Hotel Greif

Got a Jr. Suite, room was incredible - huge, windows opened onto the main piazza, room had a large shower, jacuzzi, more stuff (like a yoga mat) than I've ever seen in a hotel room. The staff was extremely helpful, including with ZTLs, luggage, checking in a little early, breakfast, etc.

Parking was tight, the spaces are narrow - though they have that great red/green light system to know where a space is available. My kids had a Standard Twin room, which was more dorm-like than the beautiful jr. suite. I also overpaid for parking, having left a few times. You can apparently pay for a full day, where you leave and come back, but I didn't know that.

Room was well appointed and had a good working desk and light. The shower area was larger than usual and the glass screen actually kept all the water in the bath. Skylight window electrically operated worked well and allowed some fresh air into the room even when raining. Breakfast was excellent with the service outstanding with specialized eggs cooked, freshly squeezed juice and hot well-brewed coffee. A great selection of fruits, yoghurt and breads/cakes. Great location for old city area.

No power point near the bed to charge a mobile overnight, but excellent supply points on desk area. While only a few stairs, they had to be negotiated by lifting your suitcase (not rolled) to access the lift and also on leaving the lift to get to the rooms on the floor level.

We love this hotel. We stayed here approximately 3 weeks prior to this stay and were specifically targeting this hotel for our return visit to the Christmas market. The room was large and extremely comfortable with a view overlooking the market in Walther piazza. The beds were large and very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, well laid out, and had an amazing shower. The heating system did an excellent job of maintaining the set temperature and was never intrusive either with noise or air movement. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic! With large selections of breads, meats, and cheeses, as well as fresh fruits, cereal options, juices and made to order coffees and hot food order choices. The staff here are so friendly and welcoming without being overbearing, and were extremely helpful in providing much valued information to help us really enjoy the city. We would definitely stay here again and we highly recommend this hotel to any other travelers to Bolzano!

There was nothing we didn't like about this hotel. If anything, I would say the room was a little pricey but I still consider it a good value.

Overall a very pleasant stay. The hotel is located in the very heart of the old town, facing Bolzano Cathedral and the Christmas market. My room was clean and had a beautiful mountain view. All service was wonderful, the staff were friendly and helpful.

For the price paid I expected the room to look less worn down. No warm food at breakfast, only pastries, cheese and fruit. To reach the room I had to walk two flights of very steep stairs - elevator didn't reach the top floor. Not a problem for me personally but this should've been mentioned in advance because different people have different mobility levels.

This is a very comfortable hotel right in the middle of old town Bolzano on the Walther Square. The room was large and well laid out, the shower was amazing, and we enjoyed sitting out on the terrace to the room. The beds were very comfortable and the temperature of the room easy to control with no annoying noises. The staff was very friendly and helpful and did their best to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was bountiful and delicious. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic room with very classic things on one hand and extremly modern handling of the lights on the other hand. Impressive. Friendly staff, fantastic breakfast. Almost a pity we had to leave early so couldn't enjoy it in full. Top location (hence the price...). Public parking garage has a direct entrance to the hotel.

Would have liked to stay there a bit longer.... :) Third floor room is warm and the airco had difficulties getting it to a comfy temperature.

Wonderful hotel, everything perfect. The room was huge, the bed was super-comfortable, everything was clean and there were small attentions like a chocolate on the pillow each day, comfy slippers, etc. The staff were fantastic and attentious to small extra requests, including a fancy packed lunch/breakfast on the last morning due to early departure (too early for normal breakfast hours). The location is unbeatable and Bolzano is a nice and neat small city. Even though I went for work, I did a couple of runs along the two rivers, there are pedestrian and bicycle routes and parks everywhere.

It's a bit on the expensive side, but in line with the offered quality and facilities, especially given that a substantial buffet breakfast is included. Also in line with the market. The breakfast room and buffet were not huge but that's because the hotel itself is not huge.

Asked for a quiet room. Could not have been given a more perfect one. This is such a huge deal as most reviews don't place enough weight on quality of SLEEP! This was the only hotel from my whole trip where I didn't hear a peep the moment my door closed. I could move in if I had the money ;) Great breakfast, friendly accomodating staff. I just wish I'd had more time to avail myself if all the benefits of the place... it's so good is almost consider coming back just to stay in the hotel!!

I had a very relaxed and enjoyable stay at Hotel Grief. Their hospitality was professional, helpful and overall excellent. It was worth traveling to for one night and the stay was unquestionably worth the amount I paid for. I would certainly return to Hotel Grief for another visit! The cleanliness was overall excellent. The staff members were pleasant, helpful and approachable, always wearing a smile. The breakfast buffet held a variety of food and for my personal taste, their fresh and local cheese was very interesting and was exquisite. The location is very convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel!

The charming old but modern hotel with an unbeatable location (main square, close to train station and cable car station to Oberbozen) is probably the best place to stay in Bolzano. Old building, modern interior, huge rooms and beds, insane views (get a room with Walther Square view, worth the extra price) and the nicest staff I’ve ever encountered in a hotel (three receptionists, a breakfast server and cleaning lady, all very nice).
