Mercure Hotel Bedfordview

it is directly opposite the East Gate Mall, which made it a perfect location for me. i needed to do some shopping and it was ideal. just a walk across and you are in the mall. Accessible to shops/ banking/ food outlet (halal options).

I ordered a taxi via the Mercure, disappointed to see that the driver was not given my flight details. No phone number was communicated to either of us. Ended up taking a taxi from the airport (approved taxi). not a complain as i had an alternative option, just annoyed to arrive at the hotel and to find out the driver was waiting for me at the airport. something the hotel could do better, was to give all the information that i had on my reservation with regards to the time of arrival and flight details, this could have helped. and exchanged with me the drivers details so I could be in contact directly with him upon arrival.

The hotel was perfect, everyone was super polite and it was just across from a famous shopping mall.

Although it was nice of the staff to tidy stuff in the room during cleaning, I don't enjoy someone moving my things around as I have them where I want them to be, plus they didn't recognise one of my bags being a trash bag and they put stuff away in it, so I had to go through all my garbage, food leftovers included, to see what they've put inside in order to not lose any of my stuff in the process. So please don't make significant changes to the way people have scattered their stuff in the room.

I loved the rooms and the location. The space to chill and relax was perfect. I will definately recommend it to my friend and family and I will book again in the future. Nice space for holidays. Even my kind had their nice times.

The towel part I did not like since I am the one who requested them because they were not in the rooms. And when I was requesting I was told that the lady who must deliver the towels is nocking off. But I end up getting them thanks.

I've stayed here twice now. The staff were amazing, very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I had an issue with the first room i was given and they changed it immediately. Its located directly opposite the mall so convenient for shopping. Its got a kitchenette so you can cook for yourself if you want.

There were no pots or pans in my room, they brought some the morning i was leaving though. The breakfast is ok and it would be good have some more variety.

The room I stayed was pretty big and there was everything I may need except pots, as there is a stove, that you can't use. Breakfast is very good, so you can feed yourself quick. At the winter time the room is not as warm as you may need. The carpets could be cleaner

The rooms were very spacious, clean and neat. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The aircons were very disruptive and loud. It literally sounded like an industrial machine was in the room. Although the aircon was on and the temperature was set to cool, it kept reverting back to a higher temperature. Unfortunately, it was absolutely hot and the aircon made it worse. Felt like I was in a furnace.

The room size for a family was great—location vis-a-vis the airport and easy access to the shopping mall. It was easily accessible by taxi and easy to get a cab around Joburg.

The carpet in the living was not clean! Utensils were not adequate - cooking pots and pans weren't there. There were fewer than three drinking glasses and cereal bowls.

Clean and comfortable. Daily room service by friendly staff. Room fully equipped with utensils. Had shade parking which was a bonus. Hotel close to mall and family.

Other hotel guest disrespectful making noises at all hours, banging doors and shouting. Not the hotels fault. TV channel quality could be improved. Smoke detector would go off after load shedding. Nothing the hotel could do to fix it .

Location was central to where I needed to travel to. Room had all I needed

Cleaning staff was not trained properly. A door sign is provided by the hotel to help clients inform staff whether you are sleeping or exploring. They assume that a sign on the door automatically means that you are still in the room and then do not clean, even when the sign reads "Gone exploring"

The rooms were very large and comfortable and the location is great

The rooms/apartments are equipped for self catering with a 4 plate hob and microwave but absolutely no cooking pots, pans or utensils. We did order some from reception but had to phone 3 or 4 times before anything was delivered by housekeeping. We misplaced the card to get into the room one day and the young lady on reception was rather rude to my husband when he went to request a replacement card.
