The Clipper Hotel

it feels quiet despite being in a lively location. the vibe of the lobby and room is retro and the room is spacious. the bed and pillows are firm and cozy. there's an electric kettle, fridge, and microwave in case you need to use. the staff are the best. always willing to assist. hotel is near many convenience stores and restaurants. two malls are nearby and may take a 10 to 20 minute car ride depending on traffic. hasslefree check in and check out. the hotel managed to feel like an obscure oasis in an area known for being too robust. i just love how quiet and secluded it is. people should try the 50s diner restaurant near the place to complete the retro experience.

toilet's lack of bidet and shower is replaced with a pail and dipper. the water is always hot. the microwave is awkwardly placed on the table so there's little space for eating. lack of elevator is no problem but if you have lots of luggage it might be. but again, staff are more than willing to help and assist for these minor inconveniences. overall, the experience was still good but i have to note these.

Good AC. Fridge inside the room. Bars and entertainment spots in walikg distance. Beds are spacious and comfy. Ample rooms with a high ceiling (which i like against the new fancy hotel rooms which are tiny space and low ceiling). I like their historic relationship to the nearby AyalaTriangle, which was the runway of former Manila Airport, in the 1930-ies.

Water pressure / water availability is an issue in the shower. 2nd + 3rd floor : no escalator nor lift.

The ambiance!!! The architecture and theme of The Clipper House takes you back to the Pan American Clipper Service when long distance air travel was an adventure!! This place has the living, breathing heyday of the 1930s and 40s!!! I don’t think you’ll find another place like this!!! The staff are wonderful!! Kudos to all!

Be patient with adjusting the water temperature in the shower. There’s hot water! No worries

Accessible, in the middle of Poblacion. Close to restaurants and bars. Lots of character - room wasnt sterile. There was a ceiling fan with light - it’s a nice add.

No slippers, lighting at night insufficient (purely mood lighting). Toilet window doesn’t fully close. Blinds still let in light, no actual cloth curtains.

Chinne and Jane is very nice very helpful all the time😊, Wifi is great fast for someone like us who like to play games online. Place are clean comfortable bed and very spacious, Location is perfect surrounded by lot of restaurants and Bars.

Location behind the bar street Burgis Str. Makati. Close to Rockwell and Ayala Taxi to airport 350 ...500 p

No lift

Very close to all the Makati night life. Very good price. Staff are very nice. The beds are huge.

Little bit noisy out side. Quite a lot of tramps and beggars out side.

Very clean, comfortable, and convenient. The staff is very kind, accommodating, and welcoming. They will sincerely try to attend to your needs to the utmost 24/7. My one month of stay was truly a pleasant one.

There is no bidet in the toilet.
