Very helpful pleasant staff. we wanted a nice hotel that was not expensive and close to the airport due to an early flight the next morning. We also wanted complimentary shuttle/ taxi service, bar service, and to be able to eat in. The Pacific Gateway did not disappoint - they provided a taxi pickup and drop back to the airport; smooth checkin; a comfortable clean room; a very pleasant bar lady; and a good menu to select from. We were very happy to have stayed here.

The hotel website regarding the shuttle service should be updated to explain how it has been replaced by a very good complimentary Richmond Taxi service

There was no airport shuttle operating, though we were not advised of this in advance (website said there was regular shuttle service). After waiting for an hour we finally called hotel to be advised to take a taxi and we would be reimbursed.

Fairly good location to walk to the SkyTrain station.....about a good 15 minutes walk away. The hotel reimbursed taxi fare immediately and gave us a voucher for taxi returning to the airport.

The hotel is undergoing renovations which we did not know about and we didn't realise that the restaurant and bar was not open on a Monday!, the day we were using the hotel also shuttle bus service not working but we were told to use a taxi and we were reimbursed, if we had known this before via an email it would have saved us going to different areas after a long haul flight to get transportation to the hotel.

The front desk staff person, the same on check-in and check-out, was terrific: helpful, sympathetic & efficient. Room was nice with a view of the water and marina, clean and fairly well appointed. Dinner in the restaurant was fine although it would be nice to have a restaurant with some windows at such a nice waterfront location. Shuttle was done by taxi which was faster than waiting for a shuttle bus to arrive so I was pleased at that choice by the Hotel.

Restaurant needs to have a water view. Chair in the room could be better: no arms and slightly stained. Cold water would have been a nice touch in the room fridge. Breakfast was from a take-out facility so a sit down, harbour view restaurant would be nicer.

The location is convenient and easy to get in and out. The staff at the reception are very friendly and helpful. The room is of descent size. Sixt car rental is at the hotel so we should have rented the car from Sixt with free taxi between the airport and the hotel is provided by the hotel.

Due to the strike of labour, basically no service. Hence, I think the room rate should be lower.

love the accessibility of the hotel, it wasn’t very far from the Bridgeport metro station (17 mins walk). loved that there was a very easy to access gym on the 11th floor! the staff was very helpful and smiling even during the ongoing labour strike they were having. they upgraded us to a king sized room facing the water after we asked upon arrival. the hotel was very unoccupied, didn’t have any problems at all with nose coming from any other rooms.

the main restaurant was closed, it’s a pretty far walk to get to any stores/restaurants. that being said, it’s an easy Uber-taxi ride! we just grabbed everything that we might need during the day and kept it in the mini fridge in the room. and there is also a lobby bar-small restaurant-coffee shop in which you can grab something to eat, won’t be gastronomical but will do the job!

It was a real hotel with all the hotel amenities. It served us perfectly for our buffer day between arrival at YVR and the beginning of our Alaskan cruise. Great view of Fraser River! And perfectly quiet despite the proximity to a busy airport. ...And a bathtub was certainly a plus.

There were not many drawbacks. First, transportation. the hotel is poorly served by public transportation. It's pretty much a taxi ride anywhere from here. $10 minimum to get a lift to Sky Train Canada Line. There is no hotel shuttle. Another problem is the lack of on-site food options. There's nothing except a small coffee shop with limited hours..if there's no rental car, what would a poor boy do? Order some pizza from Pizza Hut. There was no microwave in the room and I believe the fridge was one of those less useful tiny ones without a freezer.

Receptionist Kayla was wonderful during the check-in process and providing the information and taking care. And the lady (May) who runs the Coffee/Bistro is a amazing and wonderful in terms of taking care of everything. I accidentally locked the door with access cards inside at around 1:30AM as I had to pick my parents from Airport but luckily she was onsite and helped with new access at that time. It was a great help! Hot chocolate she made was fantastic, may be that's what a real hot chocolate is. And there was another person who helped with Microwave in just few minutes after I approached him and asked for it at the reception. The room I got was also having a river view. It's beautiful! Hotel has arranged cab to the airport without charge. Also they paid me for the Uber I took from Airport to the Hotel. :)

Staff were exceptional particularly the lovely front desk lady that checked us in & the friendly lady who served behind bar and chatted with me when I had to eat alone (husband ill in bed) and also kindly opened the little shop for me (twice) to get a hot drink during our stay. Room was comfortable. We were allowed to check in early (extra cost) which was a Godsend as husband had felt really ill on flight from Hawaii so to allow him to sleep for the day. Very rainy miserable day with nowhere to go. Also late check out (extra cost) meant we were not hanging around with nowhere to go especially as our late flight was back to UK delayed & husband still not well. School Friend was meant to meet me for lunch but was also ill so couldn't! Really appreciated the stay.

Shuttle - Did not exist so we ended up having to get an Uber having waited a while. Hotel did reimburse the fare (without being asked the offer was made). Hotel arranged a taxi (with voucher). The driver was late & unfriendly but got us to the terminal. Rough with my cases so think he must be an undercover baggage handler.

Loved the view of the water from our 7th floor room. We could see Mount Baker on a clear day. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff was extremely courteous and accommadating!!

There was a flood during our stay when workmen damaged the sprinkler system so we were unable to use the elevator to access our room for a day. Also, the restaurant food was very expensive. The hotel needs to have coffee and tea for free in the lobby. Parking should also be free for guests, not $20 a day.
