Amazing experience from check-in to check-out. Enjoyed the atmosphere, the vibe and different mediums of art strategically placed around the hotel. Clean, spacious, aesthetically appealing to the eye, stimulated the tastebuds and with every detail considered, this place is well-recommended and well-received; the only place I’ll be staying during future visits.

I loved everything about Tantalo. Located perfectly in Casco Viejo, the whole place filled with lovely staff feels like an art gallery... The lobby, rooms, rooftop, even the stairway is filled with colorful gorgeous artwork - just like I have at home. Our bed & bedding was so comfortable I actually didn't want to leave sometimes, with a gorgeous balcony, great water pressure & nice lighting. I normally don't care where I stay on my travels, as long as it's affordable safe & clean. Tantalo far exceeds those expectations & is the first hotel that I've actually loved & been excited about. I can't wait to go back! Each room is unique & has a different theme, I'm thinking I need to try each one!

The AC panel on the wall was tricky to figure out sometimes, & didn't always kick on immediately. Very minor criticism since everything else was so amazing

I loved everything about this hotel. The room was super spacious and the bathroom was well lit. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were so plush. The people at the front desk were super kind, welcoming and were there at any time of the day ready to assist. The rooftop bar is a party spot on the weekend so the hotel is loud all around with people coming and going. This was fine for us but the hotel provided ear plugs for those sensitive sleepers. When we checked in, we were also given 2 drink tickets which we immediately used at the rooftop. We checked out of the hotel bc we were going to Bocas for the next few days. Since we were only taking our backpacks, I appreciated that the hotel was willing to hold our luggage until we got back. The hotel is super central and near some great restaurants and bars. Absolutely recommend for future guests!

art-deco was amazing, spacious room, balcony on two sides specially in room no5 . Very interesting lobby combo bar and dining. awesome fake aquarium room but it looked real, I thought it was real sea aquarium it just blew my mind. rooftop bar opens at 15:00pm breezy and nice with a panorama view.

well I knew it before hand it will be loud because of the rooftop bar, but that did not bother me. it was the people outside standing around they was louder then the Rooftop bar. Bath room could have been a little bigger. also you real can not put toilet paper in the toilet bowl. I learned the hard way but they could have put a toilet plunger in the bathroom, I felt embarrassed asking they to clean up my toilet bowl. other then that it was good.

This is really an artistic gem in Casco Viejo (Panama's Old Town). The town itself is amazing with lots of rooftop bars and nice colonial buildings! The rooftop bar is beautiful with great views on both old and new Panama! Free welcome drink! The room we had was very spacious with nice decoration and wall paintings! We had 3 lovely balconies on each side! The restaurant and lobby are also very beautiful and trendy atmosphere.

- We felt the staff was a bit pushy about selling drinks and food (both in the restaurant downstairs and in the rooftop bar). Our drink in the bar upstairs was not even finished and they already came to take a new order... A bit sad... For the rest great a great hotel and experience.

The location is perfect if you are looking to walk around old town / Casco Viejo. Close to all the bars, restaurants and clubs in the area. However, you MUST be okay with very load music playing until 4am Thursday-Sunday when the rooftop bar is open as well as the restaurant downstairs. When I say loud, I mean able to hear it with earplugs in. Also, the taxis and street noise are almost worse as they go all night long and don’t mind being rude and laying on the horn for a minute straight at 4:30 am. Nothing the hotel can do about that, it is just a symptom of the location. We met one of the owners and he was extremely welcoming and discussed all the amazing artwork throughout the hotel. It was an magical place to stay. Would definitely stay here again.

The only complaint we have about this place was the service at the downstairs/lobby bar. We sat down for coffee and breakfast and would often sit and be ignored for 10-15 minutes while the person behind the bar went about their business. The place was virtually empty with one other table. We finally asked to order some coffee and the person proceeded to fiddle around with things like folding napkins for another 5 minutes before making our coffees. We had to ask to order food as well, which took a very long time to get. Not sure if this is typical but we did get slow service another time when we were trying to get off to the airport. We are by no means high maintenance or people who rush or need the fastest service, but being completely ignored was more the issue.

Tantalo is a very cool hotel! It is centrally located in Old Town so there is so much do to just outside of the hotel - really safe, great neighborhood. The hotel itself has a rooftop bar and restaurant and lobby restaurant and bar. Our room was huge and comfy with a neat balcony and everything we needed.

Nothing - I think this a great place if you just have a day or two in Panama City - the location is AMAZING and the hotel is really nice - the value is also incredible. With breakfast included in the price, it is a great deal for what you get!

Beautiful unique little boutique hotel in the heart of Viejo, "Old Panama". The staff was wonderful and welcoming, took us all the way into our room and showed us everything we needed. The room was clean, the bed was super comfortable and there was air conditioning. The rooftop patio had spectacular views and the food and drinks there were DELICIOUS and reasonably priced. Easy walking access to shops, restaurants and lots of sight seeing. We had a tour the morning we checked out and they held our suitcases for us until we got back (after checkout).

Our only complaint, like most others say, is the noise. The area has a vibrant nightlife and the rooftop patio is bumping with a DJ until 2am. Honestly, with the fan in the room on, the earplugs they give you at the front desk and a couple drinks and it's not too bad. The super comfortable bed helps, too.

- Very noisy in the evenings/night due to the rooftop bar, but the hotel does provide ear plugs (lol) - When we asked about parking, they told us it costs $20/day and drove our car to a parking lot for us. However, we later discovered that street parking is free (not on yellow lines tho!)

My husband and I had a one-night layover in Panama City on our way home for our 15-year anniversary trip. Tantalo was perfect for our stay. We were greeted with welcome drinks on arrival. Since we arrived before our check-in time, we were able to store our luggage, eat a delicious lunch at the hotel restaurant, and then explore Casco Viejo. After checking in and freshening up, we went downtown for dinner and a little shopping. Came back and went upstairs to party at the rooftop. Loved the decor, the vibe and the staff! It really was a lovely stay!!
