Aquatis Hotel

Very good location, the subway station is under the hotel, but the place is quiet. We received tickets for a public transport at the reception and adapters for electric plugs. The hotel has beautiful fountain, you can enjoy the meal sitting on th terrace. The stuff is nice. Room has a standard level with comfortable beds and bathroom.

No fridge in a room, but thanks to the stuff it was a possibility to keep my non milk cheese in a restaurant's refrigerator. The price of the hotel is overestimated. Comparing to the French or German hotels, the standard is the same, but a price in Switzerland is double.

Nice place in Lausanne, just next to the highway. To get to the city center, there is the metro station just 1 minute away from the hotel and it will get you to the city center in 10 minutes, which is very convenient, The place is pretty new.

The outside parking for one car cost 18 CHF per day, for hotel guests it could be free/ cheaper concerning the hotel is situated far away from the city center. Also there is no small fridge/tea/coffee in the room available, which is usually in the 4 star hotel. Breakfasts were good, but nothing special and everyday the same.

It's overall a good hotel, nice rooms, nice views and the metro underneath makes sure you can be all over the city in no time. But the thing with hotels is: when the shower sucks, everything sucks. We had 2 rooms and both had the same issue: the shower-head kept gliding down. We complained about it and they said they would fix it, they didn't. So, you pay a royal amount of money for a not functioning shower. The pillows are also ready for replacement, my neck was aching all 3 days i woke up there. Big thumps up for the staff, friendly and professional. With some really small investments this review would have been really positive: new pillows, new showerclamps. This aint what i'm used to with 4 star-hotels.

It was clean and modern. Responsive to noise complaints. Nice aquatic decor without being cutesy.

Hard to find. Not responsive to requests to send metro pass or schedule pickup ahead of arrival meaning we were left on our own to find transport to a hotel that was not easy to find the entrance to. Restaurant had limited menu and preferred reservations. That’s not accommodating to travelers. Was told at checkin that breakfast was included only to get downstairs early enough for breakfast to find out it was not. Very little information in any language besides French. Would not allow us to cancel night when someone in our party was injured/sick.

1. Room: Very modern and spacious with all the facilities including a small safe. The bathroom was clean and nice the way we preferred. The downside was the ventilation in the room. 2. Staff: The best part of the hotel. The lady who checked us in was extremely helpful and pleasant and greeted us with a smile every time we went to the reception. Explained things about the city and facilities and went through a proper check in. 3. Location: Fairly on outskirts of the city but we didn't mind as we drove in. Parking was CHF18 per night and you can park at the basement and access the hotel using the lifts

1. Room: The AC was blowing warm air despite it being a warm day and stopped working completely in the middle of the night which meant we had to open windows and listen to traffic noises on the motorway on the side. 2. Breakfast: Needs improvement especially if you're charging CHF22 per head for a full breakfast. The coffee was bland and my wife who's a vegan with gluten allergies didn't have options for breakfast apart from the fruit salads. Some fresh tomatoes and veg (not fried) with salad would have been better to make it inclusive.

Despite being outside the city center, there is a metro station literally at the door, and the staff provided metro tickets for the full stay (arrival and departure days included) at the check in, for all guests. A small gesture that goes a long way. The room was big and clean, the breakfast was very good and very diverse. The hotel is in very good condition, without signs of wear and tear.

The bar service was a bit shy. I tried to enjoy a gin and there was little brand variety, and only served with tonic.

Very nice and modern hotel, not too far form the centre, and right above the Metro Station Vennes. The personnel at reception and at the breakfast area were very pleasant and eager to help. The room is modern and designed well, mine had a window facing the mountains and the lake, so a bonus of a beautiful view. The breakfast is very good as well. I can't comment on the fitness room/spa as I haven't used them. The hotel is spotless clean.

MINOR POINTS! It would be nice to have a coffee machine/tea kettle in the room. The "queen bed" is essentially two twin beds pulled together, and it's time hotels skipped this old fashioned way. The pillows were too soft.

Hotel is out of the city but very practical. We went by car, parked in the underground garage (discounted price) and used the free subway card to ride into the city. Subway station is underneath the parking (P+R Vennes), and in about 20' we were at Lausanne-Ouchy. Entrance to the Aquarium just opposite the hotel reception. Staff was friendly, rooms were modern and clean, breakfast had a fair variety of choices.

We liked the hotel very much and had a pleasant stay. Would not rate it a 4-star, though. There was no minibar in the room, safe was super small - no space for a tablet, for instance -, no room service, the main restaurant was not operating and there was only a self-service selection available until 9:00 pm. Nothing that would prevent us though from staying there again.

The breakfast was great. Most Swiss breakfasts do not include hot dishes, they usually are continental breakfasts. However, the Aquatis offered a few hot dishes and I was extremely pleased. We also loved the free publuc transportation ticket. My partner who is Swiss was glad he was able to tour the city, drink, and not have to worry about the car. He felt that was the biggest bonus given the Aquatis Hotel is located above a subway station.

We didn't have air conditioning. The warm was a little warm. We had to open the window for it to cool off. Approximately an hour after the window was open, the room temperature was bearable.

The location is great, parking at the door and the FREE to guests metro (because you pay city tax) is almost under the hotel. Seriously you walk to the metro and are Straight to the middle of Lausanne or the train station in perhaps 10mins of air conditioning. the lake is about 12-15mins. Btw Lausanne is no longer car friendly, parking is hard to find and pricey plus the train station car park is CLOSED. So this hotel works brilliantly for me. As it is a new hotel everything works and polished clean. Plus the rooms have aircon ! if you have kids the Aquarium is 15 seconds from the hotel door.
