Location, very friendly staff, good food, a hospitable place

The noise on the hallway from other residents regardless of what time it is. Even worse there are echoes in the hallways even from closing doors. They will wake you at wee hours of the morning with their noise. Housekeeping staff also need to tone down their voices when working.

The people in the front desk was very helpful and friendly. The location is good. Room relatively small if more than 2 are in the room but good for 1 person. Nice comfortable bed

The breakfast for the first day was very disappointing as you don’t get what you asked for, no butter, no jam and even no egg. There is also not so much choices for breakfast. So not value for money. Pillows cases in the room are dirty, you can see stains on all pillows which is not very inviting especially when you know you are going to sleep on it. First night the room was next to the emergency exit. Lot of noises and make it very uncomfortable to sleep. I then requested a change which was accommodated. So I had better experience the 2nd night.

The hotel is perfect, in terms of value for money. Quite secure and perfect location to easily access other places. The rooms and the linen are usually fresh and clean. Beautiful bar and restaurant too.

Some Staff members, can be very aloof and distracted. They seem to have good business, so some staff just behave like they don't care losing one client for a night. I had a nightmare dealing a few of them.

there was water running to the passage each time i showered. i think the shower door needs attention. i was staying at Apartment 402

Modern finishes, hotel smells amazing, everything is clean, sockets work well, staff is very responsive to requests, the hourly shuttle is very convenient, it is near the mall, daily housekeeping. The property facilities are just amazing.

The fridge wasn’t working properly. Some of my food went bad but besides that everything was great.

Location, size of apartments, modern

Air-conditioning did not work in one of the apartments and no attempt was made to fix it in the 6 nights we stayed at the hotel. Water pressure was low.

The hotel is really beautiful and modern, the staff is so welcoming and energetic. I also enjoyed the breakfast it was well presented and filling. I would definitely stay here again.

I would like to suggest that they be more thorough when cleaning. Although the place was relatively clean, some places here and there were missed. E.g the carpet and couch in my room had food crumbs, the information booklet in the room had stains on it and when I went for breakfast, the table had not been cleaned and I had to request for them to wipe it. These are however all minor things that can be fixed.

Nice location (Sandton) and I liked the possibility of getting all meals there (from breakfast to dinner). Also, well connected to Sandton City with a complementary transfer every hour! The staff was very nice!

No window in the bathroom (and no aeration system too). But it’s a minor downside.

Clean rooms, excellent food

Mior point for improvement: Lights in the room were not card dependent, so lights were always left on by housekeeping when I returned back. Waste of energy.

Everything was just amazing. The staff was very friendly from the security to the front desk and cleaning staff. Everyone there was always ready and willing to help. The rooms were very clean and all my requests were met. This is my new favorite hotel in Joburg. The pictures on the website do not do justice to just how beautiful The Catalyst hotel rooms and apartments are.

There was nothing to dislike. Everything was just perfect.
