Campanile Chartres

The rooms.were very clean and good value the staff were friendly on reception but very little English was spoken so communiction was hard as my french is limited

The food ended up vey expensive as we did not realise we could only have an entre as part of the set menu. We only wanted a light salad as it had been a really hot drive but it may have been a translation problem and. No one admitted to speaking English we paid for a two course meal and ate just bread and a slice of ham with a little garnish. Breakfast the next day was not much better so food was dearer than the room.

Very comfortable and clean hotel,perfect for a one night stop over.There was a pull out bed on the floor for our little girl.Bed was comfortable,tea and coffee facilities,and good shower.The restaurant/bar area was newly renovated.The staff were friendly and happy to accommodate.Good value hotel in good location-a short drive to Chartres,which is a beautiful town-we ended up staying there all day,longer than intended,as so much to see,and lots of nice restaurants!

The evening meal was a self service buffet-would’ve been nice to have a menu to choose alternatives.There wasn’t a great deal of choice,and food not the best,but OK.Breakfast had more choice/continental style.If we’d have had known more about what was available in Chartres,we would’ve eaten there for dinner

Very comfortable, clean and spacious room and bathroom. Very pleasant and helpful staff. I have arthritis and always ask for a ground floor room which is always provided for me plus parking. This time I did not have breakfast but I normally do and it is very good

First time during my many stays I could smell the drains in my room and the toilet was hard to flush

I was on the second floor, first time I have stayed at one with 2 floors, food was buffet style at this one, choose 1,2 or 3 courses, and I choose 2. You could go up as many times as you liked, had a selection of the desserts which was nice.

The Wi-Fi was not good and ended up using the hotspot on my phone, the worse Wi-Fi in all the hotels I stayed in.

Room was painted in a fresh green, it was small but sufficient. I liked the coffee/ tea making facility and complimentary biscuits. Breakfast and dinner with all you can eat buffets, were really great ( nice French cooking after Disneyland!) and our crew totally enjoyed them !

Carrying the grand-children's cases up the stairs LOL! Felt sorry for the lady cleaning the next morning who had to pull a huge trolley upstairs!

Easy to find on outskirts of city. Clean and welcoming, very pleasant young staff. Outside was being painted but reception area and restaurant were smart and comfortable. Comfortable twin beds, bathroom a little "tired" but excellent for overnight stay or for city visit. Dinner and breakfast both excellent value for money.

Staff all very helpful. Site convenient for ring road. Parking adjacent to room. Room comfortable with work space. Shower great with novel head design! Breakfast very good value.

No public transport link into town or local shops etc. Hot buffet option on evening menu limited when we went. Entrees and desserts good however.

Dinner was a bit over priced! Breakfast selection was good, but a selectiom of cereal or muesli should be included. The fact that eggs on offer are not cooked and the guest has to cook them themselves in a hot water bath needs an explanation instruction😁

After a long day's drive, this was a good location to unwind and chill out. Great location, very easy to get back onto the motorway. Important that it was dog friendly, very inviting, and allowed us to take the dog to the restaurant with us. All good.

All good and what we expected

Liked everything once there - lovely friendly helpful staff too. The big minus was we found it very difficult to find as we were approaching Chartres on the N154 from Dreux . couldn’t find explicit directions anywhere so took us an hour to find even when we got to the correct area
