Carnmore Hotel Takapuna

Room was a good size, with queen bed, tv, work desk, dining table and well supplied kitchenette. The balcony was an added bonus The bathroom was a good size with everything you need, shower, toilet and a large sink and mirror. The hotel itself is a little out of the town centre, but everything is of walking distance. The beach was fairly close, a 5 minute walk.

There was nothing at all that caused us to dislike this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean and well maintained.

I liked everything! The hotel is newly renovated, modern, super clean and conveniently located! You’re steps away from the beach, boutique shops, a supermarket, restaurants. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the city center by bus, a little bit longer if you take a ferry, which I’d highly recommend. Last but not least, I’d like to say a big thank to the staff! They are very nice people, helpful and professional. Krystal and Kunwar helped me a lot! Thank you, guys! Also the manager was great. I would definitely recommend staying at the hotel.

Fantastic location and great modern rooms. Very spacious rooms, comfy beds, everything you need. Free parking. The gym could do with a slight upgrade as quite basic but all you need while on holiday. Easy walking distance to beach and takapuna shops. I was worried it might be a bit noisy from the street traffic noise but the walls and windows are super thick and couldn’t hear anything. I’m a light sleeper and it didn’t bother me at all. Had wonderful 5 nights here.

If I’m being picky, the gym could do with a slight upgrade.

We loved everything about our stay. Easy check in, staff were really nice. Room was spacious, clean and everything we needed. My son loved the pool even though it was freezing, laundry was a bonus. Walking distance to the beach. Location was perfect for me and my son. We tried to extend our stay till Sunday, but they were booked out.

The only thing I didnt like was the pillows were a bit hard for me and too high. Thankfully the bed was comfortable, it was so easy sleeping without a pillow.

Facilities included a very good spa bath, which was lovely after a journey. The swimming pool is small and was cool, but refreshing! The hotel is within a walk of the beach and local restaurants and would have been a pleasant place to spend a few days. It's north of the city and at least half an hour from the Airport.

We were "travelling light" and would have appreciated a towel for swimming. The lift seemed slow and we used the stairs instead. Everything else was fine. Had the impression that this hotel and pool suits adults more than children.

Our room exceeded our expectations, we were so happy, the bathroom was really nice & modern, the shower was huge ( as my husband isn't a small man) so it was perfect,. The beds were very comfortable, it was very handy having a fridge in the room. Lovely chairs & table in the room to & tv with Netflix & free to air channel.

The only thing we found a bit annoying, was that the internet was very slow, other than the internet, there was nothing we didn't like or enjoy about our stay at the Carnmore Hotel.

The male receptionists x 2 were extremely pleasant and helpful. I came back from getting some groceries w a very heavy bag and he offered to carry it upstairs for me. Very kind gentleman. Nice size room. I asked for a room away from the roads (traffic noise) and they accommodated my request. Handy location and I could walk down to the beach at the end of the road. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to stay in Takapuna.

We like the spacious room and bathroom and the comparatively luxurious feeling that is provided by having more space, extra furniture (writing desk, table and chairs), soft carpets and better curtains than most of the inner city hotels. Beds are good too. Very comfortable. Short walk to Takapuna beach. Very nice staff.

You are after all in a city and the busy Lake Road provides for background noise. But not a problem in our opinion.

The room was comfortable and well appointed. The shower was beautiful, and bathroom lighting was good. Beds were comfortable and once we worked out the heat pump, the room was snuggly warm too. It was lovely that Takapuna beach was close and nice to walk down there.

A heater in the bathroom would be great. The wifi was very unpredictable, and the tvnz app on the tv had to be restarted a number of times.

Everything from Check in to Check Out was exceptional , the staff were friendly and the room, Well What Can I say about that except Very Comfortable , Clean and Tidy and as for the shower was Brilliant.

Unfortunately I have a crook knee and found getting from Reception to my room slightly challenging but achievable if i allowed myself an extra 5 minutes to walk up and down the hill, certainly not a major issue.
