voco Johannesburg Rosebank an IHG Hotel

This hotel has a great location with easy access to the Rosebank Mall and surrounding restaurants and shops, making it a safe bet for walking around. They also provided us with a golf shuttle in the evening to take us to another location in the immediate area safely with a staff member, which we thought was exceptional service. Restaurant and bar area have a great vibe and energy with a good menu and great food. It's fun and trendy and stylish. The hotel also has a brilliant gym area ( a nice surprise as it big and well laid out) and a deck for outside fitness/ yoga with a lovely view. The service provided by all the staff throughout the hotel is superb - efficient and friendly - the staff really made our stay exceptional and we were actually rather sad to say good-bye.

There are not a lot of plug points near a mirror - so its a little awkward for using a hair dryer/ hair tongs (at least in our room). They do provide a small portable mirror but it would be easier if there was a mirror accessible to a plug point. But overall our room and experience was amazing. The facilities overall and staff are exceptional so this is a minor detail - the hotel would be a go-to option definitely for us for future visits.

The rooms are exceptionally beautiful, luxurious and spacious. Everything is well thought of...there's everything you can think of and more! They even have a portable steaming iron in the room - Very thoughtful. The services were 5 star and very quick to act on your request. They park the car for you and give you a WhatsApp number to text whenever you need the cat and they'll bring it for you at the entrance. You have Proud Mary restaurant for your meals and drinks...even breakfast is served at the restaurant with plenty of delicious options to choose from! Their room mini bar is packed with all the spirits (vodkas, gins and whiskys)

We travel quite often, and this hotel had some of the best customer service we have ever experienced. It started the day I booked the room. They immediately emailed us and asked if we had transportation from the airport when we arrived or had any special occasions or request. I let them know this was a birthday trip for my husband and had them arrange the transfers for us. When we arrived there was a cake and champagne waiting for us. The beds were comfortable, large room with a small sitting area. We did not use minibar, so I don't know what was there. The front desk booked our tour and it was cheaper than what you could reserve online. The food in the restaurant was amazing. Food is so reasonably priced. They had transfers arranged for when we left. Everything went super smoothly.

Beds were on the small side, and it was hard to cool the room down to what was comfortable to us. We did not request help, so it could have been user error.

You can't top the location to be in the middle of the buzz at Rosebank. Lovely to be able to walk to and from dinner and drinks in the evening at so many great venues (including the amazing Proud Mary downstairs). The whole place is fresh and very slick. Loved the original art everywhere including in the rooms and bathrooms. Great vibe and felt conpletely safe with key card access to electors and each floor.

Being in the hustle and bustle means there was noise from the street even up at 6th floor in the night. The room was compact but so well designed it didn't matter.

The Proud Mary restaurant that is part of the hotel was an excellent locale for both dinner and breakfast every day. Delicious meals and great service! We also enjoyed working out in the uber stylish gym that almost felt like we were out at the club as it was all done up with black walls and cool lighting. Can't beat the location as it's so close to the Rosebank Mall and its Sunday market. Will definitely be our go to choice for where to stay in Joburg going forward!

The location in Rosebank makes this hotel the only choice when staying in Johannesburg. The hotel has lovely doormen one of whom even drove us in the golf buggy to nearby Marble restaurant to ensure our safety. The room we stayed in had a seperate sitting area which was made up into a bed for our daughter, it had its own tv so she could relax with room service instead of coming out with us. The room is large with a seperate toilet from the walk in shower, great when 3 people getting ready in the morning. The room has a Nespresso machine which is always welcome! The breakfast included in our rate at the fabulous Proud Mary was perfect as it was a la carte for the main course with some juice, pastries and fruits to help yourself to. Could not fault Voco, location, the friendly and helpful staff and the freshness of the decor all made for a great nights in this city.

The location was fantastic, I loved the restaurant downstairs and the mix between being able to meet colleagues for drinks or to sit down to a delicious meal. The staff were incredibly helpful, the room services was unusually good.

The lift broke down on one of the days and I struggled to get up to my room for 20 minutes, delaying one of my meetings. I appreciated the access to the workspace upstairs but there were limited power points, which made it difficult to work for extended periods.

I liked everything about my stay, the staff were superb from checkin to checkout (they even went as far as to arranging a nail file to us). Rooms were quite big and very comfy, we had two amazing nights there. The location is not exactly central, but we felt very safe, it is a very nice neighbourhood (there is a Starbucks right across the street, a nice mall next door and many restaurants nearby). Breakfast (to be quite honest) wasn't really great, but they do offer a great and fancy variety of dishes. The highlight of the hotel's facilities though, is the gym. The gym is ridiculously big, there is a floor (yes, a floor) of strengthening (with a rowing machine, air bike, kettlebells, benches, dumbbells, etc), a floor for cardio (with a couple of treadmills, bikes, etc) and a stretching floor (basically a large balcony, not a big deal, but come on, they offer three floors of gym). Also the gym is 24/7 opened. Overall, great great great hotel.

I honestly did not appreciate the system to enter the elevator, I thought it was quite unnecessary and too bureaucratic to swipe the card to get to the elevator and then to swipe again choosing the floor of your room. We were in a larger party in different floors so getting to each others' rooms was more troublesome than it should have been. Other than that, they are amazing!

The area is super trendy and it’s so central to all things great in Rosebank. Really appreciated the room upgrade, the clean room and immaculate linen. Staff were really great as well! The minibar was stocked and although not complimentary, was a nice touch. It was also a treat to eat at Proud Mary everyday for breakfast.

The drive in situation was a bit stressful but thankfully valet sorted us out. Another downer is that Parking costs R100 a night.
