaning staff did an excellent job with our rooms everyday.

I travelled with my children; it would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room.
