Cambria Hotel Columbia Downtown the Vista

The location was convenient. The property is new and clean.

We had to pay $18/day for parking!! Upon our arrival there were no tissues or hand soap in the room. I responded to the welcome text and received no response. I finally went to the front desk. We got the tissues, but found out the hotel had no hand soap. The welcome text informed us that our room would not be made up until after the 3rd night of our 4 night stay. I asked via text and at the front desk for it to be made up after the second night. It was not done until after asking for the 3rd time.

Location was great for student tour at University of South Carolina. It was very convenient and clean.

You have to pay $18 for one night of parking (and it was a small lot so it was hit or miss then you needed to use valet). The bar was very expensive, a glass of wine was over $15 plus tip! My online booking said that breakfast was included, but they said Booking.com made a mistake and they don't offer any free meals.

The hotel was beautiful, our room was a very pleasant surprise. We loved the furniture and look, the timed lighting and lighting options were awesome! We loved the auto shades and the Keurig machine, the shower was lovely and we loved that it had a retractable bench and that it was 0 threshold. The bed was comfortable, the size was great and we seen that we could connect to the adjoining room if we had more in our party. We were in town with family, so that would've been nice (we'll keep that for future reference). Overall, wonderful experience!

This honestly isn't a huge problem, but we had to ask for toiletries at the front desk. We needed toothpaste, hand soap and an iron. It wasn't an issue, they brought the iron up and gave us the toiletries at the front desk. The staff was super friendly though!

Where do I start - from the very second you step into this hotel - everything’s immaculate. From the lobby, to the bar, to the paintings and artwork on display; every detail and color scheme has been thought out - everything’s so put together and complimentary - as a whole, this hotel is visually stunning. Love the cloth/thread inspired art piece in the lobby, inspired by South Carolina’s past. The check-in process was a breeze - the guy at the counter was so nice, friendly and easy to talk to. Housekeeping was so helpful, I needed more towels, and hey presto, in 2 seconds, I got everything I needed. The decor in the room is mind-blowing - super chic, calm colors, and lots of sockets all over. The height of the bed was just right. Pillows were exquisite, and the bolsters were great to sleep & cuddle with. I could stay here for a month, ha! Looking forward to coming back! 😁

I liked the cleanliness of the hotel.

what i didn’t like is the fact that they charged my card when i checked in 359.36 which included the 50 deposit which was fine. Until it was time to check out and they wanted to charge my card a second time for the same amount. Which would have my stay for two tonight’s over $600. I showed the front desk my account and I was told that it was a hold for the total stay and i had to pay again because they couldn’t check me out and they would continue to charge me as if i was still there..This was the worst hotel experience i have ever had. They need to Fix the system to only hold the $50 deposit and not the total stay and deposit like all the normal hotels.I should have just left when my check in took 30mins because a customer was complaining about this same issue.

lobby was very nice and clean, front desk employees were helpful, didn’t know I had to pay $18 for parking so that was a surprise, I brought my black light with me and I found some unclean areas in the room and bathroom but I bring cleaning supplies with me so I did some cleaning like I always do when traveling, the bed linen was clean, I did find trash on the floor in the room, the room was really nice and well kept overall, I like that there is no carpet in the room which is a plus.

$18 parking and there were barely enough parking spaces

The designers who created this hotel get a high 5! We are designers who have traveled all over the country and this hands down is the best experience we have had in a hotel. We really appreciated having a couch in the room. Note to other hotel chains one chair and a bed is not comfortable for couples! Our room had a chair and a couch! The room wasn’t any larger than a typical hotel room, but it was designed to maximize comfortable. The room was modern and clean with a lux bathroom with amazing lighting. The 1st floor common spaces were super stylish, open and welcoming. The dinning room was light and airy and… comfortable! We were well attended by personable waitresses, which added to lovely breakfast experience. We will be back!

The location was great for my needs. The room was very clean, the beds super comfy. I wish I had the bathroom in my apartment. Lol

Only thing, night staff was a little grumpy. Like, I bought a salad very late and went to my room and realized it didn't cone with utensils. So I go to the lobby, mention my dilemma (after searching near him for 5 minutes) and he wordlessly hands me a nice little roll of plastic utensils, which left me wondering why he didn't give them to me when I bought the salad? I don't carry a spork. It's a quibble. I thought it was kind of funny, honestly, but--prolly should try a wee bit harder.

The FRONT STAFF was VERY UNFRIENDLY. The guy that cleaned our floor was the most pleasant and hospitable every time he saw me. He even asked how my room was!!! He needs to be at the front desk and put the two front desk workers on the floors to clean!!! From my day of check in until check out the male was not friendly. There was a lady at the desk when I left that smiled and greeted us. Other than that the two gentlemen that worked the (3) days I was there didn’t smile ever.

This place is absolutely stunning - brand new, and you can smell it - the woods, everything; just smells new and fresh. Lobby is wow, everything’s picked and displayed with precision, lots of effort put into the overall look and style of the place. Have always been a fan of the Cambria hotels - wasn’t surprised that this hotel was stunning and although it has a similar color palette to the other Cambria hotels, it does have it’s individual look/style and lots of emphasis on fabrics, a nod to the fabric history/past of South Carolina. Housekeeping staff were super nice and efficient - they were willing to help and got stuff done immediately. Really appreciated the commitment and professionalism of the staff. Room was amazing, loved the layout, style and all the little details, etc. The colors were so relaxing, beds were super comfy, pillows were wowwww, loved the paintings on the walls, huge TV, the sofa on the corner was great too. Can’t wait to come back!!! ❤️😁
