Courtyard Columbia Downtown at USC

We loved the convenience of the location, especially if you are visiting the college, and want access to downtown dining. The Starbucks, and Bar on location were super convenient as well! The outdoor fireplace and TV sitting area were lovely. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and spacious. There is plenty of room for parking. We had a great experience and would definitely stay again.

The pool area is a great touch, and we really looked forward to lounging by it, but all the lounge chairs were all ripped and broken. They should seriously take inventory and replace the broken chairs. Maybe consider resin lounges over the cloth ones that were all tattered.

The staff is lovely-very welcoming, helpful. The people working the morning coffee rush kept the line moving. The staff working the front desk were polite, happy and helpful. The lobby was very clean.

I do wish they would consider updating the rooms a bit. The decor is old looking/shabby. Not dirty, but just kind of “blah”. Most hotel rooms don’t have carpet anymore, so maybe I would like to see them remove the carpet in the rooms and replace with laminate/faux hardwood.

Location was excellent, close to many restaurants (walkable if need be), historical points if interest, shopping, and businesses.

Parking was hellish on the first floor. So tight is made me squeal out of nervousness when we were pulling in the first day… and I’ve been driving over 30 years! likely due to Covid, housekeeping is reduced, leaving garbage I emptied and towels not exchanged daily.

Comfortable, clean beds, adequate A/C. The room was great.

I'm so over the COVID stuff. I like my beds made and fresh linens provided in the room every day. If we have to take out our own trash, bags need to be provided. When we returned mid-afternoon of our 2nd day, our bathroom floor was covered in water and all of our towels were in the floor soaking wet. It appeared that there was urine all over the toilet. We had not been in the room since 7:30 a.m. When we reported it to the front desk, we were informed that she would notify maintenance but she could not provide a time frame, but they would not come in the room if we were inside. We left for dinner and came back approx. 2.5 hours later. Water was dried up but nothing else had been done. No explanation and very strange.

The ONLY THING WE DIDN'T LIKE WAS THAT WE WERE IN THE IMPRESSION THAT OUR BREAKFAST WAS GOING TO BE COMPLIMENTARY BUT IT WASN'T AND NOT ONLY THAT BUT ALSO THE EXPENSIVE PRICES FOR GETTING SO VERY LITTLE. IT WAS OKAY THOUGH BECAUSE QE FELL IN LOVE WITH A LOCATION NOT TOO FAR FROM THE HOTEL WHICH HAD DELICIOUS FOOD WITH OUTSTANDING PRICES AND EVEN MORE AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT I'LL RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO STAY AT THE HOTEL AS AN ENCENTIVE TO BEING CLOSE BY IT AND THAT IS ANOTHER BROKEN EGG CAFE. TOGETHER WITH OUR HOTEL EQUALS AN AWESOME GETAWAY

All of the employees that I came in contact with were very nice. The hotel is very nice and in a good location.

The only thing I didn't like was that I left a phone charger and a full roll of paper towels in the room. I called the front desk and hour after checking out, the person said that they would retrieve my things from the room. In my mind if had they not been found or there was a problem they would have called me and let me know that. However no one called me at all. After my meeting I drove 30 minutes out of my way to go back to the hotel to retrieve my belongings, was told that there was nothing in the room. Would have been nice for someone to call me and tell me that rather than letting me drive back for no reason. Also I know I left both items in that room.

The staff were all great and helpful. The parking on site was great. I enjoyed the clean quiet room that was very comfortable.A great place to stay for exploring the city.

The pool area was kind of plain. Like to have seen some plants/ flowers.

The front desk staff were nice . The place is very clean and they have pool ,parking garage so thats a plus .

Floors to the bathroom were very slippery with socks on. Kinda dangerous so be careful. Elevator is slow they're only running one at a time. Most of Stairways lead you outside thats kinda strange .. only 2 floor stairs take you to front desk .. The breakfast i paid for was 30 dollars extra a day when booking a room And i still had to 10 dollars more when we ate. So save money and pay that day .

Clean

The low entry to the garage. Guy had height sign down working on it when I came in and he motioned me in in my truck and the top Of my truck hit a fire sprinkler pipe. Messed it up and scrapped the paint off of a spot on the roof.

Ease of parking, Excellent lobby desk representative, Buddy, was helpful, very pleasant and knowledgeable! He was a pleasure to deal with. Additionally, we had food from the cafe in the lobby and it was good and service was very friendly.
