Kyriad Chartres

We have stayed here many times on our way to and from Spain but were concerned as the review rating had dropped. However it was really excellent and no cause for concern. It is under new management and such a great improvement with lots more good changes to look forward to. We like the location as it’s quiet and easy to find. The price is also good and the dinner and breakfast was delicious and all good value for money. The staff were super friendly and welcoming especially Alexia in the restaurant, Philippe and of course the new Director Alexander. We shall definitely return and would highly recommend it.

There is nothing to dislike. We had a couple of light bulbs not working and they were changed immediately.

The bed and bedroom was large and comfortable. Extra pillows to hand. Dining room and bar looked good and the decor throughout was pleasant. We were very tired after many hours driving and arrived late. Claremont at the desk was helpful and kindly got us a teapot and cups for a much needed cup of tea. We also loved the fact it is pet friendly .We left feeling refreshed and will use this hotel again.

Paper cups in the room although biodegradable and planet friendly, are not great to make tea or coffee.

Large bright room. Friendly staff went out of their way to help and clear up any mishaps! Dog friendly and room large enough for us to put up their cage. Walks around the hotel for the dogs. Rooms nice and quiet.

Food and drink expensive. Sparse breakfast, tables not cleared so nowhere to sit when we arrived. Food was replaced when it ran out, e.g. the cheese ran out and no more came out. The bacon was over cooked. A pity, the breakfast let the hotel down.

Lovely hotel, good restaurant, quiet and really lovely staff. All the staff were very happy, helpful and polite. Food and drink was good, aircon in the room worked well and was not intrusive. The Hotel was clean and tidy and I have to say in twenty years of travelling through France in 'cheaper hotels' this was the best. Huge car park and there must have been over 20 Tesla chargers in the car park. Coffee in room was good, shower good and quiet all night.

Mattress was a little hard but after good food and a couple of beers I slept like a baby anyway.

The room was clean and the coffee and tea facility was appreciated. The restaurant was very enjoyable and our evening meal was very nice.

The shower leaked through the wall onto the floor/carpet next to the bed. The cleaner must have been aware of this and stopped the hand held shower from working, making it only the waterfall overhead outlet that supplied water. This made it was very difficult to use the shower for washing the body and especially washing the hair. Also the hairdryer did not work.

Large clean room, very comfortable beds, very good food, very helpful, friendly and kind staff, the lift was much appreciated to take our luggage to the third floor, quiet and well soundproofed.

Air conditioning not powerful enough for the room, shower did not drain well, broken bathroom bin lid, very noisy and squeaky door (groom needs oiling) A very nice hotel on the whole but more attention to details like these needed.

Room was clean and comfortable breakfast was excellent with great choice good coffee /tea machine staff helpful and friendly car park safe

Would be helpful to have more electrical outlets in the room by the bedside to charge phones etc soap dispenser in shower empty Not a problem as we had shower gel but if you are going to have a dispenser in the shower then it should have some soap in it

The check-in and out were really smooth. The room was nice. The breakfast was pleasant, I had a lot of love for the orange juice machine, fresh pressed every time!

The bathroom needed a little bit of love, the clasp to hold the shower head was broken, so washing hair was fun 😄 The pointing/sealant in the bathroom needs to be replaced, it was either broken/missing or mouldy

Good location. Close to the autoroute and easy drive into Chartres Room was adequate, quiet and with comfy bed. Good breakfast selection and with 2 coffee machines Watching the rabbits outside

Bathroom wash basin too far from mirror Shower unit difficult to understand Dinner experience similar to Fawlty Towers. Chaotic at times. The British and German visitors both shared communication problems with waitresses.

Philippe remembered us from previous visits with our dog Jarvis. All staff were fantastic. We had our motorhome with us and were able to park in a large space which was excellent. We will be back!
