Great location and great value for money. Friendly and helpful personnel. Good food

The hotel is a bit outdated. It is a nice hotel and would definitely deserve some improvements - like renewed or new furniture (in our room - a very nice big room - there was an armchair which looked so used I did not want to touch). The dust in the room was a problem for us. We liked the food for breakfast and dinner. The only problem - I saw a cockroach climbing our table.

Our room was spacious and views were towards seaside (although we saw parking lot for the buses, still it was possible to see further away, little bit Opera House and cruise ship). Hotel has very good breakfast, I especially liked soft cheeses and pancakes. Hotel also offers complimentary buffet dinner. During dinner they offer soup (I didn’t like them and prefered other dishes), one meat dish and different options for salads, also bread. Saturday evening there where more options for dinner (meat, fish, more vegetables). Also they offer sweets between 3pm-5pm, but unfortunately we were exploring the city during these times. Coffe, tea and hot chcolate maschine alwasy ready for you in the lobby, for free. Eating out in Oslo might be quite pricey, so food options the hotel is offering are great way to enjoy Oslo in a budget. Staff were friendly, even let us to eat in the first evening just before the kitchen was closed (9pm), so thank you for that. We also used hotel’s sauna, small and functional place, there weren’t other people in the sauna (some people were in the gym next to sauna). So if you get a cold rain in Oslo, you know that you have possibility to get warm in the hotel. Location is very close to central station and all the main streets and harbour are within walking distance.

Before and after staying in the hotel and during staying in the hotel I received 11 e-mails/messages from hotel via Booking.com (about check-in, check-out process etc). That’s too much information! Everytime I got an message I was scraed that maybe my booking is cancelled or why I again receive a message. Another dislike – we had room booked for 2 adults and 1 child (7yo). But in the room we had towels only for 2 persons. More towels are better, always.

Breakfast and evening meal were included in the booking and it exceeded our expectations. The food was lovely there was plenty of it. The location of the hotel is central and it is an easy walk to Oslo central train station. Staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean.

I booked a double superior room for myself, husband and 3 year old son. Even though we had three people on the booking we were only given 1 double bed. We were offered another bed for the little one for an additional cost. We declined this offer. When we arrived the 1 double bed was HUGE !! So it all worked out OK with 3 of us in the bed.

The Clarion was a nice surprise - we opted for a place that served breakfast buffet and dinner for our stay and touring of Oslo. It is a great location - just 10 minute walk from the Oslo central train station and a block off Oslo Harbor. Easy walking distance to ferries and trams taking you around the harbor and city. There were many choices at breakfast and dinner with labeled items for gluten free, lactose free and vegan. Many options and while the place was full, the staff cleaned and turned the tables quickly so you always had a place to sit and eat your meals. There were also juice machines and coffee drink machines and a variety of teas. For additional costs, you could purchase ice cream bars and other frozen treats plus candy as dessert was not served at dinner time. There is also a "Fika" snack time in the mid afternoon that is also included. A piece of cake and coffee/tea is offered. The beds were comfortable and if you want your room cleaned you need to request it the night before. We also appreciated the black out curtains as the sun rises early in the summer and stays out a long time.

Would have appreciated more bathroom amenities as there was only soap for body wash. The mini refrigerator in the room didn't seem to be working and we opened the window for fresh air as the room was stuffy. That let in some noise from the street and the doors to rooms are heavy and slam shut when people leave for the elevator.

The hotel absolutely met my expectations. The location is just excellent : very close to Oslo S., Opera house, ferry and other central attractions. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Half board is highly recommended, since Oslo is quite an expensive city, The breakfast was very good with decent choice of options and dinner was quite substantial (with different menu for every weekday). They also have coffee and tea available throughout a day in a lobby + afternoon biscuits from 15 to 17.

Nothing. I liked everything. We were not aware that cleaning services have to be ordered in Scandinavia. So please ask to clean your room if you really need it. It's free, but needs to be requested.

The breakfast selection is amazing! And that breakfast, afternoon cake and supper are included in the price makes this an incredible value. The staff, especially Arild at the front desk, were always accommodating, informative and welcoming. Arild takes the time to visit, listen to, and get to know the guests. The location is very convenient to the train station and some of the nearby attractions. I had stayed here a month earlier and was so impressed, I knew I needed to return to this gem of a hotel.

This time I wasn't as impressed with the room. It was smaller; the bathroom was smaller, and I missed the armchair/desk from the room I'd had the previous time. But it was still clean and comfortable.

This is a nice little hotel in the closest area to the main train station (station s if I'm not mistaken). Next to the opera, the Akershus fortress, the port, and the Art museum with lots and lots of Munch paintings! The staff was nice and helpful. Our reservation came with breakfast, fika (coffee with some cakes) and dinner. The basements has a gym and a sauna, those were included in the price. We left early and they prepared our final breakfast for takeaway too.

The room was really small, the bathroom was even smaller, but this is what you get here usually. Do not misunderstand me, it was super clean and fully equipped, but entering into the shower cabin needs a special maneuver. Sadly the room was not offering a fridge, so we had to find a tricky solution for cooling our drinks.

Location was amazing, all important sights were really close! During our stay the area was peaceful. Breakfast was amazing! Nothing too fancy, all the key elements were available. Scrambled eggs were amazing and they even had pancakes! The room price included dinner. Nothing too fancy, but tasty. Staff was really helpful.

The water mixer in our rooms shower was a bit funky. You had to sait a while for water to warm up, then suddenly the temperature jumped way too high. It was a bit of a puzzle to keep the temperature comfortable. But the water pressure was perfect.

Great location - with a view of the Opera House from our bedroom window. Great breakfast - lots of choice. Afternoon cake 3-5pm was a treat after sightseeing. Coffee machine in lobby is 24-7 The evening meal was great - soup, salad, breads, main (meat/fish, potatoes, veg). See photo for the menu for our week.

Small room - we had an extra bed and it wasn’t possible to walk around the beds with the 2 arm chairs in the room. We made some temporary adjustments to make it more comfortable. Tired decor in the room.

Hotel is little off the beaten path in a less busy area, but has a nice view of the water and is super close to SALT and the saunas. The room was much larger than the others we have stayed in while in scandinavia, having two comfortable chairs to sit in was appreciated after only having the bed to sit on in other rooms. The hotle dinner was a decent home cooked style meal- much appreciated after two weeks of restaurants. Breakfast was ample and had easy hours. The hotel was very comfortable and would highly recommend it!

The area around hte hotel felt alittle dingy, one street away had homeless people and people clearly using drugs.
